What's New From Josh?

I don't think anybody would think that!"
I don't think so either, but it seems that the whole issue garners strong emotions.
ETA: To make things clearer, strong emotions are good in my opinion, it shows enthusiasm and dedication, yes - and love for the books and the genre :).

I mean what I said, strong emotions, but not necessarily in a negative way.

The thing is, I plan on paying the current going rate for..."
:-)

It seems you have managed to encompass all the various emotions neatly into one package :)

My general aim is to be like a Norwegian but it is obvious that it will need some restructuring ;)

LOL! And you did sum up everything neatly...

Honestly: yes! Or so I heard it...
In the past my opinion on the matter was that I wouldn't touch a Adrien/Jake fanfic with a 10 foot pole. But if Josh supervise this, I'm willing to give it a try because I won't risk to be scarred for life reading something awful.

You will get there some day, I am sure of it ;)
Here's what I was thinking -- I'd collect those interviews, do a couple of codas, add some gorgeous art, and pay for some well-written stories that maybe added insight or a perspective that would be interesting or entertaining.
I was thinking that it would be a treat, something fun, not too serious. DVD bonuses. Extras.
But I've come to the conclusion that it is either too soon since the end of the series or people just take these books a whole heck of a lot more seriously than I figured. The response has definitely been the most unenthusiastic I've ever seen from my readership, so I think I'd be pretty dumb to forge on. Especially given that this would be quite expensive and a lot of work.
That's okay! Not every idea can be a winner.
I am proceeding with my Christmas plans however, and you guys are just going to have to deal with the results of that. This time I ain't asking! :-D

Is it Christmas yet? ;) looking forward to it!
Hey, it's coming faster than you think!
Or that I think! I have this uneasy feeling that the next time I look up, we'll all be moaning about not having our holiday shopping done!

Oh yes, I recognise that feeling, it's scary.

I was thinking that it would be a treat, something fun, not too serious. DVD bonuses. Extras."
I'm thankful that you thought about doing this, investing lots of time and money basically for us.
And I'm obviously sorry that the response was so unenthusiastic that you felt obliged to put the project on hold. IMO people who were not interested didn't have to buy it.
Good and bad fan fics about Adrien and Jake will still be written. Not that I ever went to check ot tht I will in the future. I stated my position on ''unfiltered'' fics above.
Josh wrote: "But I've come to the conclusion that it is either too soon since the end of the series or people just take these books a whole heck of a lot more seriously than I figured."
Let's see the positive side: people are still so invested in Adrien and Jake because you created such incredibly powerful characters.

I'm surprised that you're surprised about how seriously people take Adrien and Jake! And also - the key words in the next sentence are "[your] readership"; people want to read *you*.

I agree here, Josh. I'd rather you use your time to work on your ongoing projects and get 'em out the door. :) Many of your projects are looking very interesting, and then there's the much anticipated Dragon Boy waiting patiently in the wings.
Not to worry. I value your opinions, that's why I asked for them. It probably is wiser for me to focus on new projects right now.
And yes, it is absolutely flattering that the opinion seems to be that nobody else could do the characters justice. :-D
So that's okay! I've got a zillion more crazy ideas where that one came from!

I'm just on the fence about the fanfic in general I guess. But then, how clearly can one be thinking when running on an average of two hours of sleep a night? Lol, today's been a horribly blah day.
What else was I going to say... Oh yeah, I AM in agreement that you should be concentrating on all those other projects. I'm stressed out enough for our whole group so you don't need more of that!
I always start my Xmas shopping around September, picking up a few things here and there as I think of them. I avoid crazy malls and last minute shopping unless I'm buying something perishable. And no, I don't want to have to start that all over again so soon. That being said, I want my Christmas codas!!!!! So it can be Christmas today, if that fits in with your schedule. :-P

You are always good, Antonella. So is the story. And there are some great, understated humour going on :)

Thanks, Anne. I'm enjoying it. It's such a simple, linear little story. It's very fun to write.

In fact you are right, because I've just decided to register with Wattpad: I just feel too guilty not leaving comments!

Thank you! I just came back from the town centre and as I was pedalling I thought that I should have checked if the next chapter was up...

I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I realized yesterday that unless I am going to cut a lot of corners (which I guess I could do so long as I reinstated them in the final published version) it's going to be longer than expected. ARGH.

I think we all understood that there are practical concerns and a lot of demands on your time, but I don't imagine you to be the sort who'd be happy cutting corners. - )

I'm curious... do you ever have stories turn out to be shorter than you were expecting?

The Darkling Thrush in that I decided to cut off and make it two or more stories. That's the only one I can think of. I tend to visualize a very pared down story so if it changes, it's usually to expand.

So we have 2 more books for The Darkling Thrush???? When will they be out???

Leave him alone! He is working on Dragon Tattoo Boy!

I do hope so. I think the main takeaway for writers is they should be doing the social media things they enjoy and are good at. I'm starting to wonder if all the craziness we see on line does not partly stem from people trying to be too many places at once. Having to come up with smart and useful things to say all the time is probably more than most of us are capable of -- thus lots of nekkid man photos and snarky reviews.

God knows we need more of those... NOT!
