I haven't heard of, or read, either of those, but I am looking them up now.

Kandice | 4387 comments Today my husband, daughter and I drove from The Bronx to Bangor, Maine and they agreed to listen to a King audiobook. We chose Joyland because it was the closest to the length maps said the drive would be. It ended as we were taking the exit! It was so, so weird!

Mike (theneverendingtbr) I've been in a slump lately, due to moving house (which has an extra room, that I'm obviously turning into a library) but I'm slowly making my way out of the slump and have started reading 'Later' by Stephen King; I'm really liking it so far.

:)

Kandice | 4387 comments They did like Joyland! I was very happy they did, because if they hadn't, I would never talk them into another, which I did yesterday. We listened to The Colorado Kid on the way from Bangor to Salem, Massachusetts. They didn't like that one as well, but they didn't not like it.

As I was reading your comment, it looked like you were going to say you'd never talk to them again lol but it's cool they enjoyed Joyland. I think for your next road trip you should visit Colorado and go to the Stanley Hotel....

Is it worth the read?

Yes, it's worth the read and the books have a few more shocking moments versus the show. The ONLY draw back is that the book series still remains unfinished.

Amanda | 1 comments I'm reading Mirrorland, about 50 pages in and there are a handful of blatant King references. The main character nicknames a guy the gunslinger, and later on she calls a light source the deadlights. I'm curious to see if this continues.
