2013 August Pick It For Me! Challenge

Thanks!

◈Purple: Daughter of Smoke & Bone(TBR) Not one I've read but it seems to have high ratings or Unholy Ghosts I think I somehow fit this book into my recs every month. I can't recommend this series enough.

◈Blue: Mercy(TBR) or A Reason To Believe This is a M/M romance with a bit of suspense and a ghost story. I really loved everything about this book!

◈Green: Origin(TBR) It looks like it should be out by the end of the month, and judging by your ratings I'm pretty sure you'll be picking it up as soon as you can :) or Faking It(TBR)

◈Yellow: Something About You(TBR) A fun and sexy read or Damaged(TBR)

◈Orange: Darkfever I didn't see much urban fantasy on your shelves and this series is one of the best or The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie One of my favorite historical romances.

◈Red: Sweet Evil(TBR) I'm not one to pick up a YA paranormal, but I really enjoyed this one or The Impact of You(TBR)

◈Black: Seduced in the Dark(TBR) I haven't read this one but you enjoyed the first one or Fatal Shadows So, I might be stretching it on the black cover here :D But this is a really good series. M/M romantic suspense, but light on the romance in this book. A good intro to the genre. Adrien is one of my all time favorite characters.

◈White: Obsession(TBR) An author you seem to really enjoy or Cut & Run Ty & Zane. *sigh* There isn't any other couple quite like them.

Hope you find something you'll enjoy!

I am completely unfamiliar with just about all the authors on your shelves. This was fun to look through and challenging! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...if my picks are off, let me know and I will try again.
Purple: Pick a book that has a magic or a mystery plot OR a book with a purple cover From your TBR (old)

Blue: Recommend a book that is perfect for a lazy day reading OR a book with a blue cover From your TBR (short)

Green: Pick a book from an author/theme/series that your picked has read and rated highly OR a book with green color. From your TBR (new)

White: Recommend a standalone or the last book in a series OR a book with a white cover. From your TBR, last in series

okay -- now for my picks (where this may all go wrong!)
Black: Recommend a dystopian or a Post-apocalyptic book OR a book with a black cover. You rated the As the World Dies Series highly. I followed the if you liked this, then you may like this suggestions to this book

Red: Recommend a book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last six months) OR a book with a red cover. I followed your highly rated books to the can't wait 2013 sci-fi/fantasy list and found these two books

Orange: Recommend a book from a genre that your picked doesn't usually read; something that's out of their comfort zone OR a book with a orange cover. Definitely not your usual genre. I liked both of these.

Yellow: Recommend a romance OR a book with yellow cover. Not serious, but very hot, sci-fi romance. I can Nook lend it if you are interested.

We only had a relatively small number of books in common, and I don't like recommending books I haven't read and rated at least 4*. So I gave you a mix of M/M and M/F. Sorry I don't know as much about the recent releases in the M/F world. I enjoyed each of these when I read them (though, admittedly it has been a while). I also recommend some favorites in the MM genre for you.
◈Purple: Fair Game (new to you)
◈Blue: Between Sinners and Saints (tbr)
◈Green: Changing The Game (new to you)
◈Yellow: Easy (new to you)
◈Orange: The Curtis Reincarnation (tbr)
◈Red: Backstage Pass (tbr)
◈Black: Flat-Out Sexy (tbr)
◈White: Cut & Run (new to you)

So this was a bit of challenge for me mostly because we have different taste in books. However I hope that I have picked some that you like. If you would like any repicks please let me know.
◈Purple
Spider's Bite by Estep, Jennifer- I enjoyed this whole series.

A Discovery of Witches by Harkness, Deborah- This is a long book but worth it.

◈Blue
Sex, Murder And A Double Latte by Davis, Kyra- A mystery/comedy

Mustang Wild by Stacey Kayne- I’ve never read this book but several of my GR friends have and enjoyed it. Buddy Read?

◈Green
Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh- Another series by her that is really good.

Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews

◈Yellow
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen- A personal favorite of mine.

Stealing Life by T.A. Chase- I have never read this book but it was on your TBR list and its yellowish so I went with it.

◈Orange
The Lightning Thief by Riordan, Rick

A Kingdom of Dreams by McNaught, Judith

◈Red
Wolf with Benefits by Laurenston, Shelly- I am dying to read this book and you seem to like the rest of the series.

Captive Angels by Stephani Hecht- this sounded interesting and the cover is red.

◈Black
Captive in the Dark by C.J. Roberts- Dark subject matter and a dark cover.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins- Dystopian world

◈White
Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force- A stand alone book.

The Prize by Garwood, Julie- I love her books.

I hope that you find something that you want to read soon! Fingers crossed! :)

Sorry Jane & Fran. I missed you when I was going through the list. Do you want me to re-assign you? I can work something out.

◈Purple: Two m/m romantic suspense picks here, Zero at the Bone, or A Reason To Believe (which has just a touch of paranormal thrown in).
◈Blue: One Reckless Summer or The Darkest Hour. I LOVED both of these books!
◈Green: Hard Evidence (well, you did ask for it…), or Motorcycle Man.
◈Yellow: Hot Finish (you’ve liked the first two), or Sidecar – just finished this a few days ago, and wow did I come away with a case of the warm and fuzzies!
◈Orange: Naked in Death – romantic suspense with one of the yummiest heroes ever and set about 50 years in the future (also, it's amazing in audio), or Beautiful Creatures – it doesn’t look like you have much interest in paranormal or fantasy, but this was on your TBR so I went with it.
◈Red: Belong To You, or Once Upon a Tower – I’m reading this one in August, so it’s a possibility for a buddy read if you’re interested.
◈Black: Since neither of us are much into dystopian I just had to go with cover color here - Rock Hard or On Dublin Street (some covers look blacker than others…).
◈White: Wallbanger – next month’s group buddy read choice, or Misunderstanding Mason.
I hope you have as much luck with these picks as you did the last ones! Enjoy!

Nah - don't worry about it Vi :) The categories you have set for us this month should make the selection a bit different...

Most definitely WILL read:

funny you say I don't read much YA. I tend to switch up genres from one book to the next, but YA is definitely in there. So I will try

I think this is the 3rd time I've picked for you (what's up with the randomizers??) so I seriously hope you don't get sick of me - and probably the same books that I generally recommend. As your TBR is ginormous, it was pretty hard to find something not on your TBR. Hope you like the picks tho, please let me know if you need a repick.
◈Purple:
NEW (magic) - Firelight - I see that you have book 2 and 3 on your TBR but have you read the 1st? A good start to the series! If you have, then go for book 2!
◈Blue:
TBR - Playing for Keeps - a great funny read. Perfect for lazying around by the pool.
NEW - Making Him Sweat - hawt MMA fighters are hawt (and good for being lazy with)
◈Green:
TBR - The Unidentified Redhead - I see you've read Wallbanger, while not the same series, the author is still pretty freaking funny in this earlier novel.
◈Yellow: (romance)
TBR - As You Desire - a permanent place on my favorites list.
NEW - A Matter of Class - a lovely, short read
◈Orange:
TBR - Curio - A very interesting premise, hawt and exotic, the subsequent vignettes should also be read for a completed story.
◈Red:
TBR - First Grave on the Right - okay, book 5 was JUST released and I (along with some fellow GR buddies) had a mini-bacchanalian fest over the reading of it. It's THAT much loved.
◈Black: (dystopian/post-apoc)
TBR - Angelfall - read this in one sitting. love it.
NEW - Night Whispers - interesting world building. This was a recent read of mine, which I really liked more than I thought I would. and the hero was a bit different from the mega-alpha male, but still lovable.
◈White:
NEW (white) - For You - I love KA. seriously.
NEW (whitish cover) - Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow - I hope you like fairytale retellings. They always make me sigh.

◈Black: Since neither of us are much into dystopian I just had to go with cover color here - Rock Hard or On Dublin Street (some covers look blacker than others…).

I have

I'm sure I won't be able to read all these books this month, but what I don't get to in August will get rolled over into September.
