Veronica wrote: "9:07 Finally relaxing and talking to my brother. His house was flooded by Hurricane Sandy. Listening to him vent."Veronica, I'm so sorry to hear that. Good thing he is okay, though. Glad to hear you are safe, too. Will be keeping all the victims in my prayers.
Veronica wrote: "9:07 Finally relaxing and talking to my brother. His house was flooded by Hurricane Sandy. Listening to him vent."oh goodness. as long as he and his family are alright, then let him vent. so sorry, and send condolences. that is horrible.

Yes. Katrina was crazy. What made Katrina so bad was the government did nothing for a long time. I know that area is still devastated.
This was rough. He just finished repairs to his home from Hurricane Irene. He's in Freeport, Long Island. I'm in Queens. We just have a lot of trees down. But there are parts of Queens where over 100 homes burnt down. This storm was historical. Now they are predicting snow sometime next week.

no wonder he is venting! living near the east coast is great, but it comes at a price. even living more inland like you do; it is still quite close. glad everyone is safe. i think he will be venting for a while. hopefully this is the last of it for the hurricane season.
Yeah. We still have snow. Two years ago we had over 30 inches of snow. And then a few snow storms that was hurricane like (category 2). This was all in the same year. Lately, the weather here has been very bad.
8:45PM (Veronica at least he is ok! That is good. Sorry to hear about his house though.)
I am now sitting here with my GR Missed you guys today! I was crazy running around all day! But I was with family so it is always a treat!

It's 8:19 am, about to figure out something for breakfast. Up a little earlier than I'd like, but I'm going to make the best of it and get some reading done until I have to get out and run several errands. (Terri-Glad to hear 1Q84 is so good! Can't wait to get to it and find out what its all about!)

I think its very good. But most people do not seem to like it. Its completely different than HP.
6:17PM Sitting here on GR and also reading The Land Neyond the Portal.
Veronica I was figuring there would a difference between the 2 titles. I was considering reading it myself, well...one of these days anyway.

It's 12:49 AM, and I just got off of the phone with my mother-in-law after talking to her for three hours. She seems VERY excited we're visiting in a few days. Missing reading....
It's 8:07am and I'm drinking coffee and watching morning news shows and updating GR. Very anxious for this election to be over. Enjoyed the extra hour of sleep last night--the puppy even slept late!
Kathryn, good luck on your trip--will definitely miss you!

It's 8:43 AM, and I am checkin up on Goodreads, Facebook, email, etc. waiting my husband to get up. Nice being able to wake up next to him for once. Usually he's already off to work at the hospital by the time I get up since he has to be at work so early. Thanks Terry! I will miss you, too! We're bringing our iPad so hopefully I'll get to check in on Goodreads every now and then. :)
It's 12:30pm and checking GR for a bit before I go through the kid's dressers. I'm actually procrastinating, it's a skill.
4:39pm ET; and I just finished reading The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volume I; finally!! I need a drink... i think. :/
6:00PM just got home, made dinner, now here checking GR and then getting back to Edgewise! (LOL awwww Alondra is that a good "I need a drink" or a bad?)
