Kaitlyn Alas, such a guy would only exist in the world of t.v.

literati | 17 comments Well as you can probably tell by my username I am a Rory/Jess fan all the way. I'm too lazy to type out my argument

That being said I was so glad when then ended the show with Rory single. I hate this stigma in Tv shows that everyone has to be paired off at the end. Gilmore Girls was a show about strong independent women. Rory wanted to be a foreign correspondent so just seemed right that she would go off and live all her adventures solo. She was only 22 at the end of the series which (imho) is young to settle down.
I like to think that Rory and Jess met up at Luke and Lorelai's wedding, stayed in regular contact and then maybe got back together 5 years down the line

Elizabeth (ezepeze11) | 72 comments DEAN DEAN DEAN. Such a hardcore Dean fan. Of course, like any sane person out there, as soon as he got married (ugh) I switched to a Jess fan. I don't mean my LOYALTIES changed, just that I preferred Jess to Logan. Because I hate Logan with every fiber of my being! Jess was never actually that horrible, it's just I was not very fond of him on account of him taking her away from Dean. So, I was TeamDean till he married, then I was TeamJess. Because he IS pretty cool guy and I LOVE that he reads, and he reads classics! So: TeamDean for the first four seasons, TeamJess for seasons five through seven.

Never Logan, sooooo glad she didn't get married to him.

true that!!!!!!!!!!!

message 355: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Alcorn (alyssajalcorn) | 1 comments Definitely team Jess. I think that they had the most chemistry together and I don't think that Rory ever really stopped loving him. I was upset at him for the way he handled school and even more so for how he would sometimes treat Rory but I think that was just him being young and troubled. Once he grew up and got his act together in Philadelphia I think he and Rory would have been great together.
I think that Dean was incredibly controlling and awful. I absolutely hated that Rory got back together with him after cheating with him.
Logan would probably go back to his old ways after they got married. Drinking, blowing off work, cheating on her. I think that Rory wanted to love him more than she actually did.

Tristan!!!

(Ermmm..Okaye.Sorry I just had to get it out. They never had a chance *tear*)

Oh Tristan! Yeah, they never did have a chance. It was such a shame because I love Chad Michael Murray...but Tristan was a jerk for the most part, though I liked him a lot better later on, right before he left.

message 358: by [deleted user] (new)

I have to say Logan. I really liked Jess also, but I guess he was a bit too dangerous for Rory (though he would be perfect for me, ha?). Dean was great for the younger Rory but he was kinda too smalltownboy for the older Rory, who wanted to travel and do big things. Logan was kind of exciting also but responsible in his own way.

message 359: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Tarah and Danielle, I think that in a way she eventually did get with Tristan in the form of Logan. Although I liked Tristan much more than I liked Logan.

That's true, they were very similar personality wise. And I agree, I liked Tristan better than Logan as well

message 361: by Kristen (new)

Kristen (keekscarlson) | 12 comments I always had a soft spot for Dean. I was not fond of the story line of him cheating but I thought they made the best couple.

Taryn (anotherdesperatehousewife) | 78 comments Alyssa wrote: "Definitely team Jess. I think that they had the most chemistry together and I don't think that Rory ever really stopped loving him. I was upset at him for the way he handled school and even more so..."

They definitely had chemistry but that chemistry wasn't there when they got together again in season 6 for the book launch. The timing was just always wrong - it was a bit like that for Lorelai as well. Nobody was ever the right guy, at the right time. The men the gilmore girls picked could never seem to be what they needed at the time (maybe with the exception of Dean who hung around faithfully at the start).

message 363: by Megan (new)

Megan (itsmegan) | 1 comments TEAM JESS. Dean became an asshole once he slept with Rory when he was married. And Logan got Rory into waaaay to much trouble.

message 364: by [deleted user] (new)

Definitely Jess. I found Dean really needy and annoying and I never watched anything about Logan so I don't know if I like him or not.

message 365: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (isabellankl) | 4 comments JESS!! Jess is exacly the guy i wanted rory to end with. The old and the new jess always took my breath away. I liked Dean, but he wasn't for rory, and i was so happy when he married Linsday. I hated Logan since ever, i think rory ever looking at him at first place was against all her morals. I was so proud of her when she refuse his propose, because the 7th season was a shame, wasn't it?

message 366: by amber (new)

amber (thelittlematchgirl) | 25 comments I know I'm one of a very few but I pick Dean. I actually liked Dean in season one -- the whole reading Anna K twice just because it's Rory's favorite book was really sweet-- while I hated both Jess and Logan from the start and never really changed my mind about either of them.

message 367: by A. (new)

A. (aaaa8) | 2 comments A mixture between Jess and Logan!

message 368: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (isabellankl) | 4 comments Team Jess all the way! Dean was a good first boyfriend and everything but, who didn't fall in love with Jess? I totally agree with Caryn, he was always Jess. I like to think she ended up with him.

message 369: by Candycane (new)

Candycane Claus (candycaneclaus) | 3 comments Jess for sure. But it's too bad we never got to see Dean again in later seasons. He could have changed just as much as Jess did. And ugh, I never liked Logan!

message 370: by Ruric (new)

Ruric | 3 comments Jess hands down. Sarcastic, smart, an introvert and an avid reader. I always thought Logan was too full of himself and Dean was very boy-next-doorish and didn´t seem to really get Rory´s love for books. Like on one episode she was buying books in a fair and he was sat on some stairs looking miserable. Jess would have been running around buying books too.

message 371: by [deleted user] (new)

Team Jess all the way for sure! He was just perfect for her!

message 372: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jordanreadsbooks) | 2 comments Of course it has to be Jess. In my opinion, Dean was so controlling and whiny, and toward the end he got to be annoying. Logan was ok at first, but then you find out he cheated on Rory which is a bad move. Plus, he was about money and you just couldn't trust him.
Jess, on the other hand, yes he did leave but it was for a good reason. I've always liked both of Jess' characters: the sarcastic yet well-read bad boy & the grown up who became a writer.
Out of all of Rory's relationships Jess was the one who was always there for love.

message 373: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I love how I've found so many people who are pro-Jess. Makes me feel less alone.

so did LUKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

message 377: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (ramblingbooks) | 57 comments I was Team Luke from the first episode! Even then you could see how they should be together. I didn't like Chris all too much, and never liked Jason. Max was my second favorite of her boyfriends. I would have be okay with her ending up with him if her and Luke didn't happen :)

message 378: by Cristina (new)

Cristina Rose i want to say Jess, because he was basically like her, except, an opposite? with that said, at the same time if i was rory i don't know if i would have stuck with jess because he was really reckless, and had his own demons and i remember he just left to calirfornia? BUT i really wish they would have had him come back, changed (well he did) but that they would have ended up together. i never liked logan and he was a reason i stopped watching the final seasons of gilmore girls so enthusiastically, because he wasnt likable? more like a recycled tristan or whatever.

I think they should have gotten together when they met up at his book reading and she was having issues with Logan. I kind of wonder if this is where it was supposed to go but they changed their minds at the last minute or something...

I liked Luke. But I think my favorite was Max. However, if she had married him, the show would have lost a lot.

Milo was probably committed to Heroes by then, so they just wanted to wrap up his character. Too bad Rory didn't dump Logan, though.

wait.....we are talking about a tv show!!?!??!?!

message 383: by Faye (new)

Faye Team Christopher here! I loved the dynamics in Presenting Lorelai Gilmore - Lorelai/Chris and Rory/Dean made such a cute family.

message 384: by Annika (new)

Annika logan!

the relationship with dean was cute but i didn't liked his behaviour and actions from season 4 onwards. jess is an interesting character and i liked him a lot, but the worlds rory and jess lived in were too different. logan is perfect. even though he was really spoilt and arrogant in the beginning, he changed while dating rory plus the chemistry was great.

message 385: by Gunnhildur (new)

Gunnhildur Definitely Jess! I liked him when he and Rory were together but the new and improved Jess that showed up in season 6 is who Rory ended up with in my mind and no one can convince me otherwise :)

message 388: by Meaghan-jayne (new)

Meaghan-jayne Wheeler | 1 comments Although I love Jess I'm 100% team Logan! He seemed completely perfect for Rory. He matched her intelligence, made her take risks and was charming and so attractive! They complimented each other perfectly. He went up against his family for her, he have up his womanising ways for her. Watching him leave for London actually made me cry! And watching her turn down his proposal was crushing! He finally made the big commitment and she shut him down. I was so disappointed with the ending.

message 389: by Smita (new)

Smita | 1 comments I would have liked her with Tristan.

message 390: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Fidis (stephaniekfidis) | 5 comments Um, Logan all the way. She made a horrible decision not to marry him! I am so mad! He was perfect! She changed the crazy, partying, rich boy into a human being! I envied her entire relationship with Logan. It was the perfect boyfriend girlfriend mixture. I would kill to have done day what she had what she could have had.

message 391: by amber (new)

amber (thelittlematchgirl) | 25 comments Smita wrote: "I would have liked her with Tristan."

Tristan was the only one of Rory's bad boys that I actually liked.

message 392: by Bridget (new)

Bridget I loved Rory's relationship with Jess, and I thought their whole story line was so romantic.

message 393: by Nao (last edited Feb 12, 2013 03:10PM) (new)

Nao نوال (biii) | 4 comments Jess all the way. I actually like to think that Rory and Jess meet again, when they're in their 30s. Rory who becomes a brilliant journalist and Jess a popular writer will fall in love again ...

message 394: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1 comments While early on Dean and Logan were pretty awesome, Jess remained awesome throughout. Dean started out awesome (like when he defends Rory at her School Dance against Tristan and building her a car) but once Jess came to Stars Hollow, he turned into a whiny, needy boyfriend and I was glad to see him go. While the beginning Logan was pretty awesome with the Life and Death Brigade and all the new and exciting things he brought to Rory's life, he turned into kind of a jerk after that and made Rory look stupid for staying with a jerk like that.
But there really is no competing with Jess. He maintained his complete awesomeness throughout his whole time on the show and even came back with more awesome when he pops back up later on. He was Rory's match in every way. He had the sweet side that Dean brought in and he had the ability to take Rory out of her comfort zone like Logan did all wrapped up into a nice, awesome package.

message 395: by Brynne (new)

Brynne Jess! There is no argument there. They were perfect for each other!!!

message 396: by Taryn (new)

Taryn (anotherdesperatehousewife) | 78 comments The thing with all of them, was that nobody really fought for Rory. Dean felt her slipping away, and backed out. Then, later on, he was worried he would lose her again so he chose to let her go first. Jess never worked to keep her and eventually bailed, and Logan slept around the minute he thought they were apart. There was nobody who was completely loyal and stuck by her, fighting to keep them together.

message 397: by Amanda (new)

Amanda ( aj & books ) (ajandbooks) Logan all the way.
Dean was a great first boyfriend but it was just puppy love. Jess was a total jerk and needed to get his act together.
Logan changed his ways when it counted!

As for Lorelai...
Team LUKE!
I hated it when she married Chris. I don't even watch that season bc they annoy me. Lol

message 398: by Maria (new)

Maria Ch | 2 comments When i first watched the series i really liked Dean for her but now that I'm older i realize Jess was a better match for her. He was intellectually challenging for her and had the bad boy image going for him too. Dean couldn't keep up with her intellectually and Logan couldn't offer her much from a point onwards. Also he was too blonde for my taste lol!

message 399: by Amanda (new)

Amanda ( aj & books ) (ajandbooks) Hahaa too blonde!

message 400: by Emily (new)

Emily (etrox318) I agree with the original poster and am Team Logan. He has some flaws, but I loved him all the same.
