Half-Way point!!!

How many are for this challenge? 30
How many other challenges are you currently working on? None.
What has been your favorite book so far? That's a tough one. The Tiger's Wife (author under 30) or Sometimes a Great Notion (author never read before).
Least favorite? The Night Strangers This was for bottom of to-read list so I sorted my to-read list and chose the one with the fewest stars. They were right.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Hate is kind of a strong word, but I thought at first that First Frost (based on cover) was screaming to be made into a Hallmark movie but by the end I really came to like these characters and enjoyed the book.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? 15-20
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Mostly in order with a few exceptions based on availability at the library.

I'm not doing any other challenge because 52 books is pretty heavy for me already.
My fave book from the challenge is The Young Elites by Marie Lu. It's the friend-recommended week.
My least favorite I think is City of Bones by Cassandra Claire. It's from the movie week.
There weren't any books that I thought I would hate but loved instead, but the opposite happened a lot. There were also a few books that I thought would just be so-so but actually blew me away like We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.
I've changed probably 15 titles? I'm not sure, but that sure seems a lot to me. From the start, I wanted to have my list complete but I allowed for changing my own mind.
I really tried to do things in order but it didn't happen. Haha. I had to just follow my mood sometimes and jump around. It didn't help that I put a book I've been dying to read at such a late week like Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell which I put in book set in high school.
How many books have you read so far this year? 60 novels and 34 others (graphic novels, short stories, picture books...).
How many are for this challenge? 38 (for 32 weeks)
How many other challenges are you currently working on? 1 other
What has been your favorite book so far? Hollow World
Least favorite? It's between GoT2 and The Borrowers
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? No, but I enjoyed some books more than what I expected.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I've changed around 15 books since the beginning, others are from my original plan.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Mostly in order but I doubled weeks for long books and jumped ahead when I had some free reading time.

How many books have you read so far this year? 24
How many are for this challenge? 17
How many other challenges are you currently working on? none right now, I might pick up another one next year.
What has been your favorite book so far? Orange is the New Black
Least favorite? The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? I honestly thought I'd hate Grey by E.L. James after reading the reviews but I absolutely loved it.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? Too many to count, but maybe 20-30 times?
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I have definitely jumped around to what I wanted to read...this has a lot to do with the fact that I joined the group at week 10 lol
How many books have you read so far this year? 31
How many are for this challenge? 23
How many other challenges are you currently working on? 1 other traditional challenge, with an additional challenge to meet 25 books from he horror genre.
What has been your favorite book so far? I've loved so many books this year, which is awesome. So I'm going with Top 5:
1. Me Before You
2. Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
3. Horns
4. Big Little Lies
5. The Time Traveler's Wife
Least favorite? I was sort of disappointed with The Girl on the Train mainly because the characters were so unlikeable. I also may have had too high of expectations due to the hype and the fact that I waited for the hold to come through for a while.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? I wouldn't say that I expected to hate it but I was surprised by how much I liked The Time Traveler's Wife
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I've changed my list an absurd number of times! I really couldn't even estimate but I know that 23 of the current books are different than what was originally listed.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I followed the challenge for the first few weeks but decided that too much of my excitement comes from choosing my next book so I started jumping. I also read a lot of different genres so my mood dictates a lot.

I'm doing The Seasonal Reading Challenge here on Goodreads, and I'm working on different challenges/lists on www.listchallenges.com also. Among others I'm working on BBC's The Big Read and the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge.
I've read several good books in this challenge, but my favorites will have to be To Kill a Mockingbird, A Man Called Ove and Jurassic Park.
I really didn't like Lolita. I didn't like the story, the way it was written or anything about it.
I absolutely loved Jurassic Park, and I didn't expect that!
I've changed books about 5-10 times, but I'll probably make a few changes more.
I started out following the list, but I ended up jumping around a little.

How many are for this challenge? 28, I am afraid the rest are just comics, mangas or short stories.
How many other challenges are you currently working on? Just some monthly readings with other groups, but I always try to fit the book in this challenge too.
What has been your favorite book so far?
The Name of the Wind
Assassin's Apprentice
Anne of Green Gables
Cress
Least favorite?
Insurgent
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? I thought I wouldn't like Animal Farm, but I loved it ... but also happened the opposite, I thought I really would like Looking for Alaska and Fangirl, but they were just Okey. I liked them, but not as I was expecting.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I don't know, many times, 5, 10 ... I really don't know, but I am still doing it :S
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I have been jumping around since the beginning, the first two books I read, for example, were "a graphic novel" and "a color in the title" because they fit in another challenge I was doing at that time :D I also depend on the library and they not always have available what I need at that moment, so I am always reading what I have.

How many are for this challenge? 24 books
How many other challenges are you currently working on? none
What has been your favorite book so far? Anne of Green Gables or Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
Least favorite? The Trouble with Kings is my least favorite that I finished, which is a shame I really enjoyed Crown Duel by the same author.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Anne of Green Gables I've never seen the movie or read the book before and at first I really thought it was horrible, but I was told by too many people how great it was so I stuck it out and I'm glad I did!
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? too many times! But I think that's ok. Life is to short to spend time reading something you clearly don't like - why force it?
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I have jumped all around - partly because I'm using the library for a lot of books so as soon as I can get them I read that. Blessed are libraries and 2nd & Charles.

Wuthering Heights for sure!
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them?
I don't think so.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan?
Probably about five times now.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first?
Well I jumped around at first, then started to read in order but now I am already jumping around because it is weeks I have already read.

How many are for this challenge? 121 as I put multiple books on some week
How many other challenges are you currently working on? About 16 other challenges of varying length
What has been your favorite book so far?

Least favorite?

Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Not loved, but enjoyed my scary book

How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? Plan was modified and things moved around on almost a weekly basis.
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Definitely a jumper

How many are for this challenge? 36
How many other challenges are you currently working on? About 17
What has been your favorite book so far? Ender's Game (a book that became a movie) and The Giver (supposed to read in school)
Least favorite? Persuasion (more than 100 years old)
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? I didn't expect to hate it, but I was a bit sceptical about Heart-Shaped Box, but I ended up giving it four stars
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? Maybe 10... But I still have some empty spots, I don't necessarily plan everything ahead, just see where some books that I read for other challenges might fit in.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I'm a jumper, but more because of other challenges than because of what I would want to read first. I've completed the first 15 weeks, but after that it's more "jumpy".

I guess I'm just a fairly quick reader (although nothing compared to some other GR members I know). I don't concentrate especially on short books, I think they average between 200 and 400 pages per book, with some big books thrown in every now and then. I also listen to audiobooks during my drive to work, so that gives me an additional "reading" hour five days a week. I tend to read multiple books alternatingly (i.e. read, say, 50 pages of one book, then switch to another), I've noticed that it helps me read more than just concentrating on one book at a time. And yes, I usually read every chance I get!

I get bored easily, so I need something to occupy me during the daily commute. If I had a smartphone, I would listen even more, e.g. during gardening and walks.

How many are for this challenge? 26, others are mostly audiobooks
How many other challenges are you currently working on? None! I thought that one challenge was a lot already and never thought I would be able to read 52 books in a year, looks like I've been mistaken ;)
What has been your favorite book so far? It's difficult to choose just one, but based on my ratings I'd say Jane Eyre or The Fault in Our Stars. It's a bit weird since I'm not at all a fan of those kinds of books, but isn't the goal of this challenge to broaden our horizon?
Least favorite? Definitely The Girl on the Train, the story was ok, but I hated the characters.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Jane Eyre! I've been afraid of classics my whole life, but they're not terrible at all!
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I haven't made a plan from the beginning, but I noted down different possibilities for each week and choose the book based on what I want to read at the moment. But when I decided for a book, I never changed.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Until last week I've been following the order, but now I wonder if I don't want to jump a bit for the second half of the challenge. Just to see what I prefer for next year ;)

which narrator do you listen to? I'd love to find a decent copy of audio books for HP, that is one series I wouldn't mind listening to while I was just wasting time around the house :)

I listened to the Harry Potters about two years ago as well. But I don't like the narrator making different voices during an audiobook, he/she should just plainly read the text, not act it.

How many are for this challenge? Only 10
How many other challenges are you currently working on? More than I can count. In addition to this challenge and the normal Goodreads challenge (for which I've set my goal at 50 books), I do the Seasonal Reading Challenge, and various challenges in the groups "Novel Books & Reading Challenges" and "Crazy Challenge Connection".
What has been your favorite book so far? My favorite book so far for this group (out of the 10) has been The Art of Asking; or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help (Week 4). My favorite for the year out of everything I've read is either that one or Station Eleven.
Least favorite? For this group, probably The Virgin's Lover. I like Philippa Gregory, but just wasn't a big fan of this particular book. Out of everything I've read, though, my least favorite was The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster. I just did not like any of the characters at all.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? When I first started reading Station Eleven I found it hard to get into and didn't think I would end up liking it as much as I did.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I didn't even fill in all of the weeks, and I'm still making changes.
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? At first I was somewhat following in order, but if I read a book for a different challenge that fits a later topic, I decided to put it there. Right now, though, I'm so far behind that I'm pretty much just reading whatever. :)

How many are for this challenge? 41
How many other challenges are you currently working on? I'm working through this list here, and trying to fit as many unread into the Popsugar challenge, plus I had a few self-set side challenges that I'm also trying to incorporate - reading a book from a few authors that I felt I should have read by now, and to read Moby-Dick; or, The Whale.
What has been your favourite book so far? Ack ... so many new favourites! I don't even think I could pick a top five. But I think, if I had to choose just one it would be Frankenstein. Or maybe Night. or The Color Purple ...
Least favourite? Sadly I've read a few duds too. I had a real visceral hatred for Lolita, and Life of Pi would have to be the most overrated piece of crap I've read in a long time.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? No, I have no great desire to read books that I think I'll hate, but I did enjoy The Color Purple a LOT more than I thought I would.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? All of the times. I don't think it even closely resembles the list I started with, apart from the first book that I read this year!
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? No, I haven't followed it in order. For me, as the Popsugar challenge wasn't a week by week challenge, I had no compulsion to follow any order. I still find I'm able to join in a lot of discussions, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything. I get why people follow the group's order though.

This seems to be the common ground on both books from what I've seen people say about them. I was considering reading The Life of Pi, but have since changed my mind! Plus I'm not even sure what Lolita is about, but no one seems to like it so I haven't even looked it up haha

I've never read it but have no desire to for the exact reasons you say here. It seems that "once-upon-a-time" this kind of thing was somehow acceptable. Boggles the mind.

How many are for this challenge? 41 categories completed, but 50 books due to duplicates in categories.
How many other challenges are you currently working on? 2 -I am also doing the normal Goodreads challenge - I put my number at 100. I have the Rory Gilmore challenge more as a lifetime challenge. I'll pick maybe 5 books from there to read a year. (I haven't started this yet, but I will once this one is over).
What has been your favorite book so far? Soaring by Kristen Ashley but the one I'm currently reading - Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley might bump that off.
Least favorite? Slaughterhouse 5
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Not hate, but I didn't think I would like the memoir or nonfiction, but I ended up really enjoying Kitchen Confidential and Kamikaze Kangaroos.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I didn't keep track but it seemed like it was almost every week.
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I'm a proud jumper.

51, now reading The Great Gatsby, by Francis Scott Fitzgerald.
How many are for this challenge?
20, there are some mangas (japanese comics) in my list too.
How many other challenges are you currently working on?
Only the main at Goodreads, which I have surpassed (51 of 50).
What has been your favorite book so far?
Agatha Christie - An Autobiography Agatha Christie, by Agatha Christie and Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl (Pacemaker Classics, by Ann Frank. I discovered that I actually enjoy much more than I thought the biographical themes, I like to learn new things about life at different eras. It's really appealing when the stories are about women, because I get identified with them.
Least favorite?
Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer. I think the author could have finished his book in two or three chapters, so we could have learned about what happened to Chris a lot quicker, and much more enjoyable.
And I didn't understood the humor in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams. I didn't like that book at all.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them?
Maybe País de las sombras largas, by Hans Ruesch, because some reviews said in the book was animal cruelty. But it's part of the Inuit culture and the cycle of life, it's understandable.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan?
Maybe about 5 times, but it's still opened to changes.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first?
I didn't joined to the challenge in January, so I started later. I've jumped around in no order at all.

31 (not including a ton of children's books because I teach Grade 1).
How many are for this challenge?
24
How many other challenges are you currently working on?
Just the Rory Gilmore Challenge, but slowly.
What has been your favorite book so far?
House of Leaves
Least favorite?
Landline
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them?
Catch-22 (I'd tried to read it before but had given up. This time I persisted and loved it!)
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan?
Maybe about 5, although I still plan on reading my original picks, I'm still waiting on them from the library.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first?
In order from Week 14, when I found the challenge, but I've been jumping back to catch up on the first 13 weeks.

I'm ridiculously far behind, although I'm hoping to catch up, and so far I've only read 11 out of the 52 books. I'm currently on my 12th and 13th books!
How many are for this challenge?
All of them!
How many other challenges are you currently working on?
None! I'm having enough trouble trying to get caught up with this one!
What has been your favorite book so far?
I've been really lucky and I've loved or at least liked pretty much every book I've read so far. Although I think my absolute favourites so far would be The Color Purple , Battle Royale , and both the Veronica Mars books: The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line and Mr. Kiss and Tell .
Least favorite?
The Promise . It was my book for a book my Mum loves and it wasn't my kind of book.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them?
I thought I would really hate The Promise but, although it's still my least favourite out of the books I've read for the challenge so far and I didn't exactly love it, I actually did enjoy it more than I thought I would. There were none of the other books that I thought I would hate.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan?
I'm not sure I could even guess how many times I've made changes to my list! I'm constantly doing it to fit in books that I'm more keen to read. I'm not allowing myself to make any more changes though.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first?
I haven't followed it in order at all. I've jumped around since the start. I think if I forced myself to follow the weeks in order then I might be further along in the challenge but I'd probably enjoy it less. I need to be able to at least be able to pick what I read and when otherwise I'd get frustrated having to wait for certain weeks that have a book I'm desperate to read.

That's the same issue I have with audiobooks. I hate listening to audiobooks of fictional stories as I don't like the voices that the narrator uses and I'd rather use my own imagination. However, I'm currently listening to an audiobook version of my 'memoir' book and I'm loving it! It's narrated by the person whose memoir it actually is so it just feels like them telling you their life story and I actually really like it.

RIGHT?!?!?!?! lol I know I'm bad about changing titles. that's why I've left quite a few still blank so at least I'm not changing those haha

I know! Lol! But I'm trying to convince myself that I can resist temptation! (even though I definitely can't)

Other challenges
I belong to a book club, and have started a summer challenge at my local library. I am using the books from this challenge for that one.
Favorites so far?
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared
Lucky Man: A Memoir
Big Little Lies I am still listening to this one.
Least favorite
Anything by Steven King. I have tried to read 3 of his books, but just could not get into them. I finally finished Carrie because I listened to it as an audiobook.
Thought you would dislike but loved
Two Solitudes
Night Of The Caribou
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
All of these ones were suggested to me, and I really was not sure I would like them. They ended up not being to bad.
How often have you changed your plan?
I have not counted the changes that I made so far. Quite of few of my weeks have been left blank until the last minute. I have debated a few choices and changed them.
Are you following the challenge in order?
Yes, I enjoy the challenge of trying to find a book to fit the category each week. It gives the challenge an added depth. I also enjoy looking at the books others have chosen. There are many new authors I have tried because of those suggestions.

I love audiobooks for the same reason. I thought toddlers took up most of my time, but since my children are older with later bed times, my reading time has been disappearing. Audiobooks have increased that time.

I carry a book with me everywhere: to appointments, in the car while someone else is driving, even during commercials on movies at the movie theatre.
Audiobooks have now extended my reading time too. Since I have started using them I can read two or more books at a time. I have one book for bed time, on for everywhere else, and an audiobook for driving, chores, etc.

How many are for this challenge? 33
How many other challenges are you currently working on? BBC 6 Books
What has been your favorite book so far? Jurassic Park
Least favorite? Brave New World / The Last Battle (toss up)
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? The Stranger (love might be too strong, but I stopped hating the book)
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I've changed titles 9 times.
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? I'm a jumper.

What has been your favorite book so far? So many good ones to choose from... I am going to have to say Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson
Least favorite? Oh that is a tie between Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell and House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. I couldn't make it half way through either of these books.
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? Nyctophobia I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. I ended up really liking it. It scared my to the point that I set it down for a couple of weeks before I could finish it! But it was still a good read
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? None at all
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Jumped around a lot!

What has been your favorite book so far?
I can't choose! Let's do top 3:
1. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty (book with antonyms in the title)
2. The Martian by Andy Weir (recommended by a friend)
3. Still Alice by Lisa Genova (author I have never read before)

If I could give zero stars to Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, I would (500+ pages).
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them?
I can't believe I liked The Fault in Our Stars by John Green as much as I did (book turned into movie). Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel was another pleasant surprise (romance).
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan?
at least 10 if not 20
Last but not least:
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first?
I have been trying to read in order as much as possible, but I get most of my books from the library, so if there is a long waitlist for a book I want I might have to skip it for a bit or read it early (because it's my turn).
