Currently Reading? Just Finished? 2013 and on
Just finished reading Codename: Chimera. I don't know what to say. The book was pretty bad. I generally only review books that I like so I don't want to write a review of this book. However, I did say that I would write a review when the author sent me a copy of the ebook. Not a good place to be.

I have Wild Fire by Nelson DeMille on my shelf but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'll post my thoughts when I have. I have heard many good things about DeMille so I think I would feel happy about any comparison.

I finished Vendettaby Michael Dibdin, the second Aurelio Zen mystery. Zen gets involved in solving the murder of a millionaire whose house had super high security protection. Good book with lots of twists and action. I hope the Italian justice system isn't really as crooked as depicted in the Zen books :)

It wasn't bad, Kathryn, I just didn't like it as much as the others. I tend to get a little tired of recurring characters and I read Wild Fire last.
Barbara wrote: "I finished The End of the Wasp Season by Denise Mina. In this mystery, a young woman is viciously murdered and a rich, arrogant, older man commits suicide. Glasgow detective, Alex Morrow - pregnant..."I just finished it too - I thought it was a great read. I've also read her Garnethill trilogy - wonderful stuff. I like the way she doesn't spoon feed the reader information, we have to figure things out for ourselves. Looking forward to reading the next one.
Okay I am still reading The Face by Dean Knootz But I walk to the library today to take back the other books i just got done and Picked up some new ones. Here is what i will be reading after The faceThe Lost Years by Mary Higgins Clark Let the Dead Sleep by Heather Graham The Undertaker's Widow by Phillip Margolin Riptide by Catherine Coulter Hour Game by David Baldacci
Just finished
Mission to Paris
by Alan Furst. All the familiar Furstian tropes, atmosphere and attitudes, which may lead to some deja vu if you're a regular. Four stars if you've never read Furst before; three stars if you have.Read my review here.
Totally hooked on Chevy Stevens and read Never Knowing then Still Missing and just finished Always Watching..you wont be disappointed...

Tay wrote: "Finished Blowback by Brad Thor. I'm now reading Shadow People by James Swain"Love Thor's novels. His new book Hidden Order is the best in the series.
Started The English Girl by Daniel Silva last night. I'm about half way through. Great book. Silva is really a master.
Hi Ursula,A good choice of books, love Harlan Coben and James Patterson. Have many Tess Gerritsen to read. Do try Linwood Barclay and SJ Bolton.
regards
Sean
I'm currently re-listening to the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian read by Simon Vance. Just finished Post Captain and started H.M.S. Surprise.
I'm currently enjoying The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, The Gods of Mars and Murder in the Central Committee.
Got completely distracted by a challenge in another group and burned through Casino Royale for it. Not bad at all.

I'm reading Dog on It by Spencer Quinn, a mystery about a missing girl. The detective duo consists of Bernie Little and his dog Chet - who narrates the story. I love mysteries narrated by animal buddies :)

My whole family reads the Chet and Bernie mysteries. It's a must-read for dog lovers.

Loved Joyland by Stephen King. A totally different book from anything I have ever read. Hear he has a great one coming in Sept.
just finished Joyland too. I kept waiting for the terror, but the ending was very good and not like King's usual. I would recommend it.
I just finished
. This was my first book written by this author. I enjoyed the book but toward the end it got a little weird for me. The person I expected to be the killer was not.
I finished a Hard Case Crime book,
Money Shot by Christa Faust. A quick read and nice, gritty, fun escapism.
Started reading Target Lancer
by Max Allan Collins. It is the latest book in the Nathan Heller series. I have enjoyed this series immensely. I have read and reviewed all of the other books in the series so far.
Just finished Creatures of Appetite which was probably a 4-star read except for a couple of issues for me ... first, the lead female law enforcement character was one of the "stock" psychologically damaged types, which is becoming all too common and something that I find annoying ... and second, I hated the ending. Not sure what will be next, but hopefully something not as dark. However, readers that like the Hannibal Lecter series will probably like this but it isn't for me.

I finished Dog on It by Spencer Quinn, a Bernie Little and his dog Chet mystery. Chet narrates the story....he's a very funny dog. I enjoyed the book.
The curiosity is killing me - so I started The Cuckoo's Calling last night. I'm only 15% in but enjoying it thus far - there have been several snarky quips which made me chuckle. The synopsis of The Casual Vacancy didn't really grab me, so this is my first non-Harry Potter read by Rowling. So far, so good....
Tay wrote: "Mark wrote: "All good so far on the new thread, just finished
and wondering what to start next..."I like that series."
I went to the library today they did not have the first in the grant series so I got Fractured. Do you have to read this series in order?
