Leslie | 16369 comments Jen, in future posts could you please include the title of the book? The covers can be difficult to read. Thanks!

Leslie | 16369 comments I just finished The Last Unicorn - I don't know how I missed reading this growing up! This YA book is one that can also be enjoyed by adults (unlike so many of them).

Sandy your link leads to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (a great book but) not the review you intended.

Enjoyed that when I read it many years ago.

Thank you Angela! Your review is much appreciated :) I know the names of characters and places may be a problem for English readers, that's why I provided a List of Characters and Chronology at the back. But I know for a Kindle version, it's not handy to flip back and forth.

Chrissie I deserve a medal; I completed Ulysses.

My review.: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I would never have succeed without the help and guidance received from those here in our group read-a-long discussion: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
They were fantastic. Petra and Pink helped me tons, and I never would have completed it without them.

message 12240: by Petra (new)

Petra | 3324 comments I finished reading Vanity Fair and enjoyed it. It loses stars for being so wordy, at times. Despite that, it was a fun read.

Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 12242: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie In a nutshell, the problem I had with Ulysses was that it meant nothing to me! It was a humongous pain to read. Even if an object of art is well done and executed with talent, you do not have to like it.

message 12243: by Diane (new)

Diane (lemonsky) The "Crankshaft" comic had a funny story recently where one character selected "Ulysses" for her book club and everybody hated it. They ended up reading Goodnight Moon!

Petra | 3324 comments I just finished a very short Jane Austen novel: Lady Susan. It was a fun, delightful read. For such a short book, it told an insightful story.
