Eight down, two to go! Mark of the Witch started of with a bang and then fizzled. Oh well! I'm going to take a short break and read the 4th Curio book which comes out tomorrow morning (11/21) and then come back to my 9th book "The Ring of Five Dragons" after the turkey day.

9. Solstice > 400: The Rook

Just finished up my challenge with The Lies of Locke Lamora, and it was a really fun read! I actually had very few duds this challenge, and would recommend several of the books to others. Especially these: Shadow and Bone, The Lies of Locke Lamora, Legion, The Rook, and UnWholly.

I really liked that one too!

10/10 Finished"
Great job, Carrie!

congratulations! And thanks for letting us know which books you'd recommend. I've had a few of those on my list for a while, so it helps to hear from someone who has read them.

What did you think of Daughter of Smoke & Bone?"
I liked it a lot, but I didn't love it the way so many seem to. I think the first half was just a tad slow for me. The library just sent me notice that a copy of Days of Blood & Starlight is finally available for me to pick up. I am looking forward to continuing the series.

I'm hoping so. The first book picked up near the end for me, like the author finally hit her stride, so I have high hopes for book 2.
