message 154: by Natasha (new)

Natasha (nerdynatasha) | 7 comments Quick question for all. Being the OCD, MS brain fogged, Virgo, would it help me to organize and clean up part of my reading list In keeping track of which books I specifically read for my Reading University Degree would it be in my best interest to use the exclusive option on my reading list genre? I use the android app often since I can generally only read off my phone or kindle, it allows for that option as well when reveiwing or just cataloging. Thank you so much for the assistance, I didn't see the question previously addressed. I apologize if I double posted.

message 155: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Sorry, Natasha, I don't really understand your question. So, I'll defer to Jex.

message 156: by Jex (new)

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments Grats Emily! I added you to the completed list.

message 157: by Jex (new)

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments You can either create a shelf specifically for it or use a post here to track what you'll be reading for which category. Personally I wouldn't make an exclusive shelf as that take it off your main shelves (ie read, to-read, currently reading), but that's just my preference. You can set up your shelves however you choose. I recommend taking a look at the How-To section of NBRC for more info on how shelves work. Everyone has their own way or organizing challenges. You just have to find the one that works best for you.

Thanks Jex for answering the question. You answerered everything perfectly. I wasn't quite sure of the restrictions of this challenge and as a person that has been out of the loop of GR Challenges (not specifically this group), I wanted to make sure I was not a bad girl as usual...LOL>. I look forward to mixing and mingling with fellow groupers.

On a personal note, thank you so very much for organizing this challenge. It really has lit a fire under my bum to read more varied books again (I was stuck in a zombie rut) and to really get to all my back logged posts and reviews.

Thanks Lisa for trying to help out on this one.

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments @Phyllis - Welcome to the challenge! If you can put together something that looks similar to the other categories (the main category with 4 subcategories) for a Christian Living type major/minor I will happily add it in.

Basically something that looks like this:
(view spoiler)

but with the sub categories that you see fitting that area.

Does that make sense?

message 183: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2568 comments @ Phyllis: It might be a good idea not to restrict the category to Christian themes only. Why not make a more general "Religion" category where various religions might fit in? Just a suggestion. :)

Natasha (nerdynatasha) | 7 comments I need to update my reading list. But started to make shelves for each of the degrees. I've been so excited that I've been reading faster and searching for more books to add onto my reading list. As the books tumble all around me I'm trying decide what category to place some of the read as they are applicable to more than one. How all is doing well on their challenge and that they can catch up on their reading with all this rain.

message 188: by Natasha (new)

Natasha (nerdynatasha) | 7 comments I'm making progress with books lined up to satisfy the course work. I just wish it was feasible to update my completed reading list, with posted reviews list in the group through the GoodReads app on my phone. Don't always have an opportunity to get to my computer. Can't wait until Amazon's purchase prompts alterations to the app overall. Will update when I can.

How is everyone else doing in their challenge? ? Any dystopian or apocalyptic books that people can recommend other gene based on my previous post of my degree pursuit??? :-D
