Leea | 1437 comments That's too bad you hated it Stacia. I haven't kept up with that series, I blame her writing the books out of order. ha!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I find most HEA menage triangles to be unbelievable in books. The only one that I sort of bought into was Rough, Raw, and Ready (Rough Riders, #5) by Lorelei James but it was easier because the person fell in love with both of the people at separate times.

In Double Time (not really a spoiler but some people don't like knowing these details ahead of time), (view spoiler) It was all a little too convenient. I think it should have been a m/m book instead of a menage.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I read the first two in that series and had to give it up. I just didn't care for them. Especially Jessica in the second book. I hated that girl with a passion. LOL

I have to say, though, the woman can do steam.

Stacia, i'm sad to hear u didn't like Trey's book. he's my fav character in the series. i was anticipating a great read from that one. i'm on Eric's bk now and Trey is next. i know his bk is a threesome, but ur thoughts on it needing to be a m/m sounds good. especially considering how much he loves Brian.

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Finished Body and Soul (PsyCop, #3) by Jordan Castillo Price I was on the fence about this series up to now but if the rest of the books are this good, I'm in.

message 6259: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Each book got better for me, but by three I was hooked too. The next few are my super favorites!

Excellent! Yeah, book three just sucked me right in.

Courtney | 159 comments Finished Her Ladyship's Curse (Disenchanted & Co., Book 1, Part #1) by Lynn Viehl and probably won't continue the series.

Leea | 1437 comments Ted, I deleted your comment because True Love 101 has a no author promotion policy.

message 6264: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Thanks for taking care of that, Leea.

Over the weekend, I finished reading The Longest Holiday by Paige Toon and Thirteen Weddings by Paige Toon . I just started Fractured by Dani Atkins .

message 6265: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Burned through the rest of the Psycop series. In the end, it wasn't about a romance or the myteries - I was in it completely for Victor. Great character!

message 6266: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Yay! That's how I feel too. Victor number one, and then I did like his romance with Jacob.

message 6267: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Wendy F wrote: "Yay! That's how I feel too. Victor number one, and then I did like his romance with Jacob."

I liked Jacob, just that the romance evened out into a relationship without a lot of drama later on. Which was nice.

message 6268: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Yeah, it totally did, and I agree, it was nice. Romantic angst is not the driving force.

message 6269: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Got Then Came You (Animal Magnetism, #5) by Jill Shalvis off NG. Super fun, sexy contemp. Perfect summer read!

message 6270: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 159 comments Finished Riveted (Iron Seas, #3) by Meljean Brook and really enjoyed it!

Going to start Just Imagine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips .

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments You know what I'm sick of?

Men who treat women like idiots!

Portrait of a Dead Guy

It's all, Now don't you worry your pretty little head missy. (that's not a quote, but it might as well be)

When she isn't playing the doormat in the school play, there is enough that I like that I'll probably finish it.

Fans of Historical Romance...let me just say, The Duke's Holiday is amazing! Drop a duke with OCD into one of his estates which has been run quite well by a woman with mismatched eyes who wrestles pigs. Then let the laughs begin.

Portrait of a Dead Guy (A Cherry Tucker Mystery, #1) by Larissa Reinhart The Duke's Holiday (The Regency Romp Trilogy #1) by Maggie Fenton

Ian, I think that should be the official synopsis for the book! I'd totally read it based on that. The actual one - eh, maybe.

message 6273: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Finished The Duke's Holiday (The Regency Romp Trilogy #1) by Maggie Fenton based on Ian's synopsis. :) LOVED it!

Also read The Rise And Fall Of Great Powers by Tom Rachman which in the end I didn't find the payoff worth the read.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Hahaha, I'm going to read that one!

message 6275: by Domino (aka Meme) (new)

message 6276: by Ian (last edited Jun 08, 2014 03:36PM) (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just started reading After the Golden Age by Carrie Vaughn and I'm really struggling. Not with the book, that's OK...there is a problem with the technology. I keep tapping the page to turn it and nothing happens. Finally I just go in and manually turn the damn thing.

Seriously! It's no wonder people went from books made of paper to digital copies! It's surprising that the old technology lasted over 1500 years.

After the Golden Age (Golden Age, #1) by Carrie Vaughn

message 6277: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 159 comments Finished Just Imagine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips by SEP and was really frustrated with the direction of the story and the characters. Definitely not a favorite of mine by SEP.

Going to start Any Duchess Will Do (Spindle Cove, #4) by Tessa Dare .

message 6278: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Stumbled across Cross & Crown (Sidewinder, #2) by Abigail Roux on release day yesterday. So of course had to read it. I think I'll probably just read anything with these characters. It wasn't the best of her books - too much policework not enough relationship. But I love Kels. Still lots of fun and heat just like I expect from Roux.

message 6279: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i'm kind of burnt out on Roux's stuff, haven't read the last Ty/Zane book and too cheap to buy the first book in that series

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished reading All I Want Is You (Coral Cove, #1) by Toni Blake and it was cute and fun.

message 6282: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Dark Soul The Complete Collection (Dark Soul, #1-5) by Aleksandr Voinov - very dark and twised m/m. I liked it. Liked the mob setting, liked the messed up sub assassin, and it's a smorgasbord of kinks. Something for everyone.

Also read Invisible City by Julia Dahl - I've always been fascinated by the Hasidic community and it was interesting to see a mystery set here. Solid story.

Oh...Jilly just read that and wasn't all that impressed. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts. I love the 'turning her life around after being mistaken for a prostitute' part of the synopsis....but the rich guy / poor girl thing and setting it in Seattle kind of makes me want to puke.

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just started Rock Chick Rescue. It's a hoot! I have some issues with Kristen Ashley's rough around the edges / near enough is good enough writing ... but all that disappears with the audiobook. The audiobook is awesome sauce!

Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick, #2) by Kristen Ashley

I didn't really get a rich guy/poor girl vibe off it. Her family wasn't poor. She'd just made some life decisions that hadn't gotten her anywhere financially yet. And Seattle could be a filler for anywhere. What did bug me was that in the first half she veered between super sunny and self-denigration. But it got past that. And really, I was so happy that the book was actually funny that I was willing to forgive a lot.
