Review:
I thought this book was okay overall probably because dystopian novels are usually a hit or miss with me. Either I really like them like them or I don't. I'm definitely going to read the next book in this series because I'm curious to see what happens next.
Items:(My copy doesn't match what Amazon shows when I search inside the book)
Lightning: "What were you thinking?" Brook asked as I stared out at the flashes of lightning that came again and again, almost without pause. (Page 232)
Sock: There were ladies riding one-wheeled cycles who wore the snow-white tulle of dancers paired with whimsical striped socks. (Page 266)
Shoulder: My shoulders fell. (Page 34)
Paper: Colorful bits of torn paper were thrown, tossed high into the air, and looked very much like feathers as they were carried on the breeze. (Page 81)

Sultry with a Twist is a wonderful contemporary romance debut about two childhood friends who get a second chance at love. June Augustine (her full name is Mae-June July Augustine - what a name!) is ordered to return to her hometown of Sultry Springs, Texas to do community service for an outstanding warrant related to an incident several years ago. She has been on the outs with her grandmother for years and has to crawl back into her good graces while she is visiting. June's childhood neighbor and friend, Luke, is also back in town and their chemistry reignites quickly. I really liked the progression of their relationship. They both experienced rough pasts so it was great to watch them reconnect. I fell in love with all of the characters and enjoyed the banter back and forth between them. There is a seamless blend of humor and romance that pulled me right in. I can't wait for Trey's story in the next book.
Moonlight: "The moonlight glowed from behind" ~ KL 519
Nose: "You broke your nose." ~ KL 161

Leslie - sky
Amy - nose, sky, belt, wind
Sheila - sky
Amanda - sky
*Note - Amy's list is longer only because she hasn't claimed items for the emergency vehicle yet.
Let me know if this list doesn't jive with what you have posted. I've been trying really hard to keep track.
Everybody have a great weekend. We are anticipating a big ice storm - gotta love winter.

I'm hoping I'll be able to claim belt with my emergency vehicle book. I'm not sure if gun belt is acceptable for belt so I posted the question in the discussion thread. There are other uses of belt in this book, but I don't know if it's part of a clothing or something.

Okay, Dawn is accepting gun belt so when I'm done with my book, I'll be able to claim belt.

Great job of keeping track, Sheila. I thought I had claimed everything but sky. Obviously I missed one.
Still looking for my rainbow!!

Yes that will be it for us for the game. If we can get all our books read and posted before Friday morning I think we will be the big winners of the challenge. We have been pretty darn lucky with Mr. Randomizer to this point. Other teams have had a harder time with him.

I will get my book done ASAP! Well done, Team Leader Sheila.

Finished 1/27 Rated ★★★★★'s.
Tess Gerritsen is one of my favorite authors and this is book 10 in the Rizzoli and Isles series. In this book there is a family massacres that leaves 1 teenager alive. The surviving teen ends up in a special boarding school in New Hampshire for damaged and traumatized kids. It happens to be the same school that Maura Isle's ward attends. Nothing is as it seems. Is this a school to protect these kids or were these kids saved for a special purpose? Boston PD detective is determined to find out. I loved it.
Rainbow - On a sunny day that bit of quartz would scatter rainbows around the room. page 128
Sky - Uncle Brian handed the equipment out of the house and set it up under the darkening sky page 12

I'll still have to read the rainbow book. I think we'll be able to complete this this week if everyone reads their books. Lately, I've been kicking myself with reading every chance I got because I want to go back to what I was doing last year where I was reading 3-4 books a week.

My BIG goodreads challenge is the Seasonal Reading Challenge which requires reading something like 65 or 70 books in a 3 month period to finish. I have finished each season for something like 10 seasons but am way off pace this season. I'll come up about 10 books shy of finishing which I have decided is OK. I finished one team challenge yesterday and this one is on the final stretch then I am just going to take it easy with my reading. I've decided I don't like feeling pressured to read a certain book in a certain time span. I guess my "free spirit" is wanting out! haha

Yup, I even amazed myself.

Review:
I found this book to be sick and twisted, but at the same time, I really liked the story. I can't wait to see what next adventure Jasper (Jazz) and company encounter next in book two, Game
Items:
Wind: Howie had his arm out the window, hand-surfing the wind currents. (Page 190)
Belt: He was fidgeting just a bit, two fingers on his left hand idly toying with a rough patch pf scuffed leather on his gun belt, near the canister of Mace. (Page 9)
Nose: For his troubles, Jazz earned himself a bloody nose and an undying, unstinting friendship. (Page 25)
Emergency vehicle: A police car was parked there, and the man inside had already noticed him coming. (Page 328)

If everyone can finish their Rainbow books before the next item is posted on Friday we will be the big winners!

Review
Gena Showalter is just an okay author for me and this was just an okay book. It's actually closer to 2.5 stars than 3 stars. In this Atlantis exists and it is populated by mythological and magical creatures. It's pretty dumb and I have a pretty high tolerance for dumb. But it reads quickly and is slightly enjoyable.

You all have been really lucky picking items too.

Amy and Amanda - how are you two doing this week?

I'm still working through my shoulder book which I should probably be finished within the next day or so since I'm going to be off for four days before I've to work again. I still have to find a book for emergency vehicle. I've a couple crime/mystery books on hand so there bound to be found in one of those books.
