I've just started Charles Dickens' Bleak House . I will need a few days (weeks?) to finish this one, but I'm loving it so far (but then, I always love Dickens' books, so...)
A 30-years later re-read of The End of the Affair, and then started The Case of Comrade Tulayev by Victor Serge (original French title L'Affaire d' Tulayev I think).

The 39 Steps by John Buchan, in fact I'm nearing the end- it's a short one. It's the basis of an old movie made by Hitchcock which has since had a couple of remakes.
I started Justine by the Marquis de Sade but am unable to tolerate it any longer at about 40% completed. I’m generally not that sensitive but don’t see the point in reading anymore of his violence and abuse - shock value achieved.
