I started Nenä ja muut pietarilaisnovellit by Nikolai Gogol. This is short stories by Gogol and includes The Nose.
James wrote: "Good luck Christine. It’s not an easy read but I thought we’ll worth the effort."I’m gonna need it. I’d thought now is as good a time as any to buckle down and give it a go since I’ve been in an Irish kinda mood at the moment.
Correction by Thomas Bernhard. Not sure if I can finish this- it's hard for me to read very much of it in one sitting with its repiticiousness.
I started reading one of those books that it seems like everyone but me has already read
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Democracy by Joan Didion
The Lost Steps by Alejo Carpentier
The Novel of Ferrara by Giorgio Bassani which contains The Garden of the Finzi-Continis (a Boxall list book and #3 in the Il Romanzo di Ferrara Series). I have to read them all, in order, so I'm starting with #1 Within the Walls.
