Finding Pride
Megan Kimble was traveling a long way to find the next chapter in her life, one that would not include her brother, Matt. Losing him now was tragic, even more so since she had finally freed herself from the abuse and shame of a bad marriage. She had spent years hiding things from her brother, so he would not know about her horrible life. Keeping secret her world of bruises, cuts, and broken bones, much like the one she now sported with a large white cast.

Dealing with her loss was hard, but now she is thinking of taking over Matt’s new business venture. This could be the fresh start she needed, a new town, a new place to forget the pain, and maybe she would learn to trust again.

Todd Jordan was a successful businessman, who had once lost it all, and now he’d just lost his best friend and business partner. But, then she came into town broken and scared. For the first time in a long time he was looking forward to his future. Breaking down Megan’s barriers would take patience and strength, and he would need that strength to keep what he loves safe.

Nyla Naseer (nylanaseer) Hi, I'm a British author and my first contemporary fiction book is available FREE on Smashwords right now! I would really love some reviews.

The book is a contemporary fiction work about two young economic migrants (one from Latvia and the other from Ireland) who fall in love and engineer a fight scam in London.

I was inspired to write about the harsh realities of life for young people moving around to find work. With this backdrop 'outsider' characters provide the scope to explore the inner battle of needing stability and wanting adventure and excitement.

Feel free to pass on. If you do download/read I'd really appreciate a review, especially to Amazon.

Alesha Escobar | 8 comments The first book of my Gray Tower Trilogy is currently free for download.
----------------------

Book Description:

Wizard Vs. Nazi Warlock Vampires.

It's a very different World War II.

The Nazis have unleashed occult forces throughout Europe and the Allies are forced to recruit and employ wizards to counter their attacks. Among them is the battle weary spy, Isabella George, a Gray Tower dropout trained in Alchemy. Longing for retirement and a life of peace, she accepts one final job-extract a deadly warlock from Nazi occupied France and prevent him from unleashing an alchemical weapon that will devour the continent.

But France is crawling with the Cruenti, vampiric warlocks who feed off other wizards. When things don't go according to plan, one Cruenti sets his deadly eyes on her.

Betrayal is everywhere. Even some of her closest allies cannot be fully trusted. Worse still, she finds, she can't even trust herself. She becomes a woman torn between her charismatic spy lover who offers her what she desires most, and one of her closest confidants, whose soft seductive eyes hold deadly secrets about her past, and the Gray Tower itself.

Plans within plans. Plots versus counter plots. Heists gone wrong, sword-wielding Catholic priests, and the greatest manipulation of history that has ever been seen, is just a taste of what Isabella George is in for, in her final mission.

Ryan Bracha (ryanbracha) | 19 comments Hi all, my book Tomorrow's Chip Paper is currently free for kindle worldwide..

Will Thunder, one half of television's highest paid comedy duo Thunder &
Lightning, is being held hostage in his own home by a masked woman with evidence that Thunder is a paedophile, rapist and murderer. She's streaming his torture live to the world and giving the public the chance to decide his fate, and they love it. Crowds are gathering outside and if she doesn't kill him, they will.

Every channel has its own angle on the story, and they're not holding back.
But who is she? Is she working alone? How is it that she has all of the evidence of Will Thunder's depravity? And how the hell has he been getting away with it for so long? All very valid questions, but they need answering quickly because today's news is very much Tomorrow's Chip Paper.

Faces old and new explode onto the page in the second novel by Ryan Bracha, author of the best selling Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Killed Yet

Please feel free to download and give me as honest a review as you see fit :)

Vasant Davé (vasant_dave) | 13 comments Historical Novel. Mesopotamia. Indus Valley. Adventure. Thriller. Love

Hi friends,

My historical novel Trade winds to Meluhha involves adventure, strife and love in young Babylonian Samasin's life in which swift events chase him to a strange land 3,000 Km. across the sea, throwing up questions like

- Why was a native of Meluhha murdered in Mesopotamia?
- Why was a powerful Babylonian afraid of an orphan on the run?
- Why did a beautiful damsel eagerly await a coded message from an old man?
- Why did a comely hairdresser want to kill a gentleman who would never hurt a fly?
- Why did a wealthy merchant embark upon a long sea voyage after a stranger called on him?
- Why did an indignant woman seek pardon for an unscrupulous man who had exploited her?

For details, please visit my book-page here: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... . Should the plot interest you, please drop me a line on twtmeluhha at gmail dot com . I would be delighted to send you my novel in epub/pdf/rtf/pdb/mobi/lrf/html/Javascript format for your honest review. Thank you for your precious time :)

Christine Mcintyre (ChristineMcIntyre) | 16 comments Jah Na Sleep by Christine Mcintyre

I will happily send you a copy of my debut novel in exchange for a review!

Jah na Sleep is a multi-dimensional odyssey which takes Tashi, a young artist shattered by the untimely death of her lover, from the city of Montreal to the jungles of Costa Rica, and then deeper still into the wild interior of her own heart. As her search for meaning unfolds, Tashi encounters her soulmate whose presence in her life increasingly brings into sharp relief the shadows and light within her psyche/soul. The pas de deux that ensues serves to draw her nearer and nearer to the core of her own Being.

Using poetic prose, imagery, introspection, letters and dreams to examine the tension that exists between the ego personality and the soul self, this poignant exploration of the heart leads the reader on a healing pilgrimage to the door of the authentic self, and is ultimately a celebration of the transforming qualities of love.

Best-selling author Jeff Brown, master soul explorer and author of Soulshaping, writes of this exquisitely passionate novel: "Since I began to write, I seldom ever read. But I couldn’t stop reading this book. Christine’s writing is crisp and engaging, but it’s more than that. When I read her, I feel like I am in the hands of a commanding inner traveler – one who has ridden the wave of despair over all too rocky seas, and arrived, intact and beautifully clarified, at her very own door."

Jah na Sleep is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and Abe Books in both paperback edition and digital format, as well as at the book’s website. http://www.jahnasleep.com

Please contact me at mccmcintyre@gmail.com if your interest has been captured!

Matt Denham | 1 comments Hey Guys,

This book offers a lot of value. It's predominately a short (30page) personal development book on achieving your goals called 'How To Be A Life Coach - Big Change In 15' that takes you through the practical process off setting goals and taking action.

I'm a new author who is really trying to give maximum value! it is very hard to critic your own book and friends and family start off a review biased, as hard as they try not too, so it would be a real privilege to have a few of you guys read it, and give your honest opinions so I can revisit it, make it work! and give even more value in a rewrite!

E-mail me at matt@matthewdenham.co.uk if you would be interested and I will happily send you over a copy for free :)

Thanks in advance!!

Jonathan Bivens (JonathanNathanielBivens) Hello everybody,

I'm a children and teen author who has just published my first middle grade book Wreckless Wishes. Here is a litte about it.

What is your wish? These are the words Tabitha heard the day she went from being an ordinary everyday girl to being a little black Tabby cat. It might sound laughable to most, but I can assure you to her it isn't. After innocently making a wish Tabitha is turned into a cat. She tries to tell her mother but can anyone really understand what a cat is meowing about? Feeling hopeless and alone she finds a fourteen year old boy in her backyard having trouble tying his shoes. She comes to find out that the boy is Shadow, her mischievous black cat that has been turned into a teenage boy because of her reckless wish. He claims they somehow switched places. He then tells her there is still hope for them both to turn back to normal. They just have to follow a crow down a well and into another realm full of Knights and Dragons, Wizards and Goblins, and one very unlucky Werewolf.

Wreckless Wishes by Jonathan Nathaniel Bivens
I'd be willing to give a free e-book copy via smashwords coupon for an honest review of it. I'd also be willing to do a book/review swap.

Just send me a message by a goodreads message.

Ryan Bracha (ryanbracha) | 19 comments Hi all,

my bestselling novel Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Killed Yet is free for 3 days from today on Kindle.

"Not your typical thriller by any stretch of the imagination" - Keith Nixon, author of 'The Fix'

What do you get if you cross a French sex addict hitman, a self righteous left wing blogger with a spam problem, a racist bar room regular and his penchant for porn, an American gangster with a lot of reflecting to do, a small time journalist who dreams of the big time, a weak-willed loner with a Victorian lion hunter alter-ego, a flamboyant PR guru and his devilish plans, a very recently unemployed call centre drone, an old man with a hell of a grudge, and A LOT, of dead bodies? You get this.

The naked corpse of a young man is discovered with his throat sliced open on a cool autumn morning in a park in Sheffield, northern England. By an elderly dog-walker, as usual. He is the first of a rapidly increasing number of seemingly random killings in the city, all in that same way. This leads to a frenzy of media and public speculation, where everybody is a suspect, and everybody has an opinion. Daisy is pointing the finger at the media, rookie journalist David is dreaming of future awards for his coverage of the whole thing, and Terry blames the Asians.

What's actually happening is a far more sinister affair which threatens to spiral out of control. Across the city Tom, call centre outlaw, cast out for his lack of respect for faceless voices, is drinking and snorting himself into a collision course with some very very bad people indeed, how it will end, well that depends on how much of an outlaw Tom's prepared to be.

Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Killed Yet is a funny, satirical, sexy, and very violent tale of poverty, addiction, the fickle finger of fame, love and questionable mental health.

Next time you'll maybe want to look that gift horse in the mouth.

"In your face and uncompromising..."

"A brilliant debut..."

"This is powerful writing..."

"If you like Brookmyre at his most violent you will love this..."

"Make sure you have some spare time as you won't be able to put it down..."

"Funny, brutal with twists and turns a plenty..."

"I will definitely read more by this author..."

"A must read. Bracha produces a riveting story with earthy believable characters..."

"Enough little twists and turns to make the plot original, and hold your interest..."

"This is a gory mixture of humour, comic book violence and acute observation. I don't think I can compare it to anything else and I mean that as a compliment..."

"I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very dark and intentionally disturbing..."

"The use of gratuitous swearing actually offended my eyes..."

Briana Lawrence | 3 comments Treat Me Kindly by Briana Lawrence

Hi everyone! I've recently published my first book. "Treat Me Kindly" is a supernatural murder mystery that takes place in current times. Mild mannered Matthew Sharpton is having the worst existence possible. He lives in his parents' basement after his fiancee upgraded to a better man. To make his father happy, he goes to a charity auction hosted by the company the old man works for. While there, he ends up bidding on a beautiful bird and taking it home. It's here that he discovers that this isn't an ordinary bird. The bird has the ability to turn just as human as Matthew -- minus the thinning hair. The woman is more than happy to belong to Matthew as long as he does one simple thing. "Treat Me Kindly."

Meanwhile, Alex Sampson is a detective assigned to a case where Frank Marko, an ex-rockstar, has been found dead in his home. The only evidence is a small butterfly that was found by the body. The strange thing about the butterfly is that it's an extinct species. After some investigating, Alex discovers that the butterfly came from a charity auction that promises "rare" and "exotic" animals unlike any other. Those words ring true as more people in the city are killed in bizarre ways, the only evidence being some sort of remnant from an animal.

I would love to have more reviews for my book. If anyone is interested, I can offer a free eBook copy of the book. Please send me an email at brichibi@yahoo.com

Thank you for your time, and take care!

Now available, 10 copies, FREE READ 4 REVIEW:

THE KEY CLASS ~ The Keys To Job Search Success

epub, mobi, or pdf

Obtaining the key to success in any area of life...

...depends on social ETIQUETTE skills.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, or where you want to go, if you don’t have the proper social etiquette the doors to success will not easily open for you. Our society is based on social interactions, from obtaining our first job to landing large promotions, starting our own business, traveling in foreign countries, enrolling in universities, or speaking about causes and experiences closest to us.

Social etiquette is at the heart of success.

Social etiquette is a universal language that knows no boundaries.

˃˃˃ Those who master social etiquette feel comfortable, confident, and able to communicate effectively in any social situation.

THE KEY CLASS is your go-to-guide for mastering social and business etiquette. Taught by world-renowned special event producer John Daly, The Key Class presents a rare and unique program custom tailored to fit the needs of any organization, school, corporation, or individual. Although the keys to social and business etiquette are universal, there is no one-size-fits-all route to achieving personal success.

The Key Class works with you to meet your own individual goals.

˃˃˃ Through Partners in Education, The Key Class is currently being taught in the majority of high schools in the Santa Barbara, California School System.

Whether you are an educator seeking a valuable social skills resource for your students, a professional student needing that extra edge in job searching, a foreigner who needs to know American etiquette, a returning veteran, or a director of a non-profit or corporation looking for ways to increase employee value within your organization, The Key Class has the unique trajectory to help you reach those goals.

˃˃˃ WHAT DO I GET FROM THE KEY CLASS?

The purpose of The Key Class is to teach the tools of successful social and business skills for anyone, especially youth, who wants to succeed in life. In both personal and professional situations, every society has traditions in place that determine the way people are judged by the people they meet. Understanding these guidelines in society can make or break a person in social and business circles.

The Key Class teaches students how to get along with others, behave properly and treat others respectfully in the workplace or in social situations.

Along with being informative, The Key Class is user-friendly and fun! The use of high-energy interactive teaching methods increases student participation and enhances the learning environment. A series of four classes provides lecture, interactivity and role-playing to give students the knowledge to enter worlds that might not otherwise be achievable without it.

The course covers a variety of techniques, including:

communications technology modifications, involving cell phones, email and social media
handling applications;
research;
securing appointments;
phone etiquette;
proper introductions;
positive body language;
conversing;
following up after an interview;
creating an effective resume;
what to wear and what etiquette to use for interviews that take place over a meal;
financial literacy.

Participants will leave with a complete understanding of the necessary skills to succeed in both their work and life environments and the tools for a successful job search and/or college entrance.

Daffyd thought that he had it all, fame and fortune, good looks, and the life he had always dreamed of. Now, at thirty the only thing remaining is the money. He has lost his family, his health, his good looks and his faith in God. Living as a recluse in the Mountains of Montana he has given up on life.
Samantha is thirty-five and recently widowed. Spending the last fifteen years in a marriage of convenience, to a man almost twenty years her senior, she now doesn’t even know who she is. It seems that her life had been on auto pilot, and though she dreams of another life, she can’t seem to find the way. Samantha has two things that keep her going, her daughter and her faith.
Savage Love is a story of love, hope and new beginnings. When two lives come together, seemingly by chance, both are transformed.

Unplanned Love
Through the marriage of Seanna’s mother and Bryce’s uncle, the two college kids have become as close as any brother and sister. Both raised as only children, they finally have the siblings they have always longed for. But, sometimes love can bloom in the most unexpected places.
Unplanned Love continues the story of the characters from Savage Love. This story of love and family reminds us of the importance of unconditional love and acceptance.

Beauty’s Curse
Beauty’s Curse is an adult fantasy/fairytale that spans centuries of bondage, shown through the intertwined lives of four people. Esmeralda, Victor, Nicholas and Adelaide are living under a curse, some of their own making, some by the cruelty of others, and a curse once cast cannot be broken. For years they have toiled under their prospective curses, each in their own way, trying to live with the burdens and troubles. Then along comes Hope, who proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is better judged by what in the heart of a person. True love can break the chains that bind.

Hello everyone,

I am new to the group and have only just visited this discussion thread.

I would like to thank Vincent for his clear, sensible and relevant rules. I have always maintained that for most of us, unless your an expert reviewing a technical book, reading is primarily a subjective experience. Consequently we should expect reviews to reflect this. Also, and one thing I try to apply myself and hope others will, is that a review, to be of any value to the author as well as a potential reader, should be 'honest'. As an author I am not afraid of negative comments because these provide an opportunity for me to learn and to hopefully improve: we tend to be very close to our own work and need the objective views of others.

So far, although I am in the process of writing more as time permits, I have only published my autobiography 'What a Life An Autobiography'. I would appreciate some reviews so if you are interested please let me know. I will require an e-mail address and to know which version you would like .mobi, .pdf or .html.

Regards,

Tanya Robinson

Kevin Brennan (kevinbrennan) Hi all!

I'm seeking reviews for my very short collection of flash fiction, Our Children Are Not Our Children (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EDWEHW8).

It's about 5000 words, and the five little stories all deal with parents from hell.

I'll provide a Smashwords coupon for free download if you'd like to do a review for, preferably, Goodreads and Amazon.

Thanks in advance!
