Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments So what has been updated this time I wonder?

message 852: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It'll have Flick's twitter handle and her FB page, no doubt! ;)

message 853: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments It's always had Flick's Twitter handle and Facebook page ;) But it does now have a signup for the mailing list, and of course the book's Facebook page.

It's not a major story edit, although there are tweaks here and there, a whole bunch of typos trod on. New cover, new graphic on the title page, chapter titles, cuddly toy...

Other than typefaces and physical page layout, this matches the 2nd edition paperback, which'll be out soon. (1st edition copies are still available, and no doubt will become collectors items...)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I turned on my kindle to download a couple of new books and got an instant update of Wanted. Titles and everything!

message 855: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Awesome! :D

That would explain why Wanted suddenly appeared at the top of page 1 on my kindle the other day!

Tim | 8539 comments After a brilliant day's writing yesterday (2500 words, major chapter sorted), I've been feeling quite rough all day today, and for the first time ever, I think, actually achieved a negative word count. That's not very good, not very good at all. :-/

Gonna pop out and buy some chicken soup. Don't tell Ignite!

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments Tim wrote: "Gonna pop out and buy some chicken soup. Don't tell Ignite..."

Are you going to use one of her chickens?

message 859: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ignite likes chicken soup - but not when she knows its name!

message 860: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Barrett | 1537 comments Heinz?

message 861: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Tescos.

Tried to swipe my Nectar card. Got told to stand in the corner. :(

message 862: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Ok, I redeemed myself a bit tonight - PLUS 450 words or so After Chicken. :)

Tim | 8539 comments Dodgy picture of me with the new look 2nd edition paperback, which has just arrived on the back of a DHL :)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments At least your wrinkles are only on your tee-shirt!

message 866: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments It's my special "I only have time for writing" T-shirt!!!
(actually I had to bung on the first thing to hand since I was literally just out of the shower when the postie knocked, but that's probably TMI)

message 867: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Haha! It's you avatar now! I, erm, heart it! ;)

message 868: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Yes, I wear my heart on my T-Shirt! lol

message 869: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments 'Cos it's not got big enough sleeves?

message 870: by Andy (new)

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments There's nothing like a bundle of dead trees to warm the cockles, and very nice it looks too. Is that a CreateSpace print or did you use a non Zon company to produce it (if you don't mind me asking)?

Nice to see Tom Holt and Scott Westerfield are such close friends on your bookshelf. I never imagined they'd get along, tbh.

message 871: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Haha! lol for reading my bookshelf. They had to be separated from Michael Grant and Hugh Howie (who are cowering behind my head). Next to the Oxford English Grammar is my infamous copy of Forensics for Dummies!

message 872: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments One last scene to write in Blenheim, and then we decamp (literally) for pastures new. And a whole new mode of transport to get there!

Looks like Dee is the new Hannah!

message 873: by Kath (last edited Sep 27, 2013 02:04AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I mentioned this on the Morning thread but our lovely author here sent me this yesterday http://www.goodreads.com/photo/group/...

Thanks Tim - I'm thrilled to bits with the whole package! X

(You'll never make a profit if you don't make your fans buy them! )

message 874: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Barrett | 1537 comments Aw that's brill! I got one o' them arrow heads too!

:)

message 875: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Where did he fire yours? I'm typing this standing up! ;)

message 876: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I'm thinking of doing a little presentation card for them, and then if you buy the pb direct from me, you'll get a little goodie bag, and the option of having the book singed...

I've just done the artwork for a new bookmark in the current cover style, & discovered in the process that the printer has a twofer offer on, so if I do the second book's bookmark now, it'll be cheaper (I'll need to write the blurb...) They'll be on heavier stock card too compared with the current ones.

It's going to be hard to write a blurb for Hunted that isn't a spoiler for Wanted...

message 877: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments SIGNED!!!

Although if you want it singed, i'll nip out and buy some matches!

message 878: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Now that's a mess you trilogy writers have to get yourselves out of. It'll be hard to do a review that doesn't spoil too.

message 879: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments This is a tentative teaser for the back of the bookmark (the front will be a full colour cover). I don't think it gives too much away. Tell me what you think...

For seventeen year old Flick Carter things have hit rock bottom.
If being forced out of her home in Faringdon again wasn’t
bad enough, her friends are being killed one by one. Flick
must up her game if she’s not to be the killer’s next victim.

I can up it by one more line, but that's all I've really got space for.

message 880: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I think that's great. Gripping. Intriguing.

message 881: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Works for me

message 882: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments We just need him to finish it, don't we Pat?

message 883: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Big push next week... :)

message 884: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Yay!

message 885: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Sold my first book in .ca overnight, and another in .com (yay!) Still my worst month ever, and still not a single UK sale since that 1*, but I do feel a little better about the month.

Back to the PBBoS now. Ho hum!

message 886: by Andy (new)

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments September wasn't great for me either, so I'll drown my sorrows with you if that's okay. I've only ever sold one book on .ca and that was refunded almost immediately afterwards. I did rack up a sale in Germany and Brazil last week though, which makes me feel unjustifiably cosmopolitan.

PS. PBBoS?

Tim | 8539 comments Poo Brown Bar of Shame. What you see in KDP before you make a sale...

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments Tim wrote: "Poo Brown Bar of Shame. What you see in KDP before you make a sale..."

Ah! It could also be another name for the entire Toblerone Mrs E and I consumed last night (just £2 in Tescamoes for a 600g block). Don't tell Patti!

message 889: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Toblerone. Yuck.

message 890: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I used to love Toblerones when I was a kid. Not so much now - far too sweet for my taste.

Tim | 8539 comments In an *exclusive* offer, available only to humans and any blue furry creatures from Alpa Centauri who also have a Green Card, WANTED is available from NOW till SUNDAY 13/10/13 at the ridiculously low price of 99p! That's half the price of a coffee! Or a third the price of a pint!

Get it while you can!

Or, if you want it for free and you are a Prime member, you can borrow it from the Kindle Lending Library.  :D

Your blatant bias against us Epsilon Eridani types is rather disappointing.

Veronica Roth. That's all I'm saying.

Now BEHAVE!!!

Love,
Your author.

Tim | 8539 comments Looks like a trip to see Thor is on the cards tonight... :)

message 897: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Working title for book 3 (I've written it on the front of a notebook and everything, so it must be real!)...

Tested

It follows directly on from the end of book 2, so I can't really say too much about it without revealing spoilers. But the first words go onto paper on Friday. This is my project for NaNoWriMo, so hopefully I'll get a big chunk of it done by the end of November. Then it's on to editing for Hunted. :)

message 898: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Thor was okay. Bit bitty in places though. Chris Ecclestone was the baddy, bringing a touch of Yorkshire to the Dark Elves "Ey oop lads, charge, by eck..." Hemsworth major starred, and of course we get Hemswoth minor in a few weeks, in Catching Fire.

Hope they put Greenwich back together afterwards, I need to go there next week... (spot of naval research, you know!)
