9:58AM Ok so a busy day for today. Aeverie is still here, so we will be taking him home this afternoon. So my reading can get going really good this evening. I feel like I fall so far behind while Aves is here because he generally wants most of my attention while he is here. A movie can usually appease him in the AM, but after that it is mimi time. LOL So today he already watched a movie and did not even get through it and is asking me to play games. LOL So we will play some games, then we will get some lunch and then go into town after that and take him home. It will be about 4 I guess. Have to wait for Derek to get off of work cause he wants to go out too. So after this Aves will have my undivided attention.

I believe I want to read House of Darkness, House of Light. Maybe look today at the book store. It sounds amazing! Ok have a great day everyone!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry you're feeling unwell, Jordan; take it easy!

2:55 p.m. EDT Overslept my meds again, then finally crawled out of bed about 1 and finished Dexter is Delicious. One of my neighbors dropped by to try to borrow some money for her meds but I had none :-( I noticed there is a beautiful green spider with an iridescent back spinning a web across the door of the duplex next door (which someone rents for storage, so don't go in and out much). Now finally to read Double Dexter! Oh, I had bought a hardcover two years ago but now I couldn't find it, so I had to buy a Kindle version to read... This is why I try not to accumulate any more physical books, since I can't find them when I need them because it's such a mess in here... *sigh* Fortunately a friend had given me a $10 Amazon gift certificate, so that covered most of it. Speaking of, it's her birthday tomorrow, I'd best send her one, too! Hope everyone else is going well today!

10:14 p.m. and I haven't been home very long from a night out with friends. Plan to read for an hour or so and hit the sack. Hope everyone had a pleasant day. Jordan, I hope you are feeling a little better by now.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:22 p.m. EDT I have the biggest craving for wine right now. I don't drink a lot, but i like to have some now and again, and Dmitry just went to buy me some. Yay! And I'm reading Double Dexter and Dexter is acting so completely STUPID in this one I just don't understand it. *sigh* I hope it'll all be worth it! OH, and today's Vine had Cheryl Rainfield's latest, Stained Stained, which I was so totally PSYCHED to grab. I have a bookplate she sent me and now I'll have a physical book in which to put it! Yay! So it's been a pretty good day :-)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:22 PM. I'm enjoying some delicious green grapes while Mark is watching TV. I had a great workout today, then got cleaned up. I made 100% whole wheat pancakes, turkey bacon, and some cooked apples with cinnamon and sugar melted. It was soooo good.

My dad told me today, Grandma didn't have a good day. :/ it seems with her dementia, she was really confused. They moved her to the rehab portion of her nursing home yesterday, and Mark said this next week is going to be really hard for her.

message 6059: by [deleted user] (new)

Dementia is so cruel. Hugs to you and your grandma Kathryn.

message 6060: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Thank you, Cindy. :) Sometimes hugs really make me feel better. :)

message 6061: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments So sorry to hear that, Kathryn. My grandma had dementia the last years of her life, too. It's so cruel, as Cindy said :-(

11:46 p.m. EDT Dmitry made me some rice and beef (it was leftovers he warmed up), which was tasty. I couldn't eat much 'cause I haven't been eating much lately, but at least I'm not hungry and I won't be drinking wine on an empty stomach! Of course, it has to finish cooling first...

message 6062: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments It really is, Katy. It makes me feel so bad my grandma hasn't known who I am for five years. It really is a pain like any other, especially when you love someone so much.

11:08PM Got home about 9:45PM. Had a busy day today. We went to pick Amy up and then went to the books store of course. WOOT! Got some great books at great values yet again. Had some dinner about 6:30, then had to do the grocery thing because we were almost out of everything, and just now realized we forgot the lettuce. Go figure :/ So gonna go mosey over to the What have you bought lately thread. Then I will read a little before retiring to bed.

Kathryn so sorry to hear that your grandma had a bad day. Hugs!

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 8:29 a.m calming down after getting raging mad was the first thing I did this a.m. Sent a book out for pbswap last week, get a message this morning from the person saying that there were stains 'all over' the pages so they can't repost it, and they want their credit back. But that book was almost new, and there were no stains 'all over' it. So hence why I got mad. I'm feeling better now that I'm on GR with my friends, but man! I don't handle things that make me grouchy very well when I first wake up... Lol.

9:35AM So had a banana and some oatmeal for breakfast today. Hubby followed suit. Love when I can be a healthy influence. So now gonna do my 9 min mission and then have to run to the store to get the lettuce we forgot. Then gonna come home and read a little. After that I am gonna make a fruit sauce for crepes tomorrow morning. YUM.

Jordan, sorry you still don't feel good. Hope the new stuff can help out more. Sending healing hugs to you.

Kit, I can see why you would be mad. What the heck? So what do you do now?

message 6069: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments I went ahead and refunded the credit, but I asked them to please send me some pics of the supposed stains 'so I know what to watch out for in the future'. Shoulda waited for the proof before refunding, but this is the first time it's ever happened to me, and I got nervous, didn't want a bad mark on my account. Sigh... waste of a book :(

Anyway, it's 1:17 p.m right now, just got done at the laundromat, and now I'm just chilling for a bit before me and the little guy go to the grocery store, post office, and gas station. I think I'm gonna have to look at the books at the store to perk me up, lol :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:28 p.m. EDT *facepalm* I woke up about 8 and took a muscle relaxer, but forgot the rest of my medicine! I didn't notice until 2:30 so I'm really miserable right now with withdrawal from going too long between morphine doses. *sigh* I've done this deliberately before when I was trying to make up a dose (usually 'cause I dropped a pill 'cause I'm clumsy) but there is a way to do it without all the problems; when I do it by accident, it's really annoying. *sigh* At least Dexter's brain is back in this latest book...

But I'm not telling you!! *shhhh spoilers*

Alondra Miller 8:44pm ET. Just chilling and catching up on GR updates. Got my last book in the mail today. I got House of Leaves yesterday, and the friggin' book is HUGE!! I really hope it is good and creepy.

@Victor; I finally picked up 172 Hours on the Moon; with the creepy cover.

I think these books will be perfect for Halloween!!

message 6081: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:39 PM. I had a great run in one of my new pairs of shoes. I got cleaned up, while Mark napped, and went to buy my friend's son a birthday present since his 1st birthday party is tomorrow. I made dinner, did the dishes, cooked dinner, and made some brownies. I am SO ready for some coffee and reading. Well, hopefully I can read. I haven't been much in the mood for it.

10:04PM well we had a pretty busy day today. After dinner we went to the trails and I ran, not very far because Hub's knees were hurting so he did not fun. I felt bad leaving him behind on the trail. LOL Either way the walk/run was relaxing. So now hub is in bed and I have been reading more of The Stand and really enjoying it. I would like to hit page 200 in this and maybe switch back to Game of Thrones or Overrun, an ebook I have on my Kindle App. We will see.

Kathryn, Mark ROCKS! How awesome that he got you 2 pairs of running shoes! That's great! Hope you enjoy many miles of running.

Martha, it will get easier I promise!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:36 a.m. EDT Just feel like crying. Dmitry brought me shrimp-fried rice, which is my favorite, but I'm having a severe bout of colitis and the pain is making me nauseous, so eating solid food is right out. *sigh* I feel like just dying, so I guess I'll go to sleep for now and hope things look better in the morning...

Katy, I hope you are feeling better and you can enjoy your fried rice. I usually get Pork Fried rice and that reheats very well. It is almost better the second time so I hope yours is still good.

Martha 7:27 a.m. - Feeling very good today! Yeah! Yesterday I had the worst hangover I've ever had (and I have only had about 3 in my life). I don't really drink much, but somehow I got carried away with wine on my ride back from sending off my son in Tucson Thursday night and Friday I paid for it. I don't think I'll be drinking wine for a long while -- just not worth that horrible feeling. I feel like a new woman today!!

10:21AM Good Morning my GR friends. I have most of the day to read today, unless I get distracted with something. Hub and son both at work, Kay is still sleeping. She better get her fill of that because starting Monday, school comes.

I am looking forward to reading more of The Stand, and maybe I shall read more of A Game of Thrones. Would love to get these both done this month. LOL

Katy, hope you get to feeling better soon. I know it must suck for you.

Martha, I love wine myself and have to watch myself because I can end up drinking a lot of it too. LOL

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:45 AM. Good morning, GR! My friend's son's 1st birthday party is this afternoon, so I will be getting ready soon to go. A different friend asked me this morning to go on a local hiking trail with her this afternoon, so I am really looking forward it! I think I am going to read another chapter or so of A Game of Throne before getting ready. I finally read two chapters last night. This is a book where I need complete silence, so I need to get back to reading during the day while Mark is gone. I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks Rachel and Chris.

Chris, I'm not a huge fan of pork, other than bacon. I don't do very well reheating it, but Dmitry is very good; I don't know how he does it, but he always manages to reheat it so that everything stays nice and moist and tasty. I'm still at the point where I should not be eating solid food, but am not sure what to do about it... *sigh*

2:51 p.m. EDT Finally gave up on sleeping about an hour ago, just been going through e-mail and incoming blogs and such, doing my normal "beginning of the day" stuff. This book I'm reading is crazy weird, I have no idea if it's adult or young adult or what the genre will end up being. But it's an interesting story so far :-)

6:30PM Just had dinner, (sorry Katy) I made Lemon Pepper Chicken, fried rice and fresh green beans. Then I am gonna do my work in about 15 min. After that gonna watch the Cowboy game. Have not watched any of the preseason games yet. I generally never do, I wait for regular season to start, but will watch with hub. After that is over I am gonna read some more. And just as I thought, I can't pull myself away from Overrun to read the other books. LOL
