Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Geez, Dan... I would HOPE you aren't going snowboarding right after a shoulder dislocation! I hope it heals quickly!

4:39 a.m. EST Wow, that was a marathon editing session, but I'm done. Found a number of plot holes, so I'll probably have it back in a few days for a 2nd pass. But it's a really fun story! I'll let y'all know when it's out.

message 2103: by [deleted user] (new)

Dan, hope your shoulder isn't too painful.

5:09am and catching up on GR. Coffee is really good this mornng. Puppy prancing around waiting for breakfast (eats at 5:15am and 5:15pm). Got a great night's sleep! Started Heartsick last night and it's really good. Planning a lot of reading today. A break this afternoon to go get my monthly blood test. (Wish I had better veins...) All-in-all feeling like a great day! Hope it's the same for all you GR people!

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1406 comments Dan what did you do to your shoulder?

message 2105: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments Well, I originally dislocated it in 2004 snowboarding in Montana. Then it popped out again a couple times in mixed martial arts class. I ended up having surgery on it and it was okay for a few year, until the other day. I tripped and fell on it. I know, sounds dumb. LOL.

9:37 AM. Going to the doctor in a few hours. I think I'll pass the time till then by reading. LOL.

10:29AM Had my great honey/cinnammon drink, ugh I just dont make it as good as hubby does. LOL But drank it anyway. Now checking on GR Looking forward to starting heartsick today! But gonna finish Radiance first Alyson Noel. Should be done in the next hour or two. Geez I love to read!

Dan hope your shoulder will be ok!

message 2107: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Dan, I've screwed up both of my shoulders with on-the-job injuries, and they hurt me all the time now. Best to stop doing that sort of thing... just avoid injuries, alright? Then you won't be hurting them all the time! Brilliant!

1:45 p.m. EST Up, checking e-mail. Then I'll read.

message 2108: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 2:20PM. Was so sick last night and this morning with a migraine. Ended up leaving work because my head hurt so badly, had blind spots, and even got dizzy several times. Boss sent me home, so I took a nap for two hours and I feel much better. Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

message 2109: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I hope you feel better Kathryn, I don't get migraines often but when I do they are horrible so I can understand. Take it easy and enjoy the rest of your day.

Dan, good luck at the Dr. office if you get this before hand. Otherwise, I hope it went well enough.

2:27PM and I finally have caught up with work, checking in and planning on hanging out here on GR the rest of the night. I am on closing shift today.

message 2110: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Migraines are horrible afflictions, Kathryn. I used to have chronic migraines, but thank Goddess they are infrequent now. Glad you're feeling better and hope it doesn't come back!

3:44 p.m. EST Just finished picking winners for the two giveaways that ended yesterday morning (oops) and scheduling another for Thursday on my blog (the sequel to The Cracked Slipper, if anyone is a fan; the giveaway will start at 12 a.m. EST Thursday March 7), and almost done clearing out my e-mail so I can return to reading. I told my husband if he was really nice to me, I'd let him use my laptop to play a computer game tonight. He brought me home a steak yesterday, so ... I know what's for supper tonight! Heh. On the downside we miscalculated the amount left in the checking again AGAIN and now we're in the minus... Dmitry had planned to pay for this computer with a check his mom sent, but he left it laying around and of course the Gremlin took it, so he had to ask her to send another. However, he's paid this week, so he can probably pick up his check early and at least bring us up to zero in the account... O.o GAH! Anyway, I found out how much he paid for this laptop and wow, he found a really good deal, less than $200. It was originally almost $400, so... REALLY good deal. And we'd have gone into the hole even without him buying it, 'cause our landlord hoards our rent checks for weeks and then posts them all at once, and that's usually what kicks us. Jerk.

Anyway, later y'all!

Ouch Dan! How did you do that? :( I'm still feeling sorry for myself about my sore thumb, I hate to imagine what your shoulder feels like. I hope you can get back into your martial arts soon, it sucks when an injury holds you up hey :/

Ok so there's the answer! Don't worry, I understand - I tripped and fell once and tore a muscle in my shoulder - it was soooo painful! Easier to do than it sounds lol :S

message 2115: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Michelle, I did basically the same thing. Wiped out one shoulder when I wasn't paying attention and walked into the edge of a door... HARD, and the other when I tripped and grabbed onto a pole to keep from going down and blowing out my knee, so I blew out my shoulder instead! Gheesh!

6:42 p.m. EST Taking a quick break from my book to send the author a note about some plot discrepancies I found. I'm not sure most people would have noticed, but I was keeping my "editor" hat on for this one because I'm editing the sequel to it next week, so I noticed! LOL Clearing out e-mail while I was at it. It was nice and warm today, but rainy. *pout* I need some sun!! WARM sun, please, not this chilly sun we've had the last few days...

message 2117: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments 8:04 PM. I went to the doctor today. He said no to the snowboarding trip this weekend and no martial arts for three weeks. He's also sending me for an MRI. On the plus side, they took X-rays of my shoulder and the doctor showed me that it's not actually dislocated, it's just loose perhaps. I'll find out more when I get the MRI done.

Dan, good luck with your shoulder, I would think it frustrating to not have any answers other than "no you can't do that" right now. Is there anything you can do to make it feel better while you wait for the MRI?

7:10PM and the store is busy, just nothing for a technician like myself to do. I have to look busy or else people get mad. Lol, thank you GR for making me look busy at work.

message 2121: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sounds good Kathryn, I do love stuffing in many forms. My Uncle makes this amazing White Castle stuffing for the Turkey on Thanksgiving. You casserole made me think about it and I'm hungry. Looking forward to going home to eat something after work.

Really want to get some reading done, but I need to fake busy and reading doesn't cut it.

Well, Chris, believe it or not It's not that painful. It just feels like my arm is not attached to my body right. I'm not sure, I could try strengthening it but I don't know whats wrong with it yet, so no basically I just have to deal with it. Yes it is frusterating not being able to do anything. I can't go snowboarding or to mixed martial arts class. I'm spending my free time getting caught up on my reading.

10:20 PM. Reading 11/22/63.

message 2133: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear you're having the migraines, too Alondra. Here's hoping I don't end up with one due to the extreme and rapid fluctuations in the weather lately.

Dan, I hope they can find the issue with your shoulder. I had one of my operated on a few years ago, and if you do have to have the surgery, GO FOR THE NERVE BLOCK! Seriously, it'll knock all sensation (and ability to move) the arm completely out for 3 days, pushing you over the hump for the most post-op pain. It's sort of annoying to have the arm just flopping around there, but by the time it wore off the pain was bad, but not nearly as bad as it could have been. However, here's hoping you do NOT need a surgery.

10:46 p.m. EST Just finished The Dreamer Genome and deciding what to read next. I see I have one I had a note to try to read before the 13th, so I'll probably do that one. The Waste Land . A little different from my normal fare, but it sounded interesting. My husband has to go in at 8 a.m. tomorrow (ugh), so he won't be playing any games tonight, nor will I have my steak *sigh* Hopefully tomorrow...

message 2134: by Chris (new)

message 2136: by [deleted user] (new)

2:22am, slept earlier and am now up to read. Winter storm started awhile ago. Snow and freezing rain. It's supposed to be bad for a day, but then it's going up to 50 degrees by Friday so it all will just melt. I'm not ready for time to change this weekend. The only good thing is that I'll be able to walk the puppy with hub when he gets home form work. Charlie is just a little too rambunctious for me to handle alone. Will go back to Heartsick when I'm done with this post. Ready for some coffee soon.

Make it a great day all!

message 2138: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Jordan, so sorry. Waking up with migraines is the worst. I used to have a problem with that in my late teens and around age 20; I would wake up in such pain, completely disoriented, and just start beating my head against the wall. Horrible. Hope you feel better soon!

4:22 a.m. EST Just checking for freebies on my Kindle wishlist (none today) and clearing out e-mail that has accumulated while I've been reading the PDF. I don't like the new version of Adobe that it on this computer, it doesn't let me do bookmarks. If I accidentally close the book, I have to scroll all the way back to the correct page. So annoying...

message 2139: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Thank you, Katy! Yeah that's like mine, except it also makes me extremely lightheaded and I feel like someones bashing my skull in! They usually last around 3 days, but hopefully the tablets will dull the pain a little bit :)

message 2146: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Dan, that image of Mel Gibson popping his shoulder back in always makes me flinch because I know what it feels like to pop it back in myself. I hope it heals quickly and the MRI can at least give you some solutions. That really sucks. Take it easy and if you have a sling I would use it to take some pressure off that shoulder. Good luck man.

Jordan, I hope you feel better as the day progresses. Sounds miserable.

9:09AM and I don't have much in the way of positive things to say. At work, so I will be around all day, but I am depressed today, I'll be fine I am just having a down day.
