* The woman dives back into the control room...*

*I make a face and look back at the dogs and cats* Take good care of her...we don't want her to get away, okay my darlings? *I then turn and head for the control room* Come out come out wherever you are. *I look around to see if I can see the woman, pushing with my mind*
* Lacy hits an odd wall or shield with her mind. Not like Mike's but more like some artificial shield. Through the door she can see the other woman fumbling to remove an access panel to the ship's controls. *
*I hiss at the woman concentrating on the panel and making it too hot to touch* No touchy!
* She rolls back, looks up ay Lacy and draws an energy blaster *This may or may not get past your force field, but if it bounces off it'll cook everything around you...I'll breach the wall and kill everybody!
*I cock my head to the side and just smile at you* Try it and see what happens.
* She jumps to her feet and begins firing at the walls around Lacy, at the ceiling at everything as she attempts to run past Lacy.*
*Each blast she fires flies up then turns direction and flies back me and is harmlessly absorbed into the force field. I throw my hand out and slam it into the woman's face, knocking her off her feet and knocking the gun free from her hand. I stand over her, glaring down at her* You should be one of those shaken by my power and now by the baby's power, especially when you attack the people we love.
*All is quiet. The woman lays at Lacy's feet bleeding while the other is held in check by the animals.*
*I lean down carefully and grab the woman roughly by the arm, dragging her to her feet. I drag her from the control room and to where the other woman is being watched by the animals and drop her friend beside her* Watch these two while I go check on Mike and Sophia. If they try anything, you have my permission to subdue them in any way you see fit, my sweethearts. *I head back to where you and Sophia are, smiling to see that Tor had not left his post. I scratch his head and look down at you and her* Hi...everything is okay now. How is Mike doing?
He's still sleeping. Will he be alright? Is it the ladies...again?
I'm sure that he will be all right. We just need to get him out of here and into bed. And yes it was the ladies. It seems that they we taking us to sell us to some people who like mutants and wanted to make profit off of us. It seems, love, that you are like us. You parents had mutant genes and they have passed them onto you. So that means we will have to help you cope with the changes and to help you come into your mutant powers like us. *I smile and gently place my hand against my stomach* Will you help me get him into bed, Sophia?
* Once they get Mike to sickbay (somewhat difficult because of his size) they find his blood pressure very low and his breathing shallow. The computer finds a neurotoxin circulating in his blood keeping him out. *
*I gently take your hand into mine as I read the computer readings.* Sophia, stay here with Mike, keep watching him and the computer. I'm going to go see where we are headed and to tie up the women so they can't make any more trouble for us. Okay love? *I smile and kiss her forehead before I head back to the control room to see where we were headed and where I can send us instead.*
*Once the women are secured in the brig Lacy goes to the control room. The ship is already in jump so the destination can't be changed. They seem to be headed to a place between 2 systems.*
*I curse under my breath as I read the control panel. I look at the two systems and make sure that the computer makes a loud alarm to sound once we had left hyperspace so that I could reroute our ship away from danger. I leave the control room, annoyed and angry but begin to breath as I feel the baby protest to the feelings. I allow myself to relax before I reenter the sick bay* Any changes, Sophia?
No...the machine says he's no worse. He just keeps sleeping. Strong Knight says that the ladies are doing something in their room. He hears scratching by the door of the jail.* Strong Knight is how the large mixed breed dog thinks of himself, but this is the first sign Sophia can hear his thoughts/*
*I smile at Sophia* Good you can communicate with animals as well. *I quickly exit the room and step in front of the room I had the women locked up in. I ready myself and open the door* Keep it up, ladies and I will freeze your booties for the rest of the flight.
*Just then you hear one shout, "not those two wires", then there's a flash from behind the door followed by the sound of an explosion.*
*I hiss and fall backwards from the explosion, making sure to protect my stomach as I fall* What in the world was that?
* The closed door is still in place but the seal around it is apparently blown as smoke seeps out from under and around it. No more sounds come from the room.*
*I shakily stand to my feet and move to the door, gently placing my hand against it but withdrawing it quickly. I quickly key the lock code, unlock it, and let the door slowly open as the blast had affected the door as well. I being to cough as more smoke seeps out of the opening door*
* The brig room is a wreck. The two women are obviously dead and look like broken manikins where they lay across the room. It looks as though they'd been trying to wire something into the door as they'd gotten into the locking panel.The room will need the droid cleaners. *
*I shake my heard and sigh heavily, looking around. My eyes come to rest on the bodies in disgust before I move to them and cover them* You two should have just stayed out and waited instead of trying to escape. Well I hope you two are happy. I leave the room and relock it so that Sophia didn't wander in and see the mess. I couldn't take care of the bodies just then because we were in hyperspace but once we were out of hyperspace that would be my first thing to fake care of. I pet Strong Knight on the head* Thanks boy for telling Sophia what was going on. Mike needs us now. He hasn't woken up yet. Shall we go and see if we can help him wake up?
* When you get back Sophia is trying to clamp the vein cuff on Mike's left are.*The computer machine says we need to put these on his arms so it can clean his blood. I can't get them on though, they're to big and heavy.
*I smile at her and gently take it from her hands and clasp it onto your arm.* We'll have to help you get stronger, my darling. *I sit down next to you and watch the computer as it began to clean your blood and help you stay comfortable.*
*The computer controlled process takes about a half hour as it pulls Mike's blood out, scrubs it and pumps it back into his body. The computer finally completes the task and reads out that there should be little permanent damage if any and that Mike should awake in a few hours. *
*I smile at the readings* Sophia, I think since it has been a long day, you should head back to your room and get to bed. I'll be heading that way in a bit myself. Strong Knight and Tor will be sleeping with you tonight along with your puppy okay? *Tor nudges Sophia's leg then moves to the door, ready to go, yawning visibly.*
Okay...but can I leave a light on?
Of course sweetheart. There are new clothes to sleep in on the bed waiting for you, love. A gift from Mike and myself. *I lean over and kiss her forehead again then ruffle her hair a little* Get going. *I turn back to Mike*
*After about 3 hours Mike stirs...moans...rolls to one side and blearily looks around. He grabs a pan and throws up into it, then lays back and moans again*What stung me?
You were hit by a knock out dart, Mike. Something else must have been mixed with it because it did a number on your blood. The computer had to clean your blood before you would wake up. The women were the ones who went crazy not the captain. Apparently our Sophia is like us with mutated genes. The captain's wife was talking about her mutation, how she will learn to flit, she can hold her breath in low oxygen for 5 minutes and a few other things. She already can talk to animals. *I gently wipe your forehead with a cool wet towel* They tried to escape the room I locked them in and they blew themselves up. They are both dead. I sent Sophia to bed with Strong Knight, Tor, and the puppy. *I reset the towel and wipe your face off more* There is something we need to talk about, Mike.
Something else? Wow. Okay, go for it...
*I took in a deep breath and put the towel down, letting it rest on your forehead* Remember when I said that Sophia would have children to play with soon enough?
* Mike looks blank and then comprehension sets in*Oh...are you saying, what I think you're saying?
*Mike rolls out of the bed.*
And you've been fighting?! Are you okay...want to sit down...do you need anything....how are you feeling???
* Mike looks like he's trying to think of something else to do as he tries to usher Lacy to a chair. *
*I laugh at you and let you usher me to a chair and sit down* I'm fine...everything is fine. And yes I have been fighting but he's been protecting us. *I pointed to a file on the computer marked baby where I had stored all of the ultrasounds that the ship had done for me.* I may not look it but I am 5 months now. He is growing just fine and I have only a tiny bump. * I gently rub my stomach* I'm sorry I haven't told you sooner. I was nervous and didn't think it was true at first...even with the weird cravings I've been having lately.
So that explains the sushi with pistachio ice cream.....
It's actually really good. You should try it sometime. *I giggle* I am sorry though that I didn't tell you sooner..it happened then that creature and the other stuff happened and this. It just got all hectic...
That's okay...really...just take care. Here let me program the ship to clean up the dead women. The droids will space the bodies and clean the room.* Mike stops and looks around from programing the ship*
Wait...what did the women try to do, I mean where are we headed?
We are in hyperspace right now. The droids won't be able to do anything at the moment so I locked the doors so that Sophia won't accidentally venture in. And as to where we are going...it's an a adventure. Somewhere that we haven't been before. We will be stoping between two solar systems. I have made sure that the computer let us know once we leave hyperspace so then we can find a place to jump to and get away before anyone knew we were there. It systems don't look familiar to me either love.
Great. Well, at least we have a little time to recover. Maybe we can freeze that room so the bodies don't...become a problem. Let me get showered and we'll check on Sophia and get some sleep.* Mike steadies himself and heads to the shower.*
*I smile and stand, heading into our room, stretching and sneaking a Snickers before you come back to find me so we can check on Sophia*
* When they get to Sophia's room they look in the door. There sheet is sticking up like a tent and a light shines through it. They walk quietly over and look under the seet.Sophia looks up from her Ebook and smiles.
I wasn't sleepy.
*I laugh* Oh boy...I see me right now. I use to do this when I was your age too. Don't stay up too late reading though okay? We want you to sleep.
* They kiss her on the forehead, pet the animals, and move off to their own quarters.*
*I slip out of the robe I was in, letting it fall onto the chair behind me, wearing a dark blue short lingerie. I slip into the bed and smile at you, patting the bed next to me*
Well....maybe I'm not too tired.....* Music comes up, scene fades*
*Hours later after a few hours of fun and sleep, I lay awake, watching you rest, gently stroking your forehead. I smile and carefully take your hand, placing it on my stomach, and letting you wake up to the feelings of the baby kicking*
*The next three days pass with them getting to know Sophia and Sophia them. They spend time laughing and not thinking about where they may be going.Then the ship begins it's automatic drop out of hyperspace.*
*The alarm hounds to let us know that we were about to leave hyperspace. I look back towards the control room then look back at you, my jaw instantly clenched, my eyes worried. I call to you with my mind so not to startle or scare Soohia who was off playing with the puppy* What are we going to do? I'm actually scared, Mike.
