Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Hi Alexandra. I still don't know when the book is going to be on Kindle but I think the cat is out of the bag so lets get promoting :

message 56: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I haven't got a book or an amazon link or a pretty picture so I'm not quite sure how missing out on it is a bad thing...

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments There's always affiliate links, Tim ;)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Tim A wrote: "I haven't got a book or an amazon link or a pretty picture so I'm not quite sure how missing out on it is a bad thing..."

That's okay Tim. It isn't compulsory :-)

Kath | 1233 comments i havent either tim, nor do i want my social network links on there and so i did think of running away from it altogether but i rethought and slung a very short "blurb" together and submitted it anyway! after all, even if my poems are pants, i am still quite proud of my meagre offerings !

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments They are far from 'pants', Kath!

Jeeezzzzz

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments The contributions by non authors are very much appreciated. I wouldn't want to lose sight of the fact this group is here for and because of book lovers.

message 62: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments aw thanks Patti :) you just made my day!
now i know how authors feel when they get good reviews!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm sure you'll be getting loads of compliments once the book has been published Kath.

I'm pleased you're sharing your talent!

Simon, your's was okay. ;)

message 64: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments i wouldnt necessarily call it talent patti - i was thinking more along the lines of the semi-coherent ramblings of a mad woman!! ;)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ummm no.

Those would be what my posts are...

message 66: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments lol... i think there's quite a few that would also claim that attribution...

ooo she looks interesting!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Marc wrote: "worked for Anna Kavan... #justsayin"

What did you used to do for her?

;)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I, too, am grateful for the non-authors on here. However, can they stop winning the Writing Contests coz it makes us "real" authors look bad...

*grin*

message 71: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Tim, just put your bio in then. We love to know who our mystery men and women are!

Kath, you think your blurb is short - have you seen mine. It's almost eligible for a 6 word story!

very succinct !

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Any reviews yet? :)

Also, who among the contributing authors are the best sellers - I'm thinking of mentioning a few names (maybe 3?) that would have the most pull for readers.

message 76: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Well so far only Darren and I have seen it in its entirety. There were still 3 stories to come when I sent it to Patti. I could review it but then 'She would say that, wouldn't she?' would be the outcry. I could write a review later today and then give you some soundbites? Then when I really post the review they'll be there and it'll be true. Creative, not fibbing!

message 77: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Sent the info, Simon. Sorry for the delay! Life's been getting in the way a tad. :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments If you do, be very careful of spoilers, Ignite.

I do wonder who our best sellers in the group are...

I recall a 100 000 download party for Rosen. I think. Was it 100 000? Included all her books and free downloads, of course.

message 79: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Oh they would just be general adulation and stuff!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh I can do general adulation, too.

Specific adulation makes me get all sweaty though.

message 81: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Lightweight! ;)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments We could ask all authors to use the new Author Rank tool for Kindle Books in their Author Central page ;)

OK, so Rosen is one I can mention - who else?

message 83: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Okay, sended.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Darren Humphries MUST be up in some chart or other.

Is there a talking bollacks category?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Or daft wazzocking?

chart, or court?

I could certainly believe he was up in some court or other (Old Bailey on charges of putting offensive - in several senses of the word - tall spiky buildings in the middle of Oxford for example...) ;)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You mean there aren't tall spiky buildings in the middle of Oxford???

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments At the bottom of the thread it says "you are following this discussion"

But, y'know, sometimes I ain't following it at all...

message 92: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments i would be careful if you are using the rankings cos they are ONLY based on .COM figures and not .CO.UK

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Doesn't everyone sell more in the US? It's always been that way for me on all my books...

message 94: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments Depends on the month, one month UK is better then.com, but of course .com is a way bigger marketplace.
