Regarding #570 - I don't think these editions should be deleted, only merged into the correct edition. I began the process but need a super's help to finish:

I separated out Dark Lover into its two Finnish editions http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... and need a super librarian to delete the "hardcover" edition which doesn't exist, then combine it back to http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42...

I did the same for http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/98... and need the hardcover edition deleted and then combine the remaining edition back to http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42...

and also for http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition... which needs to have the ISBN-less edition deleted then combined back to http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

and finally for http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition... which needs to have the ISBN-less edition deleted before combining back to http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

I have concerns...why was all the info stripped off the book? There is a person who has it marked as "to read." We should merge it, rather than stripping the info, and deleting it outright, if there's another edition...or was it a book that was never published?

The first one, Dark Lover, has no Finnish hardcover edition from Basam Books (based on original edition creation information).

Lover Awakened was never published in hardcover by Basam Books either.

The "other" edition of Lover Revealed, I can't find any evidence that it existed. Only one was published by Basam, the paperback with the ISBN, and it has 527 pages. The book with only 463 does not exist with Basam.

Lastly, Lover Unbound was only published once by Basam, in August, in paperback (the edition with the ISBN). The edition that claims to have been published in September doesn't exist.

*NOTE: Only the first two have hardcover editions on Goodreads. The last two don't even specify the format.

In addition, when requesting a book deleted please do not remove the data on the prior to the request.

I didn't delete it, and the changes have been reversed. GR does not delete books that have been published, whether or not they are no longer in publication. Deleting a valid book entry, or vandalizing it by stripping the info can result in revocation of librarian status.

GR is a book cataloging site and unless there are legal reasons (which GR Employees would deal with) then the wishes of the author / publisher are not relevant. THe site is for readers to shelve and review the books they have read, if we where to delete books because the author did not want it one the site, users would not have a complete catalog of their reading

There hasn't been an English version of this book as far as I could find. The title is just a (kind of bad) translation of the Greek title made by whoever added it. The image cover is also in Greek and the ISBN13 listed is the one on the Greek version.

This was addressed and answered in messages 596 and 597. We're a database, not a bookseller or advertiser. If you stop publishing a book, the copies already distributed do not self-destruct or burst into flames. People still own them, and want to shelve them. We do not remove books that have been published.
