What did you think of Hounded? I love Atticus (and Oberon), but I've heard some people hate the whole talking dog gimmick and couldn't finish the book. Just curious!

It sounds great - definitely on my to read list.

Well, I'm sure even the Faerie King enjoys a good plate a bacon from time to time. But I shudder to think what he might do to the poodles.

Bacon lattes! And I remember something about strumpet rhyming with pump it and the Black Eyed Peas should "kick it old school with the Bard".

2. An Urban Fantasy Title with a single character on the cover:
3. Any Fantasy OR Paranormal Romance Title (not strictly UF) :
4. Any book that was released in 2012.
Cover Hunt: Using October’s, November’s, and December’s birthstones as a guide (opal or pink tourmaline, topaz, and tanzanite or turquoise) , read a book with a predominately white, pink, yellow, or blue cover, or any combination of the four colors.
October 24 is United Nations Day: Read a book set in a country other than the one in which you live (fictional worlds count, too!)
Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less by Jeffrey Archer 10/11
November 21 is World Hello Day: Say hello to a new author or a new series
Final Seconds by John Lutz 10/11
December 21 is the Solstice: Depending on your hemisphere this is either the shortest or longest day of the year. So for this one, you get to read two books:
a. Read a book with 200 or fewer pages
b. Read a book with 400 or more pages
Out With the Old: Read that book you’ve been putting off all year –OR- the book that will finally make you current in a favorite series (in other words: the most recent release in an ongoing series, or the final book in a series that has ended)

I know, right?!?! A good friend of mine told me he hated him and I was just shocked! It made me reevaluate my relationships :X
I actually listened to the entire series in their audiobook format, and I think Oberon is even better that way. Luke Daniels does a phenomenal job with the different voices.

Wow! Congratulations, Darcy! Any stand out great reads in the bunch?

I read the print books last year when they first came out and then listened to the audio versions earlier this year. I agree that Luke Daniels is a great narrator for this series. The only problem with the audio is walking around laughing out loud and no one around you knows why.

@ Christine - My favorites of the bunch would be Death's Rival and Ashes of Honor.
I also lucked out this time with no duds, something that hasn't happened for a long time.

Those are both series I've been meaning to read for ages. I picked them up when the first books came out, but wanted to wait to read them until there were at least two or three books out in each series. Hmmm....I think it's safe to start them now.
It's nice when you have a run of good books. I hope it continues.

I would definitely recommend both series. The October Daye series is a little slower though.

An ugly sweater book? Too funny!"
It was rather amusing. Made me wish I hadn't gotten rid of my Xmas sweaters years ago...they were so hideous that they could have been featured in this book.

My progress so far:
1. Any UF title: Crave by J.R. Ward
2. UF title with single character on cover:

3. Fantasy/PNR title:
4. 2012 release: God Save the Queen by Kate Locke
5. Cover hunt Wife 22 by Melanie Gideon

6. Set in country besides U.S. -
7. New author/series:
8. Solstice
A. 200 or fewer pages
B. 400 or more pages
9. Out with the old Cold Days by Jim Butcher
Cannot wait for Cold Days to come out!

I just finished Nocturnal, and it was ok. There were parts that I really liked and parts that were just so bizarre and weird that I couldn't get into them. I'd probably have liked this a lot better if it were shorter - it was a cool concept, but the writing got a little messy.

DONE 2. An Urban Fantasy Title with a single character on the cover: Warrior: The Blades of the Rose #1 ★★★
Went out of my norm with "Warrior" and though it had its faults, I enjoyed my time amongst the pages.

I'm not entirely sure what happened in Guilty Pleasures, but I know I didn't like it.

I'm not entirely sure what happened in Guilty Pleasures, but I know I didn't like it."
Well, if you didn't like that one, for sure don't continue. For me the series was only really good for the first 8 books, then downhill from there. I don't know why I keep reading, but I do.

I was considering giving the second book a chance because I'd heard so many good things about the series, but the writing/plot was just such a mess in the first one that I was hesitant. Knowing that they only go downhill seals the deal for me - I think Anita and I are broken up for good!

What did you think of The Night Circus, Davina? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. It's been on my TBR for a while, but I haven't been in the mood to tackle it.

Finished "Unveiled" by Courtney Milan, which I didn't care for. Though I am going to read the rest of the series. She's a really good writer, but this one was a dude.
Also got "Curio: Reversal" today and devoured it. Oh! It was sooooo good!
