I ran down the step, practically knocking Tyler down in the process. "Oh my God! Did he kill you?!" I asked, my voice muffled from Tyler's chest. I was hugging him so hard, my arms hurt. "I'm good..." Tyler said. Finally, his arms wrapped around me, and he hugged me back. Gosh, he was warm.
I just wanted him to hold me forever and make it all go away. Why couldn't life always be like this ? Would it be so bad if it was ?
Just then I heard the footsteps behind us.
Just then I heard the footsteps behind us.
Katy came clicking down the hall. "I don't think your dad killed him Clair..." Katy said, pointing out the obvious. "No... really." I said sarcastically.
"I'm not even kidding..." Katy said back.
That's why we were best friends. We loved each other.
Just then, then I realized that I was still holding Tyler. "Oh. Sorry." I said drilling holding onto him.
"I don't mind." Tyler told me. I couldn't help my smile.
"He said thanks. For getting to you. I asked why he was thanking me when you could have died." He paused. "He told me that he thinks you should stay with me..." Tyler smirked at the last part. "Oh. He told you that we should be a couple... did he?" I smiled. Tyler nodded. "I've never really listened to my dad..." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"Your dad's advise, most of the time, is really good. good I think you should take it..." Tyler told me. "I think another date wouldn't hurt..."
I can't believe he was asking again, when I ruined our last date... I nodded anyway.
"Good. Is tomorrow okay with you. I know of this place with food even better than mine." He had such a big head sometimes, but that didn't change my mind about him.
"Sure. What time?" I asked. I'm sure I was blushing."Don't you think it's weird to be living in the same house as you soon-to-be boyfriend?" Katy interrupted. I forgot she was there.
"Meet me in the living room at seven tomorrow. And as for living in the same house; I love the idea." Then he walked away, to get back to work for my dad.
I turned to Katy with a big grin on my face, but once I saw her face it faded fast. "What's the matter?"Katy sighed and said. "I just don't want to see you hurt. If you guys get really close and then something happens you guys will have to still live together...."
"Isn't that awesome?" I said. "Then we'd be forced to make up. Being, we'd have to get over it, and move on. But thank you Katy. That's why your my best friend." I walked over to her, and hugged her.
I pulled back from Katy, and said. "We should have a girls day. Oh, what about going to the boardwalk!?"
"ok" I said, but I knew it wouldn't matter where I was, my mind would be on Tyler.
On the way there Katy wouldn't shut her mouth and I didn't hear a word she said because I was thinking about Tyler.
"What are you going to wear? What colors? What kind of make up? Are you going to wear sweats again? You guys are just SOOOOO cute together..." she trailed off.
I guess she realized I wasn't paying attention because she then punched me in the arm. "What was that for?" I yelled at Katy."For not listening to me! This is important stuff I'm talking about!"
I laughed as she continued to babble on and one about nothing off topic of Tyler. Though,I didn't mind...
When we got to the boardwalk the first thing Katy made us do was go shopping, so she could have a new outfit.
"Which ones?" Katy asked, holding up a pair of pink flip flops, and a pair of lime green flip flops.
"The pink ones, they will bring out your tan more... well once you get one." I answered with a big smile on my face."Shut up you jerk! You don't have to point out the lack of tan goig on here." And just for that I smiled even bigger for Katy, I couldn't help myself for getting on her nerves. It was just so fun.
"Don't worry. We'll Sun tan tomorrow before I leave with Tyler." I told Katy, smirking. I walked over to a rack or short Sun dresses. "I like these. There cute. Which one should I get?" I asked, holding up a light blue dress, and a pastel green. "To get it, I'm getting both." I said, grabbing them and walking to the next rack.
Shopping with Katy was always a riot. I eventually even stopped thinking about Tyler for about thirty seconds.
I guess that's why we were such bff's....that and the fact she knows more stuff about me than anyone in the whole world and I can't afford to fall out with her or I'm D-E-A-D !
Katy snapped me way back to Tyler when she started leading me towards Victoria's Secret though.

"We have to get you a sexy swim suit, just in case you and Tyler decide to go swimming and you decide to almost drown again. Then when he gives you mouth to mouth you will look sexy." Katy said this all with a huge grin on her face.
"That is a very weird observation... but thanks for looking out for me." I told Katy, scanning neon bikinis.
I was looking at the racks, but wasn't really finding anything that was up to my standards. Until I was this neon yellow swim suit.
Katy then dragged me across the shop randomly picking up accessories.
We giggled our way to the changing rooms and I made Katy guard the door as I tried it all on.
I looked at myself in the mirror....the suit did NOT leave a lot to the imagination.
Katy peeked into the cubicle "Wow! Who'da thought you were hiding all THAT under your clothes ! Tyler will be blown awa-ay !"

I changed back into my regular clothes, and started for the checkout. Finally, we were on our way back home. Once inside, I made my way to the kitchen were Tyler was cleaning. "Hey! Your home! Did you buy anything for me?" Tyler asked.
"Oh, you have no idea!!" Katy jumped in.
I elbowed her in the ribs, and she winced.
"I hate you." I hissed at Katy. Then to Tyler, I said, "You can see the-" I cur myself off. Once I found my words, I said, "On our date. You really going to teach me how to swim. Only, do you anywhere where there's a pool? I don't know if I can handle almost downing again." I smiled.
"Cool" interrupted Katy...."How does tonight sound ? Cos it's clear for Clair !"
After that awkward conversation me and Katy when up to my room, and once she had closed the door behind her I started shooting her daggers.
"Seriously?! Katy!! Come on!! Really..." I snapped."What?"
"You had to?" I asked. She just smiled.
"Whatever. It's now four. I can't believe your making me do this..."
"I'm not making you do anything. You can always back out if you want, but we all know you won't back out. So all you have to do is thank me." Sometimes I hated how right she was.
The next two hours flew past in a whirlwind of preparation and indecision....I knew what bathing suit to wear..but what about my hair, my make-up, my scent ?
Katy didn't help with her giggling and her suggestion we had a glass of Dad's good wine to calm my nerves.
None the less Six rolled around and date time was upon us.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do...which is a pretty short list..." smirked Katy as she pushed me out the door.

Tyler was sitting his Jeep, music blaring. I smiled when I noticed he was shirtless, and his trunks were hung low on his hips. Damn! He noticed me staring, and turned the music up, twisting his baseball cap backwards. This way, I could see his beautiful eyes. And damn, they were sparkling.
"So daddy finally let his little girl out to play ?" he smiled, flashing teeth like pearls from a mouth made for kissing.
"Very funny. And actually, it was Katy who made sure I had just the amount of makeup to look 'perfect'." I told Tyler. His smile dissolved a little."You don't need makeup to look perfect." Tyler told me matter-a-factly. Another reason why HE'S perfect.
"Thank you." I squeaked out.
"Let's go for that swim..." he winked, patting the seat next to him in the jeep.
The whole way to Tyler's friends house we had the radio loud, and were singing along with it. Tyler kept druming along with the songs, and sometimes letting go of the wheel, and playing the air guitar. I was scared half to death, but also was laughing so hard my sides hurt.
Once at his friends house, whom he called Otis, we got out of the Jeep. I noticed Tyler was carrying two towels and sunscreen.
"Oh my gosh Tyler, I'm so happy you remembered the towels and sunscreen because I toatlly forgot all about it. Your such a life saver!" He was perfect, I don't think there is a flaw in that boy.
Tyler smiled his smile..."I'm glad you didn't bring sunscreen...that means we'll have to take turns rubbing each other with mine"
O M G ! I nearly had an accident right then and there. The thought of Tyler's hands rubbing across my body was almost more than I could handle. This day could only get better.

"Way to play it cool and slow....." smiled Katy.
"Dick !" I smiled back.
