If i can find my annotated Shakespeare collection, i'm going to re-read Much Ado About Nothing before going to see the movie. After that, I'll go back to mystery/thrillers.

Well, it's better than "meh."
Blazing through Always Watching by Chevy Stevens. She's just so good at the messing-with-the-mind stuff. And it's set on Vancouver Island--arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Where on the Island is it set?

I guess i'll wait and see what the group reads are and then decide."Did you like Silken Prey? I don't know if I've gotten tired of Davenport or if that was one of Sanford's lesser books. It just didn't grab me.

I just loved reading "Esquimalt" and knowing how to pronounce it! Happy Canada Day neighbor!
She describes our forests SO beautifully, and accurately: the trees and mud, mist and manure, the moss. Oh, the moss!
I just finished reading Coldwater by Diana Gould. I loved it! Great mystery! Dark subject (child prostitution) but so good!
I finished The Dead Shall Not Rest by Tessa Harris, a Dr. Thomas Silkstone mystery. Set in late 1700s London the book gives a good feel for the setting, though I got the impression that London was chock full of grave robbers, highwaymen thieves, con artists, and cheats of all kinds. The story was okay - Dr. Silkstone needs to find the murderer of a famous castrato (a singer castrated as a youth to maintain his soprano voice) - but the "side stories" were a little too melodramatic for me. I'd give the book 3.5 stars.

Just finished The Informationist, well paced thriller with a very strong female lead character. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series.
Just finished The Heist and liked it pretty well. I thought it would be like the show White Collar and it started out that way, but then they put together a small group of people to pull off schemes for the government and it was really interesting and comical. I'm glad it was different than what I expected because it made me like it more. Now reading Second Honeymoon.

The first was really good.

just finished reading Along came the spider by James Patterson...it was good but i thought Kiss the Girls was better.....now reading Inferno its quite good so far...its different from his other books
I am starting Catherine de Medici, three books in one, by Jean Plaidy. I imagine it will be similar to Lucretia Borgia in two. Not only does she give a view of the times and places which allows you to share and empathize from their viewpoint, she adds the qualities of conspiracy, thriller type mystery, sabotage, murder, all the elements of the time (ours is That different....sometimes I really wonder); it's anything but dry historical fact in attempted story form. It's fiction, of course, except some real basic truths come out of her perceptions of the characters. Anyhow, we'll see how it goes.
JF: The Blue Rose by Gloria Alden The Blue Rose which I enjoyedNR: Seconds Away by Harlan Coben Seconds Away - This is a YA, but that's not an impediment to my enjoying it
I'm currently finishing The Water Rat of Wanchai by Ian Hamilton and just starting The Moon Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Passport To Eternity by J.G. Ballard.
I finished The Impossible Dead by Ian Rankin, a Malcolm Fox mystery. Inspector Fox is a Scottish "complaint's officer (investigates police corruption). He's looking into a possible police cover-up for a fellow cop who takes advantage of women suspects. The investigation mushrooms into a much larger case involving suicides and missing money and Scottish terrorists, etc. Good book. 4 stars.
Reading Run For Your Life by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. Soooooo much better than the Women's Murder Club series.
Broke my arm last week but the silver lining is all the reading you get done when you can't do anything else.
I've read Blood Orchids, Just Desserts,A Killing Karma,Wrong Time Wrong Place, and A Plunder by Pilgrims.

Hi Rachel, yes I really enjoyed Blood Orchids. Nice description of Hawaii and a twisty complex plot. I would read more in the series.

I just finished reading The Hangman's Daughter. It is fast paced at the beginning, a good thing to draw you in to read. Somewhat drags in the middle. It is set in 1659 in Europe--mystery, witchcraft and history rolled into one.
I just finished If You Were Hereby Alafair Burke. It was one of my favorite books of the year so far! Now i'm reading The King of Liesby John Hart. About 50 pages in and i'm hooked!
I'm reading Eye for an Eye by Ben Coes. Great summer read so far. Fast-paced, lots of action, over the top sort of fun.

Sorry about the arm, but at least you found something positive. :0)
I'm reading Robert B. Parker's Killing The Blues by Michael Brandman. This is one of those books that continues a series with a new author after the original author (in this case Robert Parker) dies. In this Jesse Stone book (police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts) Jesse seems more violent and murderous than in Parker's original books...but maybe I'm not remembering correctly.
