Josie, you should really give them a try! I've just started on #3
...seems I turned into a rabid fan in next to no time.
Finished
- ★★★★ 1/2 stars. The male virgin werebear was too freaking sweet for words! And the heroine learns to stand up for herself. Very nice. :)
Good, Ninab, I keep forgetting to read that one. I'll have to dig it out of the shelves.Nearly finished
and really enjoying it ;)
Sounds good, Ninab. I haven't started that series, but I have #1 and maybe that one too. Love that series, Sandra! Can't wait for #5 next month.
I'm listening to
and really liking it. And, I've started reading
. <-- this series (first book) surprised me b/c I typically don't like religion in my stories. The MC is very religious, but not preachy. The author wrote her in a way that her religious nature fit the character and didn't rub me the wrong way. Odd (for me), but nice b/c I really like the story/characters. I've been anxiously awaiting this sequel. Hopefully my expectations aren't too high.
Not sure book #1 is quite as good - I haven't read it but the glimpses I got of the heroine in that book (sister of the one in book #2) made me think she would probably irritate me. Just a forewarning not to judge #2 by #1, because Ramsey the werebear is just fabulous IMO.

I really enjoyed the audio of that series! I have only listened to the first two and am waiting for the third to be released in audio.
It's as good as the first Sandra, than I should try to get it read soon. Have you read the revised edition of the first book? Started
for a short read.
Yep, the deleted scene is buried on her website. One of you lovely ladies pointed me in the correct direction ;) Probably you Josie. LOL.I think the revised edition of #1 is actually better. The deleted scene just didn't ring true with Trey so possessive.
Me? Did you mean, Val? Though I have now added those books to my wishlist from your rec ;)I'm in a weird mood at the moment, can't really get into anything :(
I started reading
because I remember really liking #2 but it's not holding my attention.
Sandra wrote: "I've started

Just downloaded
in audio so I can read and clean at the same time.
Just finished
- excellent book, excellent series! Needed a PNR break so I decided to read some HR (historical romance) I had on my TBR list.
, which had been suggested by a Goodreads friend. Already over half way through, really like it. A good balance of story, romance and some mystery/suspense.

Valerie, you really should read this series! I did the same thing. Got A Hidden Fire months ago but kept putting it off. After hearing so many good things about it, I made myself read it and I'm so glad I did. A little slow to start with but well worth the wait. Hope you enjoy it, too!

Josie, not really, can't remember who rec'd it in the first place :(
Sandra wrote: "Josie, not really, can't remember who rec'd it in the first place :( "Not me for sure because I discovered it after you read it and posted on this thread. Funny how you can find good books by browsing this thread.
I get turned onto a ton of books by perusing this thread! :D Thanks, Ladies!Hope something catches your interest soon, Josie. I hate when that lull happens.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one, Lis. I have #12 TBR, but at this point, I'm holding off until I get my hands on #13.
I finished
this AM and loved it. I feel like a goob, but there's something about these two (to be a trilogy) that pulls me in and doesn't let go. I'm usually not such a gushing fan-girl over YA. I can see how this one would be a love-it or hate-it series for some b/c the MC can come off as whiny. But, not to me. To top it off, she's really religious (though it's more in-your-face-ish in the first rather than the second), which almost always turns me off a book/series. So odd, but there's no denying it. I'm a huge fan. >.<I'm hoping for more time to return to the audio of
b/c I'm really enjoying that one. It'll end up among my favorite zombie series, I'm sure. I've already bought those that are out and added the 4th to my wishlist.

I'm still listening Sweet Peril. I stopped half way to listen to Sookie's new book. But I stopped at the point where Anna went to Cali and wore a cute white tankini...(
Steph wrote: "LOL! How are you liking it so far? And, how's the latest Sookie book?"Hmmm. I will admit to enjoying Sweet Peril more. But internet morons have been posting all the spoiler info on Sookie, so I have to read it before someone ruins the story for me. It's okay so far, i'm 50% into my audiobook.
Charlaine Harris should have ended this series 3 books ago :)
More than the first book or more than Sookie? I'd read some warnings GRers shared about the spoiler blow out. WTF?! That's so wrong. Anyway, I've just made a point to avoid reading anything remotely related to the series, esp since I still have another book to read before the finale. I tend to agree with you. The series has gone downhill a bit for me over the last couple of books. But, I've been reading from the get-go and will not stop now. Bad or good, I'm in it until the end. LOL!
I love Sookie's series. I enjoyed Sweet Peril more than the current Sookie book, but Dead until Dark is one of my favs books. But I do love Anna & Kai...though I am really feeling Copano too
I agree that the Sookie series should have ended sooner. I have been getting the last 2 books from the library because I don't find them a good 15$ investment. I'll finish the series for sure...when my public library gets it. :(
val, I don't know if you have a Halfprice Book store by your house, but all the sookies books are like $2 at the one by my mother's house.Alas, my library has sookie on kindle, audio, paperback & hardcover. I feel stupid preordering Dead ever after, because the library got the audioversion in today just like I did. i could have saved myself the money if I had jsut waited a couple of hours:)
I've better getting my copies of the audio from the library. I have the books b/c I've been collecting them since the start, but I may wait for the audio.
I've got the first 6 books, picked up relatively cheap, I'm up to 5, but I'll be getting the rest from the library I think.
Barbara what did you think of Phoenix Rising? I've got it but keep getting sidetracked; should I push it up the tbr pile or leave it languishing till later?
I want to know too about Phoenix Rising. I think I see one person or another every month reading this book in the subway. I keep telling myself I'll start it but I'm trying to catch-up with my series so I procrastinate. In the spirit of catching up I've started
.
Sandra wrote: "Barbara what did you think of Phoenix Rising? I've got it but keep getting sidetracked; should I push it up the tbr pile or leave it languishing till later?"Definitely push it up the pile. It's a lot of fun if you like steampunk.
I finished two shorts.
(Amazon freebie) and
(Anna Strong series), but can't settle on a full-length to start next.
Thanks AH, GTK. Yep I don't mind steampunk, which is why I probably bought it, plus I must of seen some good reviews. LOL.Yay Val, I finished it yestereday ;)
Val, have you read Darkhouse? It's free on smashwords/amazon/kobo and is the 1st book of a really addictive series.
AH wrote: "Val, have you read Darkhouse? It's free on smashwords/amazon/kobo and is the 1st book of a really addictive series."I haven't started this series...i have the first book kindle freebie from amazon.
