MountainKat | 31599 comments OK, Dee - I stuck my toes in and starting wading through your shelves! I will have your picks up tomorrow, there is too much to get through tonight. But I promise you won't be waiting long!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Fun! Question for clarification: for the color (like, "blue: choose a book for a lazy day/blue cover"), do all 4 TBR picks and all 4 "new to them" picks have to fit that specification or is that a guideline for the majority of books?

Thanks!

message 105: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Teresa, one pick for each color. The 4 new-to-them and 4 TBR picks are overall guideline. For example: Red can be from their TBR while Orange can be a New to Them book. That works?

message 106: by ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (last edited Jul 28, 2013 09:00PM) (new)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Ohh, gotcha. I was thinking since we chose a color (I chose blue so I'm on the 'blue team') that meant we used the "color definition" for our person (like if my person is listed under blue, I thought I was using the blue definition for their picks), but duh, I see you have a bunch of colors that people didn't even pick from. I just confused myself hahaha. Thanks!

message 107: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments LOL, OK. It's easy to get confused. And the colors when you sign-up is just to segregate into different groups.

message 108: by Breann (last edited Jul 28, 2013 09:22PM) (new)

Breann | 398 comments Hi Raquel, we don't have many books in common so it was fun looking though your shelves! Most of my picks are from your shelves but I snuck in a few of my favorites :)

◈Purple: Daughter of Smoke & Bone(TBR) Not one I've read but it seems to have high ratings or Unholy Ghosts I think I somehow fit this book into my recs every month. I can't recommend this series enough.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by Laini Taylor Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane

◈Blue: Mercy(TBR) or A Reason To Believe This is a M/M romance with a bit of suspense and a ghost story. I really loved everything about this book!
Mercy (Mercy, #1) by Rebecca Lim A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland

◈Green: Origin(TBR) It looks like it should be out by the end of the month, and judging by your ratings I'm pretty sure you'll be picking it up as soon as you can :) or Faking It(TBR)
Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Faking It (Losing It, #2) by Cora Carmack

◈Yellow: Something About You(TBR) A fun and sexy read or Damaged(TBR)
Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) by Julie James Damaged (Damaged, #1) by H.M. Ward

◈Orange: Darkfever I didn't see much urban fantasy on your shelves and this series is one of the best or The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie One of my favorite historical romances.
Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

◈Red: Sweet Evil(TBR) I'm not one to pick up a YA paranormal, but I really enjoyed this one or The Impact of You(TBR)
Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1) by Wendy Higgins The Impact of You by Kendall Ryan

◈Black: Seduced in the Dark(TBR) I haven't read this one but you enjoyed the first one or Fatal Shadows So, I might be stretching it on the black cover here :D But this is a really good series. M/M romantic suspense, but light on the romance in this book. A good intro to the genre. Adrien is one of my all time favorite characters.
Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #2) by C.J. Roberts Fatal Shadows (Adrien English Mystery, #1) by Josh Lanyon

◈White: Obsession(TBR) An author you seem to really enjoy or Cut & Run Ty & Zane. *sigh* There isn't any other couple quite like them.

Hope you find something you'll enjoy!

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments Ok Nadine, here you go! I gave you two choices for each category, most (but not all) have one from your TBR and one new to you.

◈Purple: Two m/m romantic suspense picks here, Zero at the Bone, or A Reason To Believe (which has just a touch of paranormal thrown in).

◈Blue: One Reckless Summer or The Darkest Hour. I LOVED both of these books!

◈Green: Hard Evidence (well, you did ask for it…), or Motorcycle Man.

◈Yellow: Hot Finish (you’ve liked the first two), or Sidecar – just finished this a few days ago, and wow did I come away with a case of the warm and fuzzies!

◈Orange: Naked in Death – romantic suspense with one of the yummiest heroes ever and set about 50 years in the future (also, it's amazing in audio), or Beautiful Creatures – it doesn’t look like you have much interest in paranormal or fantasy, but this was on your TBR so I went with it.

◈Red: Belong To You, or Once Upon a Tower – I’m reading this one in August, so it’s a possibility for a buddy read if you’re interested.

◈Black: Since neither of us are much into dystopian I just had to go with cover color here - Rock Hard or On Dublin Street (some covers look blacker than others…).

◈White: Wallbanger – next month’s group buddy read choice, or Misunderstanding Mason.

I hope you have as much luck with these picks as you did the last ones! Enjoy!

Ty | 1943 comments Thanks for the awesome picks, Skandia!

Most definitely WILL read: Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews - I go batsh*t crazy for some Kate and Cullen. can't wait!

funny you say I don't read much YA. I tend to switch up genres from one book to the next, but YA is definitely in there. So I will try The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson , Die for Me (Revenants, #1) by Amy Plum (which I've heard a LOT about but never got around to putting on my TBR), and anything else I can get my hands on. Thanks again!!

Ty | 1943 comments Hey Karen!

I think this is the 3rd time I've picked for you (what's up with the randomizers??) so I seriously hope you don't get sick of me - and probably the same books that I generally recommend. As your TBR is ginormous, it was pretty hard to find something not on your TBR. Hope you like the picks tho, please let me know if you need a repick.

◈Purple:
NEW (magic) - Firelight - I see that you have book 2 and 3 on your TBR but have you read the 1st? A good start to the series! If you have, then go for book 2!

◈Blue:
TBR - Playing for Keeps - a great funny read. Perfect for lazying around by the pool.
NEW - Making Him Sweat - hawt MMA fighters are hawt (and good for being lazy with)

◈Green:
TBR - The Unidentified Redhead - I see you've read Wallbanger, while not the same series, the author is still pretty freaking funny in this earlier novel.

◈Yellow: (romance)
TBR - As You Desire - a permanent place on my favorites list.
NEW - A Matter of Class - a lovely, short read

◈Orange:
TBR - Curio - A very interesting premise, hawt and exotic, the subsequent vignettes should also be read for a completed story.

◈Red:
TBR - First Grave on the Right - okay, book 5 was JUST released and I (along with some fellow GR buddies) had a mini-bacchanalian fest over the reading of it. It's THAT much loved.

◈Black: (dystopian/post-apoc)
TBR - Angelfall - read this in one sitting. love it.
NEW - Night Whispers - interesting world building. This was a recent read of mine, which I really liked more than I thought I would. and the hero was a bit different from the mega-alpha male, but still lovable.

◈White:
NEW (white) - For You - I love KA. seriously.
NEW (whitish cover) - Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow - I hope you like fairytale retellings. They always make me sigh.

◈Black: Since neither of us are much into dystopian I just had to go with cover color here - Rock Hard or On Dublin Street (some covers look blacker than others…).

Karen H
I started reading
Rock Hard (Sinners on Tour, #2) by Olivia Cunning last night so is it OK if I substitute it for Wicked Beat (Sinners on Tour, #4) by Olivia Cunning it comes out August 6th?

Thanks Lauren for the terrific recommendations. There's so many great books to choose from that I'm not quite sure what I'll end up reading.

I have The Alienist (Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, #1) by Caleb Carr , Dracula by Bram Stoker , and Hard Eight (Stephanie Plum, #8) by Janet Evanovich already. I've ordered The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning , and A Terrible Beauty by Graham Masterton from paperback swap, and wish listed The Pigeon Pie Mystery by Julia Stuart and Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews . I don't think I'll get those two books this month, but I will be reading both at some point in the (near) future.

I'm sure I won't be able to read all these books this month, but what I don't get to in August will get rolled over into September.

I'll let you know what I do end up reading.

Thanks again for all the great recs. I appreciate you giving me both romance and other genres to chose from.
