Paula, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom and pray she is doing good. I am off for three days and am going to try to get some rest after the crazy busy last few weeks and get some things done around my house. I hope you are still enjoying your time with family.
Today is our anniversary, We have been Married 45 years ! How can that be because I am only 45 lol !
Lola wrote: "Today is our anniversary, We have been Married 45 years ! How can that be because I am only 45 lol !"Happy Anniversary Lola. That is quite a milestone. My parents had their 61st this year. Really something to be proud of. We have 28 years. I have been married for half my life. lol. Have a wonderful day spoiling each other.
And my God bless you with many more years together.

Hello, friends - thanks for all of your well-wishes. I'm going to try to catch up with the discussion, since this week has been far crazier than I could have expected. We are now in Virginia Beach - but have been constantly on the go since we arrived, catching precious few minutes to ourselves and crashing at the end of the day. I hope you are all LOVING Heartstone Cottage and planning to try some more recipes from Emily's Holiday Cookbook! I'll comment when I can and check in as often as possible. I'll be home Monday...
Wishing you all the very best,
Paula

Well, ladies - I'm finally settling back in at home after a whirlwind week, and I have to admit I left a big part of my heart back in Virginia Beach.
Mom is very, very frail, and it breaks my heart not to be there for her every day. Layla, our granddaughter, adores us and we treasured every moment we were able to spend with her, seeing the world through her eyes. I would be the most doting grandmother on earth if I could be closer to her - not to mention how much help I could be to my daughter so she could continue her photography career on a part-time basis, at least.
All I can do for now is to prioritize going back to see them at every opportunity. Being semi-retired should allow me time to spend with mom as her needs change, at least I hope so. Ray and I talked about moving back, but we can't right now - financially there is no way to make the numbers work. But we set it as a goal, no matter how long it takes.
I'm seriously jet-lagged and hope to be fully back in gear by Wednesday - so bear with me while I catch up. I have an idea for a new topic that I might spring on you tomorrow!!!
Take care and have a wonderful evening everyone.

My thoughts are will you, I understand how you feel about being a long way from your family in their time of need as I have been in a similar situation with my parents & in-laws, although not suck get distance here in the UK. Try not to feel guilty or stress about it as you will do all you are physically & financially able to do and that is the main thing. Look after yourself otherwise you will make yourself ill.
Good Morning All,We awoke to snow this morning about 2 in. so far ,Sadie the puppy, loved her first snow ,the chickens not so much lol.
Hugs Lola
Hi, all -- Wow, Lola - SNOW! We got rain yesterday and the citizens of California were dancing in the streets. We are getting snow in the Sierra, and I can see Ray's wheels turning about when he can strap on his skis and head for the hills. Fall has finally arrived in Ukiah after a late heat wave that took temps into the 90's while we were in Virginia. It is absolutely delightful to see the leaves finally turn and the chilly mornings arrive. Now if I can only get used to waking up in the dark - and having earlier nights...
Thank you again for all of your kind wishes while I was away. I just finished my second sleep marathon and am now feeling like myself again. I expect to be in the groove fully again by tomorrow. Today I have to unpack - since I slept through it yesterday.
Have a wonderful day and check out the new topic I'm adding this morning!

Congratulations & Happy birthday for Monday.
I've received an early holiday visitor -- Ray's cold has found a new host. It brought all of its familiar symptoms -- sore throat, headache, a low-grade fever, coughing and sneezing. Fortunately it hit now and not next week, and not week before last when we were visiting our family. But it is still a massive inconvenience.
And did I mention that our heater is broken, our refrigerator door is losing its grip, and there is a whining sound coming out of our security system (it's ancient) - that we can't turn off, even with the master switch? Happy holidays to us - we'll probably get new appliances and further in debt!
On the up side...
We finally have fall here - it rained like mad Saturday night, it's freezing cold in the morning (there was a little snow on the hilltops above the valley), and temperatures are in the 60's. It was windy yesterday and seeing the leaves blow around really put us in the Thanksgiving frame of mind. I've planned the menu and started the grocery list for two.
Ray is working 10 days in a row - his next day off is Thanksgiving. Then he's on call the weekend after as well. He's covering for a colleague whose wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so it's worth it to be able to do something for them.
I hope you are all well and your week is off to a good start. I'll be checking in as always.

Paula I am so sorry you are going through all if that. They say things come in threes but I believe you are on your second three if not third. Hope it gets better for you all.

That's what I get for getting cocky with him about not getting a flu shot.
I am emailing back and forth with our broker about the offer we put in for the house. They sent a counter offer I don't understand. But we are working on educating me, lol. I am trying not to stress it. Our broker is really good and I trust her. Well, better get back to it. Hope you feel better soon. Today is already better than yesterday for me so maybe it will be short lived. Blessings and peace be with you.

Take a deep breathe and take things one step at a time. Thinking about you.
Dear Paula,Sorry to hear you caught the bug! Remember soup and lots of liquids , with me it is sleepy time tea sweetened with honey when I have a cold . I like using local raw honey. Now lay back and do some reading.
I am going to get Heartsong Cottage on Audible ,Wolfs computer had to be sent in, not even 30 old and the keyboard stopped working. He has taken over my Kindle, so I need to get the audio book.

Hi, Linda - I got off to a rough start today but I got some new kick-a** cold medicine and it seems to be helping this afternoon. A counter-offer is not unusual in a competitive real estate market, and having a broker you can trust is invaluable. I will keep praying for you, please keep us posted!

Ray brought me some Twinings English Breakfast Tea and I'm loving it. I haven't made it off the sofa for long today, but all of the symptoms are well-managed except the fatigue. And I'm using my cats to stay warm...the heater guy is coming tomorrow! LOL.

Thinking of you too, Lesley! I've heard that a major winter storm is headed toward England. I hope you escape from it and stay warm & dry. This is a perfect day for reading and writing and all of my friends in this group are such a comfort!!

Thankfully we seem to be missing the worst of the storms on the East coast, just very windy, but the West coast is being hit with areas of flooding. Praying everyone stays safe.
With Linda's news and the cold calming down, I'm full of the pre-holiday spirit today! Got more done in the first two hours today than I got done in 18 hours yesterday.
Linda -- when you get close enough -- send us pictures of your house, if you don't mind! What a wonderful way to end the year!!

I LOVE YOU GUYS. YOU ARE THE BEST. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND GOOD WISHES. I have a picture, but not sure how to post it. I will figure it out. Have a wonderful day all. Time to get ready for work.
Hope you find your own miracle today. Peace be with you.
Linda Manthey
Dear Group,First of all, Paula I hope you are feeling much better. Secondly, Linda, YAY!!!! So so happy for you!!! One of my many nightly prayers was answered! I cant wait to see the photos! I wish I could help you move! But I read the post about you getting a home soon and the girls decided to make you a housewarming present so I know we will have a blast making that and pouring love and prayers into it while making it. I probably wont send it until you are in your new home so you wont have to move it.
I wont go into all the details right now but if you want them I will tell you. A woman who is a mother to one of Sarahs ROTC classmates tried to abduct Sarah from school at 1:27 on Tuesday. Thank God the school office staff called me and didnt allow the woman to get Sarah out of class. Sarah is being stalked by this family. The husband to this woman is sending messages to my daughter through his daughter "Good Morning Beautiful". We are getting ready to go to the sherriff with this and possibly get a restraining order. A lot more stuff happened that I haven't listed here but Im freaked out and we have emergency procedures discussed and in place and friends ready to come at a moment's notice. Please pray these people will go away and leave us alone and wont escalate their activity to try to take my Sarah. Thank you.
I am going to lock down the house for the night and double check everything and then I am going to try to get some sleep. Ive only had 4 hours since Tuesday. Love y'all.
Sincerely Yours,
Jina Gibbs
Oh my Dear Jina How scary !!!!! I bought a shotgun this year because we are so rural, do you have anything for protection ? Please go to the Sherriff . What a discussing Family! Please keep us informed , I will be worrying right along with You ! I surround your Family in God's White Light to keep you save! Hugs and Love Lola
I'm stunned. It's rare that anything surprises me anymore, but that really makes my hair stand on end. One of the things we should be able to take for granted among classmates & their families is the safety and well-being of our children. It certainly makes me wonder what else is going on in that household behind the scenes - and concerns me for any other children they may have. Please let us know what the Sheriff says and does.
Just a quick and uneventful update from me --- I was down for the count yesterday. The cold got the best of me. But having rested all day, I am feeling much, much better this morning, and thinking of you all. I'm getting ready to make my grocery list for Thanksgiving and brave the market. That just might send me BACK under the covers, but a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do.
Paula, you are so right. I am putting off my shopping list till this weekend but that will be it. So glad you are feeling better. I use essential oils in my life a lot, (Doterra is what I use) and I have been able to keep the bad stuff away so far. Since I started using essential oil, eating better and exercising I have not been to the doctor with an illness for over 2 years. Use to have at least 2 sinus infections a year. They have an on guard oil blend, which is a protection blend and helps you stay well. I use them for many things but my husband was getting sick last week after hunting and he used my flu bomb and felt a 100% better the next morning. I was shocked and happy that he tried it.
Jina, I have to say I am shocked. What is wrong with people. Sarah is in my prayers as are you and your family. I have to say your strength amazes me.
Hi All,I got my wings today !!!!! Just how I thought they would look. I need to find a nice chain so I can wear them.
I did a survey for the Outlander books, they have a coloring book for the series , wish there was a coloring book for Eternity Springs! I really like the Adult coloring ,takes me back to kid-dom.
Hugs Lola
