I just finished
The Spook's Revenge (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles #13) by Joseph Delaney.
This one is Sci-Fi/romance. There is bad language but there aren't sex scenes. The author says there will be in #2 that is supposed to come out this year. When I first read this, I thought it was out of order but that was clarified by the plot. Also, it is a major geek series. It talks about gaming, has scenes at Pax, and some real characters. Meeting Mezzanotte
Literally just finished The Man in the High Castle. Not sure which of the ten books currently on my drive I will read (and finish). Likely to read more of The Time Machine before bed.
Just finished Brothers in Arms by Lois McMaster Bujold.Just started Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie.

Nice picks!
Ancillary Justice is straight up amazing so far. So much effective worldbuilding and the characters all so distinct and interesting.

This month I read
,
,
, and
Succubus Diaries Series
Pro:
Lot of sex
Funny
Awesome back story of Angles, Vampires, and Succubi
Quick read
Embarrassing Covers
Main Character not a virgin
Con:
Disappoint body shaming of her past self a great deal in the first book and slows down in the second book
Main character slut shames her friend A LOT
The boyfriends seem to not understand what sex every 2 days or dying thing
I was hoping for a more sexually liberated character but instead got someone who judges people for having sex even after she becomes (especially her succubus friend even though she could die and randomly takes shots at herself for being fat in the past. It was a bit disappointing honestly that she needed to changed into a thin big boobed goddess. I was excited to have a thicker succubus but it didn't happen. I do believe it was because the author herself isn't so skinny and maybe is struggling with it which makes me extremely sad if that is the case.
The boyfriends who changed her against her will really seem to not get that she could die if they cut her off from sex. The want her to be exclusive with just one so they don't take care of her needs and kind of get upset if she goes to anyone else. You can't do that!
As much problems that I had with the series I am going to still read them because they were fun. I really want to know if the three of them finally get it together and work it out.
Mamrie Hart's book made me feel lame and like I am wasting my life. I want friends to have Topless Tuesday with. :( I want to go on road trips and get dairy queen in every state. I want take strip classes. Man I have wasted 24 years of my life. I swear. I need a fresh group of friends not already settling into careers and worried about consequences.
Guys, I need your help. I'm trying to figure out the name of this book but I don't remember that much about the plot I just know the cover, kinda. The cover is kinda mainly yellow and tan. there's a profile of a woman with long black hair. I believe she's wearing some form of a roman/greek drapery. I believe in the plot she was a slave of some sort (somewhere in the middle east, maybe?) I think the book was published in the 90s. I read the summary on Buzzfeed some time ago and now I want to read it. If you guys know what I'm talking about please let me know! I know I didn't give that much detail but maybe somebody is a super sleuth!
Just finished Dawn (Xenogenesis #1) by Octavia E. Butler, an excellent scifi epic that I gave FIVE STARS! Something I don't often do.I can't believe how creative and original the story was. And, the best part, it was free with my Kindel Unlimited subscription to read and listen to. (Voice artist was top notch.) Of course, I now need to buy ALL of Ms. Butler's other books. But I'm money than happy to support this writer.

Maybe you should take an improve class. Both she and Ms. Day have. There has to be some cool out of the norm women there to drink and/or go topless with. (I'm working up the nerve myself to take a class through the local community center.)
Right now i'm on book 7 from Laurann Dohner's New Species series. I have been devouring these books and i just started reading them this week! These books are smoking hot and each book has a different couple and even though the female main characters have been very different I have liked them all! I'm extremely impressed with the author, it feels like she is reading my mind! Every time I start to get a little bored BAM! Something exciting happens and I'm sucked right back in! I really enjoy too how she keeps you up to date on the earlier couples as well and keeps them around in the story. I can't wait to try her two sci-fi series next! Sexy cybertronic men and alien warriars here I come!

I just finished re-reading the Raven Investigations series from Stacey Brutger. I really loved it and can't wait for the next one. I highly recommend it.
I recommend the Saga TPB's that I have been reading, it has adult humour and sex scenes but it's a refreshing and funny sci-fi/fantasy/space opera-ish comic series. I always burn through each volume in 1 go as I can't put it down.
I just finished reading The Fireman by Joe Hill and I really enjoyed it. I zipped right through it and find myself hungry for more of his books. However right now I am reading Everland and I am not sure how feel about it. I've run across some cheesy lines but I'm a sucker for anything Peter Pan.
Recent reads for me of particular interest here: The Duchess War by Courtney Milan
The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan
The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan
The Book of Phoenix by Nnedi Okorafor (actually I really appreciated the romance threads in this, not romance genre, but romantic
The Seduction of Lord Stone by Anna Campbell.
I just finished reading Leviathan Wakes. Not a bad book. I gave it four stars, I wasn't struck on the clinical Miller Holden Miller Holden way it was written but other than that it was a great book.
I just read
and I'm trying to figure out why I've heard so many good things about this one. I mean it wasn't really bad, but I wouldn't call it good either.
Has anyone read this one?

That's a series with a really weak first book, that gets much better as it goes. I almost didn't continue after the first one, but I'd already grabbed it at library. There's still plenty of better things out there, but book 2 onward is a lot more interesting.
I'm so behind on reading, I'm currently reading Tremontaine: The Complete Season One, which I'm enjoying a lot. I'm also still in the midst of Aurora, which I'm enjoying but is a slow read. Am pining for something lighter and easier and more romance-y though so may have to start a third book...
I have just finished reading Cinnamon and Gunpowder by Eli Brown, which was on a buzzfeed list of books that should be more well know. It is really good, about learning, loss and love, with an older female character.
I JUST finished reading "Heart-Shaped Hack" by Tracey Garvis-Graves. OMG! What a brilliant story. The laughs out loud... The smart and driven characters... The smouldering chemistry... The hot sexiness... And the love! Now on to White-Hot Hack... Woot!
I just finished reading "Archangels Enigma" (guild hunter #8) by Nalini Singh. I am really enjoying this series. I highly recommend it.
on a historical romance kick I recently finished Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn and am abiut to dive into The Lady Mist Likely... by Julia Quinn,Eloisa James! and Cinnie Brockeay
I just finished The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers - they were *awesome* beyond reason. I'm about to start Thorn by Intisar Khanani which looks wonderful!
I'm currently rereading the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I started with the prequel The Assassin's Blade and am currently reading Crown of Midnight (#2).I enjoy the characters in these books so much. It's well written, with twists, schemes, love, friendship and supernatural badass stuff.
Just finished The Leopard King by Ann Aguirre. For any who don't remember we read Grimspace by her back in May 2012! I really enjoyed this one, I thought the couple were believable, and interesting, and they really invested in the relationship in a real and respectful way, which was so nice to see.
I am currently reading Storm and Silence by Robert Thier. Smart, Assertive, Funny, Suffragette in 19th Century London that chases her dream of freedom and independence. AMAZING! Best book I have read in quite a while! Definitely 5 Stars!
The book is lengthy and very little sexy-time but I highly recommend it for the book club! The romantic tension throughout the entire book, between the main characters and the wonderful side characters, more than makes up for lack of bedroom scenes.
Even if you don't pick it for the club please give it a read. I am pretty sure all of you will fall in love with it as I have!
I just finished the ARC of The Edge of the Blade by Jeffe Kennedy, which I thoroughly enjoyed and now I'm rereading Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. I find I tend to reread her books at least once a year :)
Just finished the novella The Sparrow in Hiding, and it was a very very prettily done story. It's set in the aftermath of a fairy tale, I won't say which one here, although it's pretty recognizable early on if you're familiar with it. Very enjoyable.
I just finished 'He, She and It' by Marge Piercy, it was absolutely glorious. Originally published in 1991, there's a kindle rerelease for 2016. Relationships, familial, parenthood, motherhood, personhood, romance. Science fiction, dystopia - but not grim, Jewish community in the future, surviving climate change and societal breakdown, resisting multicorporations. It was amazing. A more demanding read than a lot of what I've read this year, but so worthwhile.
I just finished Infinity's Embrace by Anna Carven, book #6 in her Dark Planet Warriors series. I love the series (especially book #1), has strong heroines. I liked the relationship between the human heroine and the deadly Kordolian assassin and how they helped each other overcome various difficulties.
I finished listening to A Torch Against the Night and once again, the narrators were wonderful and brought the story to life. A terrific series.
I just finished The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon and thoroughly enjoyed it. A unique magic system and a good romance. It's fairly cheap to buy on Kindle--less than $5 if I remember correctly. Would recommend!
I'm reading Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron, and its really enjoyable. No sexy times, and barely any romance, but a unique take on dragons and mages.
I just finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell - which I adored, it was a fast read with lots of satisfying elements, and actually a coming of age that I really enjoyed reading. I am about to move onto Liesmith by Alis Franklin which looks amazing!
I've just started The Last Hour of Gann. I'm actually really enjoying it so far, but I'm also quite nervous, because I just know it's going to get much, much darker!
Liesmith was indeed amazing, so so good, excellent getting to know you romance with none of the creepiness from the mythology and souls arc which was a nice change. I also read an eARC for Carrie Vaughn's new book 'Martian's Abroad' which I also really enjoyed and rec when it comes out (not romance though).
