Thinking of you all this weekend as I try to unwind from an uncommonly busy week at the computer. Website issues - most of my own making, sadly...slowed me down so I had to work twice as hard to keep up. I did a little writing and hope to do more this weekend now that I've finished Dreamweaver Trail...I think I need to work off the tension that book produced!!! Be safe and take care - I hope you find joy in whatever you are doing this weekend.

Sometimes just relaxing and clearing your mind can bring new inspiration to what ever it is you are doing.
I am tired and I intend to sit and read and maybe make a banana pudding for my boys later on. I have nothing pressing to do, and I am on chill mode.lol
Have a great weekend. Peace be with you all.

Dear Linda,Right before I read your message I had read my Daily Word ,I think it was for you!

True prosperity is no mystery—it is a manifestation of faith. Jesus gave us a pattern to follow. A crowd of 5,000 who had gathered to hear him speak needed a meal. Taking five loaves and two fish, Jesus turned his attention to God. He acknowledged his Source, gave thanks for what he had, and blessed it. He anticipated an abundance of food and a miracle occurred.
I follow the example of Jesus and give thanks in advance for what I desire. I share love with others and love returns to me. I give thanks for my healthy body, nourish it, and use it to serve God. I am vigorous and vibrant. I live in faith and gratitude and I am prosperous.
And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled.—Luke 9:16-17
I hope you don't mind me passing it along. Hugs Lola

My husband is on call at the hospital and has had 4 hours of sleep in two days. This weekend is absolutely crazy...people breaking bones and bursting their appendixes (?!?!?) right and left. It's very quiet here and I am doing some long-overdue catching up while avoiding cleaning the house. As usual.

Thank you so much Lola,
That was so sweet of you to share that with me.
It is just a reminder to me to stay fast on the path that God is leading me on and not to waver in my faith in His great power to overcome whatever obsticles come my way.
I have walked in faith a long time, and I have wavered in faith at times in my life as well. I have learned that trusting and believing that" All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose"(Romans8:28) is the only way to find true happiness in any situation. I have decided I am going to live a life of purpose. I have to stay strong in my faith to deal with day to day life. There is a place for us, we just haven't found it yet. lol
God bless you Lola, have a wonderful night.
Peace be with you,

Amen !You are welcome. I slept like a baby until our puppy started barking at the Chickens ,she would love to get in there and "play" with the Hens. We are starting to get at least 2 egg a day of the prettiest blue-green color.

Oh yum. Fresh eggs are so good. Is it true the color depends on what the chicken is fed ?
I'm not really sure, this is our first year raising chickens. I do know that the breed does make a difference in the color, we have easter egg chickens. I don't eat eggs but my hubby loves them ,the yolk is bright orange.

Happy Monday, friends! I did something unheard of yesterday - I didn't open my laptop. Not once. I jumped on Twitter for a few minutes last night to answer a few messages, checked my Facebook promotions page to see if my scheduled posts had gone up - but mostly, I watched football. It felt SO good to just sit with my husband and argue with the referees! And I had a chance later to have a long talk with a friend who lives in High Point, NC. It was a great day. I hope you all had time to recharge your batteries this weekend. I missed you!

I watched football all weekend ! Picked beets and roasted them to put in the freezer, yeah I get to use my new foodsaver!
We watched football all weekend too. Must be the time of year....I find myself wanting to make a big pot of soup and another of stew....ah, winter/fall comfort food!
I'm with you, Lola and Margaret - I made homemade calzone tonight to enjoy with Monday Night Football...I love this time of year!!
Great game last night ,well if you are Green Bay fans like we are. I loved the story on how Arron Rodgers was passed over in the draft. I think he is one of the best QB's ever.I used my new Foodsaver today ,it called a 2 in 1 and it works finer than frogs hair ! lol My old one had lost it suction, you had to lean on the top to get the vacuum to work ,this one you slide the bag in the slot and it pulls the bag in and pushes it out when it is finished, cool.
It was a fantastic game, Lola! I've always liked Green Bay, and Aaron Rogers is certainly destined for a place in NFL history. I have fierce loyalty to one team - my Seahawks - but I have a lot of respect for other teams and players. In this case, Aaron Rogers is a Northern California guy, went to college in the Bay area, and used to spend summers right here in Mendocino County, where is grandmother still lives. I try not to miss a Green Bay game.
I love that you are enjoying your new kitchen gadget! Here you are preparing your own food for storage, and I'm patting myself on the back for cooking two nights in a row! LOL.

Funny the Seahawks are my other favorite team ,great minds lol. I got so mad today , I have a mole in the garden. I was pulling carrots and the MF ate the bottom half of about 1/3 of my crop. So I went and ordered a mole chaser for next year , it is a solar thing you stick in the ground and it send out a sonic blast every 30 seconds and drives the little buggers crazy. YES!

Wow! Another Friday is here and next week we start Teardrop Lane!! What's everyone doing this weekend? Who's in the path of the rain? What are you reading? I'm starting my fall housecleaning, reading two books, editing one, beta-reading another, and taking Sunday pretty much off social media so I can write. I'll let you know how much of that list I get done on Monday. My husband is on call at the hospital - again - so staying home is our only option. Hope you all have a blessed, safe, peaceful weekend. Hugs to all.
Hi everyone! I am still having major problems with internet. It has been very frustrating and my provider cannot seem to figure it out. What is bad is this is going on approximately the 4th week. So I haven't been replying much since it takes FOREVER to do anything. Gets very frustrating so I give up. Really thinking of changing to a new company if they do not get it together and keep it together fast. I have been able to read most of the comments but please forgive me for not replying. Even tried at work and it has been crazy so that hasn't worked very well either.
Just finished Hannah Howell's If He's Daring, I love that series. I am now reading J. D. Robb's Festive in Death and listening to Janet Evanovich's The Heist. Last weekend we celebrated my granddaughter's first birthday. She is such a precious little one and so very cute. Love her laugh and her smile. We then celebrated my father in laws 89th birthday on Monday. Lot of celebrations this month.

I've had painfully slow service for weeks now - I understand the frustration. We only have one company that provides service on this side of the valley, and because we live in the boonies, we get the leftover equipment from the major cities, usually when they upgrade to better stuff. Rural life can absolutely stink in the age of technology!

Last weekend we cel..."Paula I have to say I love Maya Banks KGI series and I had high hopes for Hancocks story. I so loved her earlier books in this series and liked the latter ones but not like the first ones. The downfall started with Donovans story which I really wanted to be excellent. I do not know if I explain this well but there seems to be so much internal conversations with each character and not much interaction with the characters that it drives me bonkers. I get so frustrated with the inner conflict and discussion as to why this relationship is good or bad, or why this will work or not work, or why she/he is the way they are, or how I can help them. I truly get so bored but cannot stop reading until the end. Does that make any sense?
That is why I love Emily's books along with other Authors. They have so much interaction with the characters and they make me laugh and cry and feel so many emotions with the story they are telling. Maya Banks has that but it gets lost somewhere and I do love the stories she tells.

Dear Group,It's been a real busy day. It started out with Heathers homebound teacher coming to the house. Yesterday when Heather was logged into her Odysseyware to submit an assignment when she clicked into a fillin the blank box to put her answer in, we got sent a virus to our computer. It was called "pc keeper" virus and our Norton caught it but she couldn't finish her test so her schoolwork is on hold until they fix it. I called the school yesterday and reported it and printed out the results of the 6,269 errors it automatically tried to send to my computer. The errors were dated and time stamped so they can see it happened when Heather was logged into the school site. Her teacher says if our computer crashes because of it she will ask the school to replace my computer. Anyhoo we are hoping the Norton got rid of it. (Crossing fingers)
Then we had to take our Jack Russell Little Bit back to the vet. She is still miserable and so they said bring her in. I took her in and turns out her was dehydrated and had a fever but thankfully no infection from the surgery. They think she is still in pain from it and traumatized from the experience and being away from us for that whole day. They gave us an antianxiety medicine for her to take for the next four days so hopefully by then she will be fine.
I got home so late in the afternoon it was too late to start a dinner so we ordered out pizza. I went to pick it up and after I paid I was waiting for them to finish boxing my order and another lady came to the register to pay her family's bill. She said "On the other side of this wall is a man sitting alone, he is in the Marine Corp and I want to pay for his bill as well". I thought that was such an awesome way to thank someone for their service to our country. He probably wont know she did it until he asks for the bill or trys to pay and she'll already be long gone. I told her that she is awesome and what she did was terrific and inspiring. My youngest daughter Sarah was with me andwhen we got to the car she said "Mama, if everyone did one act of random kindness in a year just think how nice the world would be. Because it would snowball and grow." I told her "from your mouth to God's ear sweetie". After what happened in Oregon yesterday I thought y'all would like to hear what that nice lady did. Peace be with you all.
Sincerely Yours,
Jina
Lola wrote: "I watched football all weekend ! Picked beets and roasted them to put in the freezer, yeah I get to use my new foodsaver!"How is your brother? Did he have the surgery? Did I miss a post or update about your brother? I hope all is well. Still praying for y'all.
Your friend,
Jina
Sorry I haven't told everyone ,he passed on the surgery . He is going to Houston to MD Anderson , I think that is the name, it is the best Cancer center in Texas, they have Doctors that are Bladder Cancer specialist . So no new news yet.Jina ,you remind me of the energizer Bunny , you just keep going and going. Hope you have a slow and peaceful weekend.
Wolf is looking for a ATV and wants to sell his Motorcycle. So that has been taking up our time. Looks like we may get some cold weather so I need to harvest my onions tomorrow. Thank goodness my tomatoes are in the greenhouse and I have a heater for it. I still have a lot of green tomatoes. So that and Football will be my weekend.
Lola wrote: "Sorry I haven't told everyone ,he passed on the surgery . He is going to Houston to MD Anderson , I think that is the name, it is the best Cancer center in Texas, they have Doctors that are Bladder..."Dear Lola,
I am glad he is going to that specialist first. Keep us posted and I will continue to pray for y'all and his doctors.
You flatter me. But sometimes I think I might meet myself coming or going somewhere. Lol people ask me all the time how I do all that I do, I just tell them "you just do it". If someone had told me 3 years ago this would be my life I wouldn't have believed them. But I look at Heather and she keeps going with a smile on her face so who am I to complain. I am grateful for every minute and for everyone who is in my life.
About your motorcycle, have you listed it on craigslist? People here buy motorcycles like its candy. If you tell me what kind and mileage etc... I can ask around and put it out there to the 20+ clubs in the area. A friend of ours just bought their 3rd motorcycle and paid to have it shipped from New Hampshire to here in North Carolina. Its just an idea. I'll help you if I can. Take care.
Your friend,
Jina
Dear Jina,I will put a photo of Wolf's cycle on the photo page ,it is a Honda vt600 red with flames decaled on the gas tank ,he replaced almost everything ,the seat, mirrors and the pipes. It is a neat looking bike. But now that he is retired he doesn't need it to go back and forth to work. And we want something that we both can ride on, I will not ride on the Bike.
It is cold and windy here today ,all over cast . How are the storms there? My Irish are playing Clemson ,tonight. They showed the students there sliding in the mud this morning on ESPN.
Tell your girls Hi from me! No I do not flatter you ,I am in awe! Hugs, Lola

I understand completely. That's the issue I've run into with this particular book. It's a good story, but there is so much internal dialogue that I find myself wanting to skim instead of savor. It started out with lots of action and suspense, but then it lagged. Sometimes it takes a while to get the feel of the story, so I hope that the action picks back up soon. I need to feel something - and I haven't yet. That could change in a moment, though...so I'm hopeful!

You all make me feel like I'm standing still!! Or going backwards....I'm in awe of all of you. I spent part of today cleaning the front end of the house. Tomorrow I'll clean the back end while keeping one eye on the NFL. Our team plays Monday night this week. Ray has to go in tomorrow for a couple of surgery cases and while he's gone I'm going to try to work on my story outline...my notes are random and seriously out of control.
All of these things pale in comparison to what you are all involved in so I will just admire you from afar!

I'm so glad that the Hurricane turned north earlier than expected and didnt make landfall here as was predicted. There is already terrible flooding from 2 weeks of rain before the tropical system was even around. I will post a couple pictures of some local flooding. Since we have been stuck indoors we got a lot accomplished with the cleaning and crafts this weekend. I will post a picture of some things the girls made for the giveaway. I hope y'all like what you see and what you may receive. Pkus if you dont happen to be a "winner" all you have to do is let Heather know your favorite football team or colors and she'll make you something. Its great therapy for her.
Paula, is it a possibility to make a "Emily's eternity springs fan facebook page" for all of us to join? Or is there one already? That way we can keep in touch and find out what we all are reading and doing.
Sincerely Yours,
Jina
Dear Jina,I am so happy to hear the storm is moving away from you!(*-+ ) the last part was from Sadie , she laid her head on my keyboard, guess she wants me to get off and play with her. Hugs Lola
Jina, I am so glad to hear the storm has moved away from your area. I have been praying for your safety. I don't get on here every day but I do try to keep up with all of things going on. We are doing well. The loan people finally got back to us on friday and we are going to start the process of pre-qualification. It is a bit scary for me as I have never bought a home before. I just trust and pray for God to lead us in the right direction and keep us safe from poor decisions. I have a lot of paper work to find and send off before the begin the loan process.
I am taking it easy today. I don't go back to work until tuesday so I can so laundry tomorrow. I am going to make lasagna and pizza tonight for dinner. My boys just love it.
Hope you have a wonderful day and stay safe in your home until the floods die down.
Peace be with you, my friend.

Jina it seems it is the time of major computer problems. Sorry you have had to deal with a virus. They are not fun. I am hopeful I am past my internet problems since I am having very good speed right now but don't think there are a lot of people on this early either. After your problems with your computer and your poor dog I know the act of kindness you saw had to be so uplifting to your spirit. That was such a beautiful thing for that person to do. I do wish there were more of that, but maybe there is and we just don't know about it. Aren't good works suppose to be done without boasting. So maybe people do them all the time and we just don't know. That would be beautiful also.

I read a fun book yesterday - a sports romance by Sabrina Bowen that comes out October 13th. It was sweet, light, heavy in all the right places, and a real treat. Her Ivy Years Series is hilarious but also very touching new adult romance. It made me feel happy to read it. That's what I look for right now, and why Eternity Springs ranks among my top favorite series. I always feel satisfied at the end.

My Daughter and I talked about my change in reading material , I used to read all the Stephen Kind & Dean Koontz etc. books , then 9-11 happened and the World became scarier than the books. My Sister turned me on to Debbie Macomber and I fell in love with community stories , I have reread Virgin River many times. I love happy endings.
Thank you Paula and Lola. I will look at Sabrina Bowen and Debbie Macomber. I love the stories with some suspense/intrigue/drama but that leaves you happy in the end and run the gamut on emotions. Use to read Dean Koontz a lot and Stepen King some but where I used to dislike romance it is my main genre now.

I read two thrillers back to back a few years ago that left me so terrified I haven't read one since. The first one was by Dean Koontz - called Intensity. It was a great book and I could not put it down, but it scared the daylights out of me. The other one was Kiss The Girls by James Patterson. I love romantic thrillers, and I love Dan Brown - but themes of violence against women are just too dark for me now.

I just reread or re listened to Nora Roberts 3 Sisters Island. I read almost all the Authors you do, I love Victoria Laurie's books & Sherryl Woods "Serenity". Right now I am re-listening to Caroline Fyffe & Debra Holland series, Mail Order Brides of the West, Caroline's part is "The McCutcheon Family" Series and Debra's is "Montana Sky" . I usually don't read Historical novels (or as Wolf refers to the as Hysterical novels) but since these were set in Montana I got hooked. I like how the 2 series intertwine and you see how the other characters are doing in all the books. I also was so interested in what women went through back when where I live was still a wilderness.Hugs,Lola

That is how I am feeling and why I read mostly romance. I have really loved Dean Koontz's characters. Watchers is a favorite of mine. As for James Patterson, I have decided to read nothing of his but Women's Murder Club series. Just too dark and evil on his other strories and WMC can be too but I really like ladies in the stories. This is like the other series we talked about where as the earlier books were much better the latter books in the series.

Now I or really my Brother are in the need of your prayers . Dave just found out he has Bladder Cancer, they are going to operate on Tuesday. He is the sweetest Brother you could ask for,..."
Lola, I will certainly keep your brother in my prayers, as well as the rest of the family as I know it is heartwrenching to sit and watch as a loved one endures pain and suffering. God is good and He will see you through this. Keep us posted on how things are going.
As far as the roaster goes, I bought mine at Target at the end of the holiday season and got it dirt cheap. Of course it is in storage now, but I do have one.lol
Well on the home front, the realty company that sent us the offer on the home loan never replied to any of my inquiries. I have written them off as untrustworthy. If they can't manage so send a reply to their offer I don't want them in charge of the biggest financial decison of my life. The problem is the hard credit check they did on us dinged my credit 44 points and I don't think we would qualify now. I called the guy I was trying to rent a house from and he is almost done with his refurbishing and is going to call me when it is ready. I will not give up on owning a home, I just think we need to continue to build our credit and save money for a downpayment. God is good and it will come when the time is right.
You all have a wonderful day and peace be with you.
