Dean, Jess or Logan?
I would pick Jess, he was the soul mate of Rory, the one who loved books, he was passioned, had dreams and fought for them. He also was kind of a bad boy and knwe rory better than anyone, he was the who told Rory to go back to yale!!
JESS!Yes, he had a lot of growing up to do and he did it. He put himself together, he became really great and I like to believe that Rory got back with him after season 7.
He was great with her, he got her, he really understood her unlike Dean and Logan.
Dean was dull and boring. Logan was too arrogant and too into a world that wasn't for Rory.
JESS ALL THE WAY!

I agree with my fellow team Logan fans...they were good together on many levels. I love that he became a better man because of her!
To tell you the truth, I didn't like any of those three guys!
Logan!!!!! Dean was a good first boyfriend for her and Jess is amazing because of his love for books. But I absolutely adore Logan and think he's perfect - the best - for Rory.
It actually took me years and years to work out my feelings about this (unlike Luke and Lorelai, who I felt were obviously meant to be from the first time I saw the show), but finally I've figured out what I think.Rory was always trying to change Dean, to get him into the stuff she liked. Rory changed herself for Logan, giving up her values to enter into his world. That’s why Rory and Jess are the best pair—they could both be themselves around each other. They pushed each other to become better people and were brutally honest when necessary.
So I would say Jess, 100%. He was a fascinating character and the journey he took throughout the series remains one of my favorite plot arcs. But beyond that, he and Rory undeniably fit each other like pieces in a puzzle. I do think that Rory's experience with Logan as well as Jess' rash (and somewhat douche-y) actions in earlier seasons were necessary to shape them into people who were truly ready to be together. He was completely right--he knew her better than anyone, even than her own mom. And she knew HIM better than anyone, she understood him even more than Luke.
I truly believe that had the Palladinos been in charge of the 7th season we would've seen more of Jess. You have to realize that most of the lovey/romantic stuff Logan does for Rory is in the 7th season--before that they actually had a pretty difficult relationship, and before he got hurt Rory was about at her wit's end with him, probably about ready to end it. But since Milo didn't want to return without Amy at the helm, I suppose the new writers thought they might as well keep Rory and Logan happy, even if it wasn't entirely realistic.
It's probably worth mentioning that even though I ultimately ship the new, mature season 6 Jess with Rory, there's always going to be a special place in my heart for their season 2/3 relationship, even with all its angst.
P.S. - I've never understood why people ship Rory with non-canon pairings like Tristan or Marty. While Marty, at least, I thought was a good guy I also felt like there were very legitimate reasons why they didn't get together. Tristan was just a jerk, one of those middle school/high school guys who just wants to brag that he can bag any girl he sets his sights on. Marty was sweet (except in season 7, they ruined his character) but he and Rory just never had any sparks. He's the kind of guy you wish you could like but it just doesn't make you feel enough.
JESS!!!! i loved jess and i thought that they were amazing together when he wasnt being to involved in his own emotional problems to let her in.

I'd definitely say Logan.He had his jerk-ish moments in the beginning, but he grew up. As someone stated earlier: He became a man. He learned from his ways and grew up. He was undeniably handsome and very smart (making him an intellectual equal to Rory, which was good for her.) He loved her--there was no doubt about that. wish they had ended up together (and from what I've read if there had been a Season 8 they would have). And they were good for each other and their love was undeniably real.
Jess did grow up, too. I didn't dislike him, but I didn't think, in the end, he was the right guy for an older Rory. He was good for younger Rory.
And Dean well...Dean was okay for sixteen year old Rory maybe, but he didn't grow up. He made terrible mistakes and didn't learn from them.
All in all, Logan was and always will be, in my opinion, my favorite of the three and the best suited for Rory.
Well, good question! I think the one perfect for Rory is probably Jess, but I've always liked Logan! He's sweet, adventurous, sexy, carismatic... Loved him! I'm team Logan! :)
Jess. He brought out Rory's inner spirit. Sure, Dean was good. Logan supported her and is of course more realistic, but Jess was her soul mate.

I agree with you Jessica I think Logan never fitted in with Rory and changed her. I hated him.
The new Jess was cute, but for me, it will always be Logan :) And Dean is just annoying.
How did I not see this before?? Jess - all the way Jess. He's the only one who would have respected her need to do whatever she wanted - and given her the space to do so. Logan? Would throw money at her left right and centre, but after a while, I'm sure (eventually ...) trips to Islands and Europe and fancy cars would get tiresome. :)

Jess all the way!! He was the only one who could converse about books and had a mutual love of literature! And he was attractive
I would want her to be with Logan. Sure he cheated, but that was karma for Rory having sex with Dean while he was married. Let it go and move on. Logan treated he like a princess most of the time! Team Logan all the way!
Logan - she made him a better man and he showed her the possibilities of life. She learned to truly live life not just in books with Logan. Jess was too childish and Dean - Dean was a cute high school sweetheart but once he was married that ended for me.
Ooh this is hard. Definitely not Dean. But I love Logan, and the older Jess (and the younger Jess just not as much. Id have to say Jess though if I really have to decide
Jess is Rory's perfect match. The writers designed him that way on purpose he's supposed to be perfect for her. The writers even said had the show gone on one season longer Rory would have ended up with Jess. So I have to agree with the writers Jess was perfect for Rory especially after getting his life sorted, though I think part of their amazing chemistry may have stemmed from the real life relationship between the actors.

Definitely Jess! Bad boy with a good heart underneath, much better once he got his act together. The best part was he and Rory challenged each other mentally and also to grow as people. Great combination.
Absolutely Jess!! Dean was possessive and controlling, which I always found disturbing. I liked Logan originally, but he led her down a path which she never would have followed without his irresponsible influence. Jess had it all. He was supportive, intelligent, and although he lived a little dangerously as a teenager, I was so happy he got his act together. I wish Rory and Jess had gotten back together in the finale!!

I agree that the show was better when it wasn't about the love lives. And also liked Dean most of the three, though I think he still wasn't the best match for her in the end.

I always thought Jess was the one for Rory, even though the whole 'open horizon' series finale seemed to make sense. Jess had everything down - he was someone who complimented her (liked what she liked, books, music, movies), but he wasn't so compatible that he was boring. Dean was good for a first boyfriend, but Rory would have never been one to stay with her first love. Logan.... Gah. I love Matt and I love the way he portrayed Logan, but he never felt like a good match for Rory. It seemed to me that this storyline was quite forced.
Of course, this may also be due to the intense attraction between Alexis and Milo and the background knowledge of their relationship stint. I quite enjoyed Rory being alone for a while after graduation, as the show seemed to revert back to the idea that women can be happy and successful without having a man in their lives.
You know, I feel that they all did something good for her. I mean, someone like Dean is the resident first love, but they never stick around. And things just got worse when he did stick around. I mean, Rory ended up being the other woman for him. She deserved better.
Jess was a great person to have as a companion. They had similar interests, so that's why I can understand his name is pretty popular in this topic. He was great, but at the time needed to mature enough to not run away anymore. (read Logan part to hear more about Jess)
Rory's first two relationships were pretty serious for high school. But unfortunately for Dean and Jess, her plans ventured way beyond Stars Hallow. So that's why I was completely surprised when Logan came into the picture. I mean, I knew she would have a college love interest, but I never thought that it would get so serious. The more serious they got, the more confident I was that this was the guy that she was going to end up with at the end of the show.
So it bugged me to an enormous level when they broke up on such a sour note. I mean, I didn't expect a cookie cutter ending, but I wanted Rory to feel better at the end of all of this.
I mean, A marriage proposal? Seriously? Whoever wrote up that dilemma was just--uh. Never mind. She obviously loved Logan, but he gave her an ultimatum. (just like Lorelai did with Luke, and look how they turned out) If they stuck it out, or even just decided to stay in contact, it could have ended so much better. At her GRADUATION, he was all like, "Goodbye Rory" and just walked away. No closure or anything?
He was the only guy that she loved back out of her three relationships! Hello? Is anybody even paying attention? If they loved each other (as they managed to mention so many times when they broke up) why the hell did it end like that. Were they trying to make Logan be a spoiled stuck up snob all over again? I mean, he was slowly sinking back into that in season seven (why did you have to leave Amy???), but she had him. She changed him.
How could the writers let this happen? They built us up when Logan got closer to her family, blah, blah, blah. But how in the world did Rory managed to cut of her first mature relationship in less than one episode. UGH!!!
But all in all, she did end up doing what she's wanted (sort of) in the finale, but it just could have ended so much better. But I guess that's just the way everything is. There's always room for improvement. And fanfiction.
Logan was designed to be exactly the opposite of what Rory needed and wanted. He was added in because so many people complained about Rory being too perfect and she needed to make at least one bad choice by 21 or else she simply wouldn't have been believable as a character. And that bad choice was Logan! Which led to a catastrophic few years. Rory and Logan were supposed to have broken up long before they eventually did, for the sake of her shaking off her bad choices and for her to get back together with Jess. But unfortunately when Amy left a spanner was thrown in the works...
I think Rory went out and did her own thing for a while, and then ended up with Jess.
Jess - his that smart metal reading rebel the idea of which is better than both Dean and Logan.
I agree with Janet on that Rory would have ended up with Jess eventually. Jess grew up and became even more interesting. Wish I had a Jess!

Sammy I don't think Logan was a bad choice. He challenged her, which was great, and excited her. I think he was really good for her in the end. I don't know why he gave her an ultimatum, obviously that was an immature move, but I don't think he was terrible. I think they could have been happy eventually.IMO it was better that the writers left her romantic storyline open; it was a new beginning, nothing holding her back.
Shannon, Logan was designed to be a bad choice. And I'm really not sure in what way he challenged her - Dean challenged her emotionally and Jess challenged her intellectually - Logan however just seemed to throw money at her and throw hissy-fits. The only way he ever challenged her was by breaking her heart so many times...
I also personally liked the fact Jess was scared of swans. Swans are evil.
