I started going to female physicians & dentists only. Found out I had advanced endometriosis, was completely infertile because they waited so long to do anything. Had two intestinal surgeries and a total hysterectomy by the time I was 40.
Women are often not taken seriously - and as we get older, it gets worse. But I would castrate the man who told me I wasn't a good mother. If you need me to drop in on this guy while I'm out in Virginia -- let me know, Jina! I haven't done a good beat-down in a long time! LOL.

Emily sent me an email for the cookbook. I don't know if it is because I sent in a couple of recipes , if you get it try the egg nog ,you will never buy egg nog again.

Periods and PMS is Hell!!! It's the one complaint I have about God's creation plan. I plan on telling Him that too when I get there,(not that he doesn't already know, I have complained enough about it to Him over the years). Poly cystic Ovarian disorder runs in my family and my sister has endometriosis. She and her husband tried for nearly 4 years to get pregnant this last time. And guess what???? I will be an Auntie again any day this week and if Baby Boy Powers doesnt come on his own, my sister Joni will be induced a week from today!!! I can't wait!!! She has one other child, Hayden Bryce. He was 6 last February. He was a preemie. My sister sneezed when she was 20 weeks along and her water broke. I will post a picture of my sister and my little man Hayden. I wish Doctors were all taught a way to have a good bedside manner in regards to listening to their patients. I think everyone would be a lot happier.
Thanks for the offer to straighten out the dentist with the horrible disposition. And even though my heart was broke, I have come to the conclusion with your help that he spoke out of turn. He dont know me and has no right to make snap judgements of me. Everyone who knows me or even spends an hour with me and my girls knows that my world, my life, is my girls. I eat, sleep and breathe their care everyday. I am tenderhearted and so It bothers me what people think and say but I will get over this and be better and stronger for having dealt with someone so hateful. Thank you for your friendship. It makes the rough days so much easier.

Hi Linda,Glad you qualified for the VA loan ,that should make it easier. Any houses you like? One thing about the VA they were really good at finding all the faults in Houses when we were looking. I don't know if that is good or bad if you have your heart set on a house.

Linda, you will be in our thoughts as you continue to "wait in the hallway" - You've made progress, so I take that as a good sign. It takes longer than it used to, it seems - after the real estate crash, they've added so many new pieces to the puzzle. We have faith and will hold on to it for you!

Dear Group,I hope you all dont mind but I need to ask for your opinions on something. I have been debating asking this question but now I am at my wits end and need a fresh opinion. What is a good fund raiser? In June we did a motorcycle benefit ride for Heather and raised almost $700. Which helped a lot. But if I dont find work soon we will lose the Dodge Durango. I dont know what else to do. We pay over $100 a week out on medications for Heather thats not including Sarahs meds, my husbands meds or Heathers supplies, (adult diapers, wipes, formula for her gtube, feed bags, ointment for her bed sore, for gtube, for where her trach hole was that is still healing and so much more). We make payments each month on over $50k of medical bills that medicaid didnt cover. If anyone has any ideas or tips or advice on how to keep our head above water I am open to any and all suggestions. We wont file bankruptcy. We dont believe in it. We made these bills we will pay them. And if you have any advice on my getting work that will be greatly appreciated too. Even advice about how to make my resume better. Thank you.

Hey Jina, I'm practicing my one finger typing.lol I don't know if it is for you,but you could go to avon.com and sign up to be an online representitive. It's all on the computer and depending how much you are into it, you can make some extra money. I my self eas not a good one on one sales person but some people are really good at it. you might just go to the web site and check it out. Hope you are doing well. I am healing well. If you do an online business you will have your own website and will not be competing with anyone locally. People from all over who want to buy Avon can go to the site and order. All you do is process the orders and promote your website to get new customers. My sister-in-law has done this with Mary Kaye for years. Another friend sells her crafts on eBay and Craftsy. Hi, Jina - I'm pretty good at looking at and updating resumés and would be glad to look at yours. Did you say you had a background in Medical Records? Insurers and all kinds of healthcare organizations are outsourcing lots of medical records work - you do it from home. Have you looked into that?

OK, Ladies -- my internet seems to be working, my operating system finally updated without incident, I found a new coffee maker, and the basics of my work life are well covered. I added a new optional thread today under Teardrop Lane, and later I hope to work on some special thoughts for Heartsong Cottage. I got behind yesterday - because of the internet, the laptop issues, and the search for the perfect coffee maker - and I'll be busy catching up today. Dear Group,I AM AN AUNTIE AGAIN!!! LANE COLTER POWERS was born yesterday before noon central time. My sister and my beautiful baby nephew are both doing perfectly. I will post a picture when I get one I can share. There is a story behind the name. My sister Joni's other son Hayden Bryce who is 6 picked the name "Lane". Colter came from a place they vacationed this last summer. Hayden's middle name Bryce is from Bryce Canyon where Joni and her husband went on their honeymoon. We are so blessed. I am so happy that my sister and her baby are happy and healthy. She was a high risk pregnancy so Lane is a true miracle. So glad to share this news with you.

Congratulations to everyone.
The pre-vacation countdown swung into gear this morning...and I am a bundle of pre-flight nerves!! We leave for San Francisco tomorrow afternoon, spend the night there, and hop a flight to Virginia (via Newark) Sunday morning. It will take all day, naturally. Then we have a 1-hour drive from the airport to Williamsburg, where Ray will start his conference meetings Monday morning. I will head out to visit my mom and daughter, who live 1 and 2 hours away, respectively. I think it's going to be a whirlwind for the next 10 days.
So what am I doing today? What any woman does before a trip - panicking. LOL. Actually, I'm cleaning like a madwoman (don't want the cat-sitter to see a dirty house, right?) - finishing laundry - starting to pack - and doing some more panicking. Why do we do this to ourselves, ladies??
Long story short (never!) - I'll be in and out a lot, but thinking of you all and checking in on our discussions at least once, hopefully twice, a day.
If you have little ones dressing up for Halloween - or if YOU are - please post some photos in the spirit of the holiday! Later, ladies!

Hi Jina,
I had a thought that might help with your medical needs and supplies. There are some state and local agencies that will help with that type of need. It can vary from state to state, but if you are working with any kind of social worker, they should be able to assist you. I have always been grateful for a social worker that helped my family with her advice. Best of luck.

Hi everyone! I'm sitting in the Newark airport waiting for them to call the last leg of the flight. Thanks for all of your good wishes! The flight was very pleasant and uneventful. Getting there, however, was a whole other story. Ray got a speeding ticket... We were late for our dinner reservations...late getting to our hotel, and had to get up at 3:30 am to get our early bird out of SF. This sequence of events is not unusual for us...Ray fancies himself a Formula One driver. The highway patrol didn't respect that notion.
I got some writing done on the plane and I plan to sleep the minute I hit the mattress tonight.
I hope you've all had a good weekend, everyone is well and you feel rested for the week ahead. I'll hop back on tomorrow.

So sorry about the speeding ticket. Been there, done that got the tshirt. I hope you have a fantastic trip. I was hopingthe girls and I could meet you since you would be so close to my stomping grounds but this week is murder for us. Monday-Sarahs cardiologist appointment and pediatrician appointment. Tuesday School meeting for IEP for Heather, homebound school at the house and physical therapy at the hospital, Wednesday-pick up Heathers supplies for the month and appointment to get Heathers computer looked at. Thursday drive Sarah 3 hours to preoperative appointment for orthodontic surgery which will be Friday at 7 am. After which I will drive 3 hours home and collapse for a nap. Have an awesome week!
