Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments I love being a part of this group. I love all you guys! LOL.

12:53 PM. Just got back from getting a haircut. I found the movie, Let Me In at a 7-11 for only $4.96. How cool is that?!! I'm about to go try and get some reading done.

Did you guys hear that Edward Furlong, the guy who played the young John Conner in Terminator 2 is going to jail for six months?

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments WHAT?! I love Edward Furlong!!!! What did he do??

message 2156: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 12:00 PM. Eating lunch...er, well, about to. Turkey and cheese sandwich. YUM! Have a busy day this afternoon, and am already ready to go home to see my kitties and my husband. By tonight next week, we'll be at The Moody Blues concert! I'm so excited!

Hope everyone is having a great day! Tonight, I need to clean my kitchen, cook dinner, and READ!!! You know you are sick when reading doesn't sound any fun. And last night, I still didn't feel 100%, so I didn't read like I wanted to.

1:02PM Just finished Heartsick and will be shortly starting the Dark Tower, last book for the series, how sad it that? Hub will be home in about an hour and a half. He is reading 11/22/63 and enjoying it. So glad he decided to read it. My cat right now is going crazy. He is very playful for being 11 years old.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1406 comments What's the name of the book?

message 2164: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments Texas Wildflower. It was alright, but not awesome I didn't think :)

message 2165: by Christine (new)

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1406 comments What's that book about?

message 2166: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments 1:47 p.m. Determined to finish A Tale of Two Cities tonight. :-)

message 2167: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments It was a Western romance, the girl wanted to be a detective, and the guy worked for the government working to get Texas as a state. They argued all the time, it got aggravating. But aside from that it was alright. :)

message 2168: by Christine (new)

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1406 comments I would like that book

message 2173: by Victor (new)

Victor 3:53 PM finally out of school for the day. I had a really bad day:( Hopefully the rest of my day isn't as bad.

message 2174: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well I would think once you are out of school, it would get better. Me and High school didn't get along. I hope it does get better for you Victor.

Just finished working!
They have old seasons of Project Runway online, so I've been enjoying myself the past few days. I had missed several seasons. About to get back to it, then read later.

message 2179: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chris, I hope you found something to brighten your day. If you have access to Facebook, may I suggest going to George Takei's page? I always find something on there to make me laugh, even when I'm at my lowest point. Maybe it'll work for you, too.

6:45 p.m. EST Just up after a nap. Sort of hating to go back and finish that book, which is a bad sign, but I'll probably need to do a 2nd pass on Scott's book later this week, so I don't really want to DNF this book and start this series I need to read, either... I guess we'll see. Meanwhile, clearing out the e-mail that came in during the day.

message 2183: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 8:35pm ET. Chilling on the lazy boy and thinking about reading another 50 pages tonight. Bad Moon Rising is such a good read, and there is always build-up and then a, "DDAAAAYYYYUUUMMMM!" that happens... so just preparing for that... hahhaha LOL

@katy, thanx for the well wishes.
@victor, responding to ramblings with more ramblings... i am good at that!
@Chris; i hated high school, it was a hate/hate relationship. I did night school my senior year just to pass, because i refused to go to half my classes.

message 2184: by Victor (new)

Victor I'm not in high school yet, but I will be in about two years. I'm in seventh grade. 3 more months of school left:D

i hated middle school too... in fact, if something has the word school in it, i probably hate it. first day of 6th grade; i was walking up the stairs to homeroom at 8:05am and a boy yells and calls me ugly. everyone stopped on the steps and just looked. i was mortified. after that, everyone was on a death list... think ARYA.

did i mention, i hate school??

message 2186: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments Oh, man...Victor that sucks. Middle school is the worst. High School is...eh..a little better.

message 2187: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments College was actually the best...

10:32 p.m. EST Still finding myself endlessly distracted by other things, although the subplot in this book featuring Hassan-i Sabbah is pretty cool. I also liked the idea behind him using Medea's potion... very cool. I just don't like the Crusades or the fighting bits, which is weird 'cause I enjoy the fighting bits in fantasy and sci-fi. I guess 'cause this one is based upon reality, so it bothers me more.

10:55PM Well prolly gonna wrap it up. Did not get much reading done today. Too many distractions and I can't focus lol. Hope everyone has a good night. Think I may crawl into bed and try to read some. Night.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:21 a.m. EST Just finished letting folks know about the giveaway that just went live. In case anyone here is interested, it's here:

It's for the sequel to Stephanie Alexander's The Cracked Slipper, a retelling of Cinderella, from what I gathered.

message 2192: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:19 p.m. Took a nice, long nap, and now I'm ready to read! I recently accepted an offer to do a book-review feature for HeyZ Talk Radio's new magazine, and the first issue is out now, here: http://www.heyzradio.com/guide/marchi...
It's a little tricky to turn the pages, you have to sort of hover on the bottom-right until the page curls and then "grab" it with the mouse and pull it over, but it looks great. I knew Zita when I was working for the Corporate offices of Dairy Queen back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, before moving to Georgia. Anyway, clearing out e-mail first. It's lovely today and maybe by tomorrow it'll be warm enough for me to go sit outside for awhile and have some sun.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:40 p.m. EST GAH! Thought I had turned off the auto-update after the mess it made of my last computer, but nope, the computer announced it had to shut down, and it messed things up AGAIN... Took me a good 45 minutes to be back up and running... *sigh* Well, since the book I was reading I had to read on my desktop, I started a book of poetry to give me something to do, so I'm about a third of the way through Out of True by Amy Durant. If you like freestyle poetry, I'm quite enjoying it so far. She brings out some really interesting themes.

Need to make some quick Powerpoint presentations for my boss before he goes out of town next week. Can't wait for the weekend. I have decided to treat myself to either some breakfast or coffee on Saturday and a trip to the bookstore to read. Check back in with my favorite GR friends in a bit. :) Hope everyone has had a great day so far. :)
