I'm having trouble finding this one. It seems to be unavailable everywhere."
I found it at the Internet Archive (archive.org). It is one of three novellas in her book Women Against Men.

RJ, my copy also included Double Indemnity (not a list book). Both are very good, and quick reads. I'm now watching the movie TPARW with Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange. May watch DI with weekend.

Cain enjoyed Turner's performance so much he inscribed a leather-bound copy of the novel and gave it to her. Seeing old time Laguna Beach circa 1946 is interesting too, at least for me since I live about 25 miles away from there.
Notre-Dame de Paris The Hunchback of Notre-Dame by Victor Hugo (started a few days ago) and The Temple of Dawn by Yukio Mishima (the third book in The Sea of Fertility)
Fools of Fortune by William Trevor of Ireland and Play It As It Lays by Joan Didion, American. Both fairly short.
Delta of Venus by Anaïs Nin and Compassion (more commonly known as Misericordia by Benito Pérez Galdós
Karina wrote: "I started Labyrinths: Selected Stories & Other Writings by Jorge Luis Borges couple of days ago."I love Borges! Have you read Ficciones?

Me too, yesterday. Last book in the scavenger hunt for me. Didn't love it but it's historically influential.

Rose wrote: "The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing"I read it this year. I'm interested to know what you think about it.
I started reading perhaps the most revered war novel ever
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Forest of the Hanged by Liviu Rebreanu and The Enigma of Arrival: A Novel in Five Sections by V.S. Naipaul
