I heard 9 so far Kathryn from a strain they are having trouble treating. So horrible.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Susan, that is so sad. The scary thing is there isn't a treatment or vaccine for it. Maybe we all need to be walking around with the white masks on to protect ourselves. :/ I had a great weekend! But, I'm paying for it now because I didn't get any of my housework done. Oh well. It's better late than never! :)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Good morning GR buddies. Up early this morning trying to figure out this new phone. So far so good.
Misty, I hope you get everything back to normal soon.

Kathryn, it is so scary, there is a family a couple of miles from here that have lost one daughter and the other is in the hospital. There community is trying to come together to help them. Unthinkable:((

10:11AM Sitting here with some coffee, texting Kathryn! hehe, and checking on GR. Hope to finish my book today, I should be able to with no problem.

SUSAN!!?? Which phone did you get? Did ya keep the Iphone?

message 9057: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC A lot of people get sick because they touch their face without washing their hands. I guarantee it. They open the door at a store then scratch their eye or rub their nose or whatever and not even realize they're doing it. Never touch your face in public--or anywhere--without first washing your hands and the odds of catching something go way, way down. I haven't a flu-like illness since like 1999.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:53 AM. Goooood moooorning, GR!!!! I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning because my sweet little baby bear Gizmo came and snuggled with me after Mark left. She makes it so difficult to get out of bed and not spend the day snuggling with her. :) Drinking some coffee and catching up on GR. I have already eaten cereal for breakfast. I've got to wash another load of a laundry and put some clothes in the dryer. That's all of the housework I need to do today, and I'm so glad because I am really behind on my reading. I don't like being in a reading slump. :( Hopefully I will get my books today, since they were supposed to arrive yesterday. LOL. I also hope I can get really focused into my book so I can knock out a big chunk of it. It's really interesting when I read it, but when I put it down, I get so many distractions like housework, Mark watching t.v. (especially DEXTER!!!!), etc, that I just don't pick it back up. I have a feeling if I just really immerse myself in it, I won't be able to put it down. So, I'm going to test that theory today. :) Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

message 9059: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (darcycornell) | 97 comments It's 2:18pm. I'm reading several books. My dad insisted I read "Demon Seed" by Dean Koontz. So far it's not that great. I wonder if it's because the main thought has been done so many times. ?

message 9060: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:00 PM. Got a few pages read, then stopped for lunch. I had a peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich. After that, I folded laundry, got another load in the washer and one in the dryer. All of a sudden, I have a slight headache, so I took some Aleve. Gizbear wants window-time and is watching for the postman. Going to read a bit more, see how my head feels, then exercise.

4:51PM had dinner, Aeverie is taking an early nap, he fell asleep about 3:30. Will have to work out a little earlier tonight because Kay wants the TV for a show she watches. Getting ready to dig into Triangles, by Ellen Hopkins. I have been dying to read this book. My order from Book Outlet came today YAY! Still waiting on the last 2 singles coming through Amazon.

8:54PM Had a decent work out. Aves is watching a movie, hub went to bed, son at work and I am here reading. Will devour this book by tomorrow!

Alondra I hate when that happens so much! And I too will roll my eyes, Hub says I'm sorry but continues to tell me what he wanted to anyway. LOL

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:26 PM. Goood evening everyone! I had a great workout today, and after I got cleaned up, Mark got home. I made fettucini alfredo with steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. It was yummy. I'm being bad and looking at books instead of reading. However, I'm about to get back into my book. Some coffee sounds yummy with reading tonight. :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ha, my husband does the same thing. If I talk to him while he's reading a book, he becomes all annoyed, but he's always coming in and yammering at me about his video games when I'm trying to read. The link I posted earlier is something pretty much everyone here should enjoy, so go watch and have fun.

6:42AM I am sleepy this AM, oh wait that is every AM. LOL I am thinking that as soon as Kay leaves I will lay back down as long as Aeverie stays asleep! Really enjoyed Triangles last night and will probably finish that up today some time. Good Morning GR!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:25 AM. GOOOOOOOD MOOOOOORNING, GRRRRRRRRRR!!! I have been up for too long already! Gizmo bear gave me a wonderful birthday present: snuggling up next to me all night. I love her. :) Anyways, today I plan on reading, maybe drinking more coffee since I can't seem to wake up, and possibly doing my YouTube videos. I *REALLY* hope the post office drops off my box today of books I ordered from BookOutlet. It was supposed to be delivered Monday, and sat on the delivery truck yesterday. (Do they forget most packages have tracking on them??) Ooh well, patience is a virtue. :) Happy Wednesday, everyone! :) Oh, and since my dad is out of town, he gave me my birthday card, which I opened this morning. It made me cry....:(

First of all let me start by wishing Kathryn a happy birthday! I didn't sleep well last night and I think I have a bit of the flu right now. Hopefully it does not last too long because I have school starting next week! Pretty much trying to take it easy today by reading maybe I can finish a book that might make me feel better:)

10:57AM I have been enjoying my read this morning and some coffee! I will have this one done today! Not as good as most of her stuff, but it still has some good storylines running in it. Her stuff is so fluid that you can't help but find it easy to read.

Kathryn Happy birthday girl! Hope your day is as wonderful as you!

Chris, glad you're feeling better! Were the kids and your wife sick as well? Your schedule must be crazy!

Chuck, glad to see you post, man!

12:03pm EST. Cuddled up under my great-grandmother's quilt, drinking coffee and catching up on GR. We're in the middle of a cold snap again. At least the backyard froze so I don't have to deal with Charlie's muddy feet. Having leftover chicken and rice for dinner with the last of the focaccia I made. Did the laundry and other chores yesterday, so I have the whole afternoon to read! I finished Middlemarch yesterday and I absolutely loved it! It's a book I had tried to read several times in the past and it just didn't click, but this time I was entranced. Sometimes it pays to be persistent! I've been on a roll of eating healthy and feeling good for (dare I say it?) several weeks, I hope it continues. Happy hump day everyone!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Thank you, Janessa, Terri, Janie, and Zoe for the sweet birthday wishes!! You all brighten my day! :)

12:43 PM. I guess my friend forgot about lunch today, but that's okay with me. It leaves me more time to read today. :) I actually got a great workout in this morning, and afterwards got cleaned up. Getting pretty hungry, so I'll go make some lunch after I post this. The postal service hasn't come yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my books. I'm hoping to be able to settle in and read for a bit, then do my videos, then read more until Mark and I go out to dinner. :)

Yes Janie I got the 5s. :) I like that the screen is a little bigger. I'm going to go to utube and learn about all the new features.

Yesterday started early and ended late. Got a lot accomplished, but tired today. Baking a pumpkin pie and have a New England boiled dinner in the crockpot. The house smells great. Hope everyone is doing great.

I remember liking the movie for Middlemarch a whole lot, never read the book, though.

Welp, my reading is out of control and all over the place, so in other words: life is good!

Trying to stay up on all the good books coming out--Amazon is pretty good for that: Latest Books

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Happy birthday, Kathryn. Sounds like it's off to a great start.

5:05 p.m. EST My husband just let me know that an old friend died day before yesterday. Unexpected, no idea why yet. I worked with him at American Dairy Queen, I was there when he was hired. I'm still feeling kind of numb about it. Have informed the authors that I'm taking the rest of the week off from editing.

Yes Teri my Daughter the 8 month old and I were sick together. My wife and son spent some time at the library to get away from us for a little while which was good. I'm hopeful that they stay healthy. Also, yes my schedule is tough. I get one actual day off of both jobs but work the other 6 days of the week, 4 of those I am at both jobs on the same day. Hope you are doing well and have some interesting books coming up in your to-read pile.

5:47PM Wanting to wish Kathryn a very Happy Birthday, hope it is a great one. Working tonight, last night I went to the Blues game with a bunch of people from my new job. The company bought a section and we got the tickets for cheap. It was a blast and my wife and I haven't been to a game in at least 4 years. It was so good to go back. It was a lot of fun and the Blues won so it was a fun evening.

message 9082: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Sorry to hear that you were sick Chris. It is extra hard when a little one is ill. I sure hope you get some relief from you job situation, at least you get a perk with one, games can be so much fun.

message 9083: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I love my new job, but things needed to change and it is part time = No benefits, and part time pay. The only reason I am working both is to keep my benefits and make up the pay I'm missing out on by working part time.

My boss and I are going to sit down and talk about what I need to do to go back to full time once my training is over so I am really hoping that by April I can quit my old job and finally get back to normal.

message 9087: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Janie your dinner sounds amazing. Did you make the egg rolls by hand or were they the kind you heat in the oven. I have always wanted to make my own egg rolls. My dad makes his own Wontons and Crab Rangoon. I usually do stir fry when I cook chineese.

It's not where we originally planned to go, but I am so glad!! Dinner was delicious. I had Teriyaki steak medallions, steamed mixed veggies, and a salad. Mark said we would get dessert on the way home, and it was going to be a surprise. He took me to Baskin Robbins and let me pick out an ice cream cake. It's Oreo! My favorite! :) We haven't cut into it yet, but we will soon. Mark is watching Dexter, I'm catching up on GR, Facebook, and such, and I'm going to read. Today has been a great day, and I'm so thankful for all of the birthday love. You all have made turning 29 a lot more lovely. Thank you. :) Coffee and ice cream cake sounds nice. :)
