Quite good. I got the audiobook because at the time the library didn't have a copy. I'm working on Rutledge, I first read this author with the Bess Crawford series. Love this time period

Sarah (harasnicole) | 11 comments Reading BENEATH by Maureen A. Miller.

It’s a YA fantasy/mystery with a touch of romance that isn’t quite as prevalent as I thought it’d be, which is a good thing. The world building is creative, too.

I haven’t started the Bess Crawford series yet. I’ve heard & read so many good things about it that I’m hoping to get to it soon.
I do enjoy audiobooks but am picky about readers.....think i’ll try to get an audio version for my next Rutledge book 😊

message 3842: by Pat (new)

Pat (cedarandelm) | 10 comments I began Letters to a Young Farmer this morning and read Barbara Kingsolver's heart-touching letter. I requested that my library buy this book and it was ready for me to pick up today, synchronistically after a visit this weekend with my "young farmer" brother. My brother grows and his wife preserves almost all the plant foods his family needs, from tomatoes, broccoli and herbs to lemons for limoncello and grapes and berries for wine. After flipping through the book, I have decided to purchase a copy for my brother to thank him for the baby peach tree he gave me for planting in my garden. I'll be reading his copy and inserting sticky notes with memories of our father's farming practices and my observations on his own beautiful garden and orchard and his growth as a farmer.
