R.A. White (rawhite) | 361 comments I may be just one more chick looking for reviews, but it can't hurt to try, can it?
I will be happy to send a copy in exchange for honest reviews. The genre is epic fantasy/coming of age, and here is the blurb:
Kergulen
A girl with the eyes of a witch escapes her abusive master, but instead of a happy ending she finds Kergulen, a land where the monsters are only slightly more terrifying than the people. As she struggles to stay alive in this new country, Rima must master the capacity for inner freedom and true friendship if she hopes to create a life worth living.
Rima is not a typical heroine; her misadventures involve universal issues such as racism and self-doubt, but also include the occasional monster or dragon. The entire Kergulenite forest works together to keep Kergulen’s secrets safe from Rima and the rest of the world.
Will uncovering Kergulen’s mysteries give Rima the freedom she dreams of, or will she be condemned because she knows too much?
For info, check it out on amazon.

Return to the film with mayhem, mirth, and magic missiles—or at least, crumpled newspaper missiles. Torn Teepeeshield, the Hot Prince of the Dwarves, puts aside his developing stardom in dwarf cabaret to quest to the Lame Old Mountain and destroy the dragon Erpolushun, or in the common tongue, Smog. It's up to Bumble Baglunch to save the day with his knowledge of pop culture. Together with Bobbin, Noggin, Rover, Clover, Sloppy, Ploppy, Frappe, Hottie, Spottie, Quaff, Sloth, and Ezekiel the dwarves, they journey across Renfair Earth to revive their franchise. Destiny may be a word writers use to pave over plotholes, but Bumble is determined to triumph nonetheless and play as good a game of goblin golf as his ancestors. http://www.vefrankel.com for more info. Here's more details on the book:
Author: P.J. Morse

Genre: Comic Mystery
Link to Book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A...
Vulgarity Level: PG-13. A few curse words, some drinking and toking, brief violence, but nothing graphic.
Synopsis: A musician’s gotta eat, which is why rock guitarist Clancy Parker takes on side gigs as a private eye. When she gets a new case involving a stolen necklace, Clancy's thrilled at the prospect of easy money.

The job turns out to be anything but. Soon enough, Clancy must dodge threats from disgruntled secretaries, unhinged society matrons and rampaging ice cream trucks. The only person who can provide answers about the necklace is her client’s sexy psychiatrist, but Clancy’s budding crush on him only leads to more trouble.

Eventually, Clancy must rely on all of her contacts— her stoner bandmates, her Socialist landlord, and her yoga-loving, flask-toting mother—to stop the thief from turning into a killer.

Kristin (kitresa) | 9 comments Unquenched
Anyone interested in reviewing a Kindle romance/romance suspense book?

As a prisoner of her own experience, a young woman finds no other way to free herself of obsessive thoughts between two men except by telling her story.

“A passion has erupted inside of me leaving me no choice but to share my story of dreams, emotions and experiences. By sharing it, I hope to set myself free.”

Unquenched is about a tormented triangle filled with love and deception. It is about passions and dreams and discovering unquenched thirsts that lie deep within us. It is about the need to satiate our lust for life and not settling for anything less. It is about the thrill of adventure and taking risks to understand the complexity of simply feeling alive. This story is expressed through an unexpected romantic interlude that takes place in Indonesia and finds its way to New York

If anyone is interested in reviewing the Kindle Edition, I can gift it to your email address. Or you can download it for free on March 30! www.amazon.com/dp/B009MP84RUJorie Dakelle

John Hancock (johngregoryhancock) | 135 comments I realize when I posted previously, I gave people very little to go on besides "here's my book", so I deleted that post and am replacing it with this one.

A Plague of Dreams (Dreamwood Tales #1) by John Gregory Hancock

------
It’s a collection of ten stories, of varying lengths, genres and styles. They vary from fantasy, to science fiction, to crime thriller, to paranormal adventure. And of course humor. You’ll find things like…
- A dragon with an identity crisis
- An accountant that runs into a three-headed dog, (or maybe the dog runs into him)
- A refugee spaceship that might not be enough to save mankind
- A lottery winner that finds his life turning into a nightmare when he finds a hidden room
- A TV psychic that is drawn against his will into demonic evil
Five of the stories have my illustrations. So that’s added value right there!

My inspiration comes from several sources.
“Cerberus” and “Pepe” springs irreverently from my own twisted humor.
Also, I dream. I dream a lot. In color, and in complete story plots. I was surprised to learn most people don’t. My dreams are my escape, even the scary ones.
Three of the stories in this collection borrow directly from my dreams:
-The funeral scene in “The Veil” is a complete dream fragment, and the feeling of betrayal that arises is the same intensity I felt when I woke up from it, sweating.
-The image of holding my hand against a spaceship viewport while watching the debris of a destroyed planet drift by was the dreamt source for “Amber”.
-Discovering a secret hidden room in my newly purchased home became the seed for “Panic Tower”.
My second inspiration comes from being an occasional insomniac. In order to relax myself enough to sleep, I would spin stories in my mind, puzzle out plots, and visualize the scenes until the sandman took me.

You can read the first story, Cerberus, for free, here:

http://dreamwoodtales.wordpress.com/f...

I would be thrilled to send a free electronic copy to anyone wanting to review it.

thanks for your consideration (and sorry for being too brief previously!)

John

Nikki Barrett (trulynikkiness) | 10 comments Hello, everyone!

I like this group. Pretty neat :)

I have two books out and would love reviews on either one of them, but especially for my latest contemporary, Baby Stetson.

In small Texas towns, strangers come and go...

Left in a Stetson hat, on the steps of the local bed and breakfast, Avery Callimer came into the world on a wing and a prayer. Raised by loving adoptive parents, she's never lacked for love...only the knowledge of her past.

By day she works the Inn, but by night...Avery comes alive as lead singer in a band. Life was good...stable, until new guests blew into town.

Some strangers come with secrets and lies

Lucas Bennett is one such stranger. Drifting from one mess to another has left him jaded. Doesn't matter the dramas are never his doing. Giving it one last shot to make a fresh start lands him Harmony's Echo, Texas and smack dab in front of the tantalizing Avery.

Despite his best efforts to ignore the burn Avery's ignited within, he's intent to keep his distance. Secrets have followed him. Secrets he doesn't want Avery to know.

Each time they're near the other things heat up like a brushfire on a dry Texas prairie.

But maybe, after the dust settles and the smoke clears, love can bloom with a fresh start.

I have ebook copies available, and I'm working on getting the print done. I just got the proof copy this week, so it'll be a couple of weeks.

if interested, my email is nikkilynnbarrett@yahoo.com. Just put Baby Stetson review in the subject line or something like that. it's about 100k words, and it's contemporary suspense.

:)

Sean | 8 comments Hi, everyone,

I'm having a free promo for my kindle novel 'Beer Goggles' on Saturday and Sunday this week and would appreciate some reviews. Even if you can't get to it anytime soon, download it and then read it at your leisure.

If you like comedy novels, or books with witty banter then this is for you.
It is especially suited to those who like 'The Simpsons', early Woody Allen, 'Carry On...' films, 'Red Dwarf', Jonathan Creek and 'Men Behaving Badly'.

How would I describe it? Think of a Jonathan Creek mystery, but instead of the calculating magicican, it is investigated by the blokes from 'Men Behaving Badly' - while drunk.

The reviews I've already received(including one from here on Goodreads) say it is 'laugh out loud funny', but make your own mind up.

Spencer Perry lost everything the day her boyfriend died. Even when he came back as a ghost, she was never able to return to her old self. Determined to find a way to bring both of them back--him from the dead and her from her depression--Spencer hops a ride with a Reaper across the river to the Underworld where she meets the god of the dead. Hadrian isn't what she expected Hades to be like, but when he agrees to a deal that can get her Micah back, she puts all caution aside and accepts. Too bad she didn't realize that she'd also just accepted a lot more than one gorgeous yet frustrating god. Bad things are happening all around her, and now she not only has to worry about keeping Micah's ghost status a secret from their friends, but also figure out who's behind all of the accidents. All signs point towards Hadrian, but something about that just doesn't feel right to her. Something that she hopes has nothing to do with her growing attraction towards him.

Shewanda Pugh | 13 comments Hi All,
Looking for reviews for my women's fiction/romance series Crimson Footprints. The blurbs and contact info can be found below.

Also, I'm willing to exchange honest reviews with an author that writes dystopian fiction (you're half way to 5 stars if it has a romantic/YA element).
Anyhoo, here's my info:

Crimson Footprints
When an insecure woman begins a cloak-and-dagger love affair with a Japanese American man, she is intent on keeping her bigoted family in the dark albeit with devastating consequences. On the night of her brother's murder, Deena Hammond stumbles upon Takumi Tanaka, lost and on the wrong end of a .32. After rescuing him from the certain fate driving through the hood in a Porsche will bring, a sweet kind of friendship begins. A balm for her grief. Maybe, Deena likes to think, it happened the day her white mother killed her black father. Or maybe, it was always a part of them, like DNA gone bad. Whatever the case, Deena knows that her family would never approve, hell, never acknowledge her fast-growing love for Takumi. And had he never made love to her that way, in that unraveling, soul-searching sort of way, she could've done the same. But loves a devil that way. So, their game begins. One where they hide what they are from everyone. Anyone. And Tak understands this for now. After all, Deena's career hinges on the favor of her mentor and boss, his hard-ass of a father. And the Hammond family is already stretched thin with grief. Yet, each step Deena takes toward family and career brings her closer to an acceptance shes never had. And away from him.

Crimson Footprints II: New Beginnings
An eleven-year-old boy hitchhikes 1500 miles from Bismarck to Miami; a prostitute yearns for escape from a prison of her own making, and the horrible secrets of a long-ago murder are unraveled in the shadows of one woman's dreams. Lizzie Hammond is an ill-fated whore that believes in little, save her own ultimate demise. Kenji Tanaka is a pseudo-architect, content to hide in the shadows of his family's overwhelming success. Neither can stand the other. But the appearance of a boy only rumored to be true helps them discover that two unlikely halves can fit together as the perfect whole. For Lizzie Hammond and Kenji Tanaka, redemption is found in the most unlikely of places: each other, even as the world around them disintegrates.
