I'm reading The Passage. On page 48 of 800. Ugh! Good book but I just don't have much time to read right now.

I'm in the same boat, Amy. I don't think I'll finish my current book anytime soon. However I will finish it, I hope.
I just finished the The Keeping Place and am super excited to start the next book in the Obernewtyn Chronicles, Obernewtyn Chronicles 5: Wavesong.

I'm having trouble picking it back up. I read to page 80, then took a break and now I have no idea where it went. I think my son is actually using it for a car ramp. LOL.I started Kindred but not really feeling it so I may not continue with it.

Embarassed? Why?

The Passage while so intricate whith all of ithe different characters is definitely worth the time and effort put into finishing. It is the first in a trilogy and this particular book stands up against Stephen King's "The Stand". I really recommend you push on through until you find your rhythm so to speak.
As for "Kindred", please dont give up! There are so many little references and nuances that looking back we can pick up on but at the time that Butler wrote it, many missed. She was very clever in that way, and the over all message of the book is powerful. I liked the book so much that I actually did my short senior thesis for my Bachelor's on it.

Well, James Frey is the author, and he is sort of a laughing-stock, especially now that he's got this YA factory going on. And the movie got savaged in the reviews.....Oh well. I still enjoyed them both.
I'm almost finished with Lisa Schroeder's The Day Before. I'm liking this book better than I thought I might. Books in verse are often lost on me. I like the story in this though.I also just started the audio version of White Cat, Jesse Eisenberg from Zombieland and The Social Network is the narrator, and is good so far.
I'm reading The Fox Inheritance. It's written by the same author as The Adoration of Jenna Fox. Haven't figure out if it's a sequel or just about the other two characters, since the Adoration book was all about Jenna.
I've been trying to get through The Magicians (not exactly YA, but kind of?) but I'm stuck on chapter 5.I may start Amaretto Flame, an indie book by Sammy Spencer. It sounds promising.

I've picked up and set down Entwined by Heather Dixon all week! It looks good, but by the time I get settled in to read it, something else pops up. Gotta love audiobooks for that reason, at least I can listen while I'm cooking and cleaning! White Cat by Holly Black is moving right along. There are a couple of things I'm still confused about, but it might be that I wasn't paying close enough attention!
Angela wrote: "Gotta love audiobooks for that reason, at least I can listen while I'm cooking and cleaning!"I'll second that! When it's a really well done audiobook I find I even end up cleaning or organizing things I hadn't meant to get to that day, just to keep listening.
Reading Want to Go Private? by Sarah Darer Littman. I heard her speak last week and was very impressed with her research and methods in getting across the message of online safety to teens. So far, a great book.
I'm reading Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick. Not sure what I expected but it's definitely not what I expected.
So I am reading Family and am not really feeling it but it seems like a quick read so I am going to try and stick it out a bit more.
I'm reading The Hunger Games and it's just so so. Not sure why everyone is loving this book so much. I'm just reading to be finished with it.
I'm reading Shine by Lauren Myracle and Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin. I'm just starting to listen to Solitary by Alexander Gordon Smith today also.

I'm reading Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast and liking it pretty well so far
I'm listening to Eggs on audio and it should have been finished by now but work is so busy I don't have time to listen. I'm also reading Dust & Decay and it's good so far.
Dominic wrote: "I've just read the summary of Divergent! It's gonna be goood!"It is good. Lots of action.

Awesome! Angela, have you read The Hunger Games?
People compare them to each other. I want them to be "similar, bit different" lol.

Yes, I loved The Hunger Games. I would definitely say that Divergent is good for fans of The Hunger Games. :)

Me too! Such a nice take on a "zombie" book. Almost can't call it that.
I'm still plugging along with Eggs. Wish I had the actual book instead of just audio. It's so short, I would've been done by now.Finished Dust & Decay and loved it. Finished Because I am Furniture and liked it. It's always hard to read books about abuse. :(
I've just started Entwined and so far, so good. Love the cover!
Reading
. It's been a while since I've read a short stories book. I've read maybe six of the stories so far and a few just seemed like they ended abruptly. I hate that.
