Hello everyone! Soph and I thought it would be useful if we made a topic to store all the group messages we've sent out in the past. Hopefully this will be good for newer members who weren't part of the group back when it began, so didn't receive some of the earlier messages, and are interested in seeing them. We'll be updating this forum every time we send out a new group message. :)

We wanted to let you guys know that My Sibling the Mythical Being will be doing a challenge in 2015 and we want your ideas! The challenge is going to be to read books similar to My Sister the Vampire or My Brother the Werewolf in a certain way. We'd really, really love to hear any feedback or ideas you have. We thought we'd broadcast a message letting you guys know about a couple of things that have been going on in My Sibling the Mythical Being lately.

And finally, our group read of My Sister the Vampire is sadly coming to a close. Starting in June, we'll be reading through the My Brother the Werewolf series. Anyone who would like to join in is welcome - we know many of our members have yet to read MBTW, so we hope you'll take this as an opportunity to give it a go!

We’re very excited to announce that we are hosting a read-a-long of Sienna Mercer’s My Brother the Werewolf series! It will take place through the months of June to September 2015 - we’ll be reading a book a month, starting with Cry Wolf. We know many of you have yet to read the MBTW books, so we hope you’ll take this as the perfect opportunity to do so! On the other hand, if you have already read any of them please feel free to join us for a re-read and a chance to discuss with other readers along the way. Hello wonderful My Sibling the Mythical Being members!
We hope you all had a lovely summer and are ready for Autumn/Fall. This month we're finishing up our My Brother the Werewolf group reads with Tail Spin. (watch out for the appearance of some of the My Sister the Vampire crew in it!)
Next month, we're very excited to announce that we're going to be reading Half Minute Horrors. This is a collection of short stories that can be read in under 30 seconds by a variety of authors including Lemony Snicket, Margaret Atwood, James Patterson, Neil Gaiman and of course SIENNA MERCER! (woo!)
We hope some of you will join us reading these spooky tales. If you're into Halloween and all things scary why not try reading Half-Minute Horrors (HMH) by candlelight, though make sure to stay safe*.

We hope you all had a great holiday period and are enjoying 2016 so far! 2015 was a great year for My Sibling the Mythical Being. In January the group turned 1 year old, then in September we surpassed 50 members.
We did some major group-reading; in May we finished our My Sister the Vampire read-a-long and proceeded to read all 4 of the My Brother the Werewolf books from June to September. SPOILERS ARE ALLOWED in both these folders so be warned. We then shook things up by reading a collection of short stories which Sienna Mercer contributed to called Half-Minute Horrors, which was a bunch of fun (discussion here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...). Finally in November we read the most recent MSTV book Spooktacular. Over in the thread to discuss that we've been having some seriously in-depth discussions particularly about the mystery of quilts in coffins! (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) We've also been discussing similarities between Justin, Daniel, Ivy and Olivia in that thread which has been quite interesting.
And finally, have you ever wondered if Sophie would rather have to break into ASHH agencies to steal top secret documents or play in a football game with the Beasts from MBTW; or if Rose would rather have to be a vegetarian or have to drink blood in order to survive; or if Sage would rather have access to Olivia's wardrobe or Ivy's; or if Daisy would rather have to sit through an interior design lecture from Mr. Vega or an inner peace lecture from Mr. Abbott? Today we're bringing you a round up of the most exciting things that have been happening around the group. There's been a variety of great discussions going on so go check out the threads and join in. It's a lot of fun!
First up the 18th My Sister the Vampire book, Fangs For The Memories, released very recently (YAAAS!!) and we have already started to discuss all the things! If you haven't read the book you can check out the non-spoiler thread (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) to discuss expectations and thoughts on the cover, and if you have picked it up you can join in the discussion of all the wonderful details on the spoiler thread (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...). We're also discussing the possibility of another MSTV/MBTW cross-over on that thread so definitely check it out.
Over in the 'If it was a movie' thread (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) we have been discussing what we would like to see in a MSTV movie or TV show. Are there any particular scenes that would be great on screen or actors you think would be perfect for specific characters?
Have you ever read or written a MSTV fanfiction? We've been discussing them in all their glory (and occasional cringey-ness) here (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...).
We've also started an awesome project where we're putting together character profiles for the characters of MSTV and MBTW. We've started with the two main characters from MSTV, Ivy (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) and Olivia (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...), so if you know any random trivia about either of them come and join in the discussions.
Even with all the exciting things happening in MSTV we've not forgotten about My Brother the Werewolf! We're discussing the possibility of a 5th MBTW book and what we'd want to happen in it on the MBTW #5 Non Spoiler thread (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...). Exciting times!
On top of all this, there are quite a lot of Pop-Culture references in the two series and it's really fun to spot and discuss them. Did you know Ivy has read Jane Austen and The Hunger Games is referenced in Spooktacular [MSTV #17]? (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)

Hello members! We hope 2016's treated you well and you're enjoying the holiday season.
We're very excited to announce that My Sibling the Mythical Being is having another read-along for Sienna Mercer's awesome books. We'll start by reading the My Brother the Werewolf series; Cry Wolf (MBTW#1) in January 2017 and continue by reading through a book a month. The My Sister the Vampire read-along will start in May. This is super flexible - you can read some, all or none of the books at any time you so wish, but if, like us, you want a little extra motivation to read or re-read these books, this is the perfect opportunity!
You can find threads for all the books over in the group and we hope to have some great discussions as we read through them. They're always open and again how much you participate is totally up to you.
