That's great Melissa, I would love to do a buddy read! I will get the book online as soon as you get your copy and sometime next week we can start or if it's too soon for you then just let me know when. You can PM me...
Lol.. I know it's not the deadline yet, but I'm getting antsy, both as a picker and a pickee:-D The challenges of waiting! I'm going to draft a rough recommendation list for Lucy (whose profile I still can't get into), and if she hasn't added me as a friend by tomorrow midnight my time (Switzerland), I'll just post what I have..
Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "While I don't have the stats to prove it, I've been participating in this challenge for over a year now and normally, if picks aren't done within the first two-three days, then those who don't post..."I was going to say the same thing, Dee.
Recommendations for Leah *Silk Desire* *~*Nate's Kitty Cat*~*This was kind of difficult because this was my first time doing the pick-it-for-me plus Leah and I have pretty different tastes. I really liked all the books I am recommending so hopefully you can find something you will enjoy!
Friend - The Elusive Flame The first ever romance book I read, recommended to me by my mother. Plus I read it during spring break in April, nice coincidence.
Romance - A Knight in Shining Armor TT novel, I laughed and cried, it was great
Intense - Perfect There were definitely some intense "what will happen?" moments through out this book
Emotions - Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story I always prefer laughing over crying for an emotion, and this is a hilarious book but not a typical romance.
New - Only His Saw you didn't have any Lowell books, I loved this one because its western-y
Don't Forget - Outlander Its a thick one, but it comes highly recommended. I am currently listening to it on Audible
Support - The Bronze Horseman I am starting to regret putting this in my Monthly Challenge list seeing as its almost 900 pages.
Bonus/Friendship - The Things They Carried Not a romance at all, but it is the only book I ever had to read for school that has stuck with me until this day. Its based on the author's experience in the Vietnam war and the men he fought beside.
I hope you find something interesting on the list to read!
Hi Shirley,This is my first time so here goes:
Friends: Montana Sky by Nora Roberts - I read this a long time ago on the recommendation of my Mother in law and loved it.
Romance: Perfect by Judith McNaught- My all time favorite by her.
Intense: Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux
New: Dark Lover by JR Ward - I didn't see any by her in your paranormal list and this series is one of the best.
Don't Forget: Romeo Romeo by Robin Kaye - Since you like to cook.
Support: In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Flemming - I've been wanting to start this series.
Bonus: Summer by the Sea by Susan Wiggs
No worries, everyone had a first time - just glad you can make the recommendations - looks like you both did good. Hope you both found your recommendations, it looks like they are here somewhere :)
Dawn wrote: "WHERE DO WE POST OUR PICK TO OUR PARTNER? ON HERE OR A PERSONAL MESSAGE?"Yes Dawn, as Delicious Dee said, we prefer all of it to happen here in this tread.
Remember, everything is done in this thread.
Post recommendations, tell your new friend what you have decided to read and then let us all know what your opinion of that choice was.
* Note: recommendations start on page 7

These are marvelous !! Adding to April TBR list right now. Thanks for all your thoughtful choices. :)
Hi Shea !Thanks for the recs, I liked them very much!
I think I'm willing to give a try to a YA book although it's not exactly my type. So, I'll be reading Nightshade, with the really cool cover and I'm hoping to be able to get Eternal Rider as well.
Camille wrote: Will do! 4 days left before I get my hands on a copy of that book! so excited!!!"I am too. I can't wait to read it with you.
Okay, Dee (Delicious Dee Challenge Addict), finally...my picks for you. Sorry so late. I think I was putting too much thought into this! LOL Hope you find something you haven't read (you've read alot!!) and that you like!Missy
Friends - Navarro's Promise (Breeds) by Lora Leigh Since this looks like your favorite author, I'll take that as a recommendation. This doesn't release until April 5, but that gives you a few days to look forward to it!
Romance - Mansfield Park by Jane Austen You've read just about all of my favorite romances, so I picked the one Jane Austen I didn't see on your list that I love.
Intense - Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry This book is in my top 5 all-time favorites!
Emotions - Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding So many laugh out loud moments in this book! Easy, fun read!
New - Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward This one's just released and it looks like you've enjoyed the others in this series.
Don't Forget - Saddled and Spurred (Blacktop Cowboys #2) by Lorelei James Couldn't resist the cover of this one on your TBR list!!
Support - Into the Dreaming (Highlander #8) by Karen Marie Moning I saw you rated these books very highly. I would have to read the first one if they go in order.
Bonus - Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose You rated Band of Brothers with 5 stars. Thought you might enjoy this, too.
(whew! I did it! I really hope you haven't read most of these!)
wow, Missy - you did good...I haven't read any of those...i'll have to ponder and see which one I wanna read...the Lorelei James one is definately tempting, and so is the new BDB...but i'll add the rest to the list as well

Thanks! I am really excited to look into your recommendations. And I agree about the It Had to Be You cover. I ordered a copy sight unseen and was a little shocked when it arrived. Usually the covers on Phillip's books aren't so scandalous!

Melissa ** wrote: "Tugce Nida wrote: "Melissa ** wrote: "Tugce Nida wrote: "Hi Melissa, What a wonderful day this is!!! I arrived to work and got my copy of Lover Unleashed finally :) and now my picks for you... ..."
wow thats a little too early for me, i have ordered it today so it might take a week until I receive it. Do you think you can wait?
Lili wrote: "Hey Laura… we have like… all our books in common so it wasn’t quite difficult. Here are your rec’s and let me tell you this is one of the best list I’ve gotten together. Hope you find something yo..."
Hey Lili!! Thanks for the rec's, you did a fabulous job. In fact, I had a hard time deciding on which books I am going to read and in what oder. I think I am going to start off with Just the Sexiest Man Alive then I am going to read The Book Thief. I will send you a message when I am ready to start buddy reading A Lot Like Love, if you are interested. I am trying to broaden my reading choices...I usually pretty much stick with Paranormal romance. I am excited to read something new!!
Thanks, Yz the Whyz!! Your recommendations look great! I have wanted to read something by Lisa Kleypas for awhile now, so I think I'll start with that. Also, Cry No More looks very intriguing. I'll put them all on my list and be sure to let you know what I think as I read them! I can get all of them at my library. Thanks for taking the time to recommend some books for me! This was fun!
Missy
Good choice, SheSwitches!Originally, I found the book to be a bit slow at the beginning, but soon I was sneaking in reading time during my Calculus class. Advanced mathematics is overrated anyway.

You just let me know!! I going to pick up Pride and Prejudice and One Day from the library tomorrow so I will have plenty until you are ready!!
AlbertaJenn! Again I am sorry it took me so long, my son decided to antique his room yesterday with baby powder instead of taking a nap.. That was fun* I picked a bunch after looking at your Read and To-Read List that I though you might enjoy. A few are from your own list and many are ones that I've read recently and LOVED. I hope you find something you enjoy!
Friends : The Hallow by Jessica Verday

My Sister in Law read it and swore up and down I had to read it. I ended up getting hooked and I am now waiting patiently (not so much) for the 3rd book in the trilogy to come out.

Intense : The Kitchen Witch By Annette Blair

I ended up reading this book in about 3 hours and then promptly downloaded the next 5 and finished them in 4 days.
Emotions : Slow Hands By Leslie Kelly
Slow Hands (The Wrong Bed: Again and Again, #1)
Romance
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Mistaken Identity and an immense amount of passion and raw lust. It is also currently Free on Kindle as of 4/1/11
The follow up book called Heated Rush is also fantastic and it was nice to know what happened to the other couple.
Heated Rush
New : Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain
Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly
Culinary Biography
I’ve watched Anthony Bourdain’s travel tv shows for years because I fell in love with his particular brand of humor. He is brutally honest and his writing is fantastic.
Don’t forget : How To Flirt with a Naked WereWolf- Molly Harper
How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf
Paranormal Romance
Since I am currently reading a Molly Harper book and I’m enjoying her style of writing.
Support : The Blaze Collection: Her Sexy Valentine/Play with Me/The Charmer : By Stephanie Bond, Leslie Kelly and Kate Hoffman
The Blaze Collection: Her Sexy Valentine\Play with Me\The Charmer
Romance
I just purchased this from the Borders that is closing near me! I love Leslie Kelly and figured I would try two new authors in the process.
Bonus : To Do List By Lauren Dane
To Do List
Romance
Crushes on her brothers Best Friend!!
Thought I would add a picture for all of those Mom's out there to show what I got to do yesterday during my son's nap rather then finish the book I have been reading.. BTW Molly Harper's Nice Girls books are Fantastic!
I LOVE MY SON, I LOVE MY SON
Brenda wrote: "Thought I would add a picture for all of those Mom's out there to show what I got to do yesterday during my son's nap rather then finish the book I have been reading.. BTW Molly Harper's Nice Girl...">
LOL!!! I just had to deal with permant marker on the wall. My daughter decided she wanted flowers and stars!!
Pollyanna--Here you go! Enjoy!
Friends: The Name of the Wind. My teenage children told me over and over again I needed to read this book. I finally did and WOW! It’s amazing. Patrick Rothfuss’s world building is extraordinary. I’m now reading the sequel The Wise Man's Fear which is also fabulous.
Romance: What I Did For a Duke by Julie Ann Long. I loved this book. It’s an historical romance with humor, intelligence and depth.
Intense: Faithful Place by Tana French. If you haven’t read Ms. French, you are missing out, especially if you like mysteries. This is her third and she just keeps getting better and better.
Emotions: The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. This is a moving, multi-generational story. It will break your heart and yet it’s not at all a depressing book. Out of all the books my Bookclub read last year, this was the one that all of us loved.
New: The Iron Dukewas my favorite romance published in 2010. It’s a steam punk book, with a perfect story and mesmerizing characters. I can’t recommend it enough.
Don’t forget: Go ahead and read Darkfever. The series is pretty fabulous and the first book sucks you right in.
Support: I’m interested in reading Soulless by Gail Carriger. Several readers I know have it on their favorite book ever list and it sounds pretty interesting.
Bonus: There is a great series by Rachel Gibson that has a group of women friends in it that I like a lot. Not Another Bad Date, Tangled Up In You, Sex, Lies, and Online Dating are my favorite of the four. I like the women in them a lot.
Dabney

OMG. I would have cried! While it was time consuming it was pretty easy to clean up. I just kept telling myself it could have been vaseline or balmex.
Brenda wrote: "Melissa ** wrote: "Brenda wrote: "Thought I would add a picture for all of those Mom's out there to show what I got to do yesterday during my son's nap rather then finish the book I have been readi..."Yep, her walls where a very pretty color of pale yellow and now they are DARK purple and you can still see a little bit of it.
Drq, sorry, I haven't seen them either.* Reminder - you have till 9pm (CST) April 2nd to get recommendations up, then the re-mix will be done.
I know Melanie and Pollyanna are having trouble with the private profiles, if anyone else has not made recommendations because of this, let me know please, I may include you in the pickers for the re-mix even if you have received your recommendations.
Shirley,Did not mean to forget emotions. My selection for that was Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale. Glad you are patient with me.
WOW, starting to get ready for th re-mix and I am amazed to realize that 95 participants have received recommendations. wah-hoo :o)To me that is amazing !! Really great job everyone.
I know some of us are still waiting (including myself), but I think we can probably change that for most of us who are *cough, cough* trying to be patient :)
Drq AngelNo, I didn't forget about you! I just... well, I have no real excuse, other than tiredness and laziness this week. Without further ado, here they are!
Friends: Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Book 1 of the Dark-Hunters. This was recommended to me by my former boss almost three years ago. This was my first foray into the PNR genre. I loved it, and it lead me to many, many other great PNR/UF reads.
Romance: Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer. Since you have rated all the BDB highly, I would highly recommend this romance series. Instead of vampires, the Feral Warriors are a band of shifters who protect their race. Her writing is similar, but also uniquely complex.
Intense: Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake. The first Dark Days novel, this series is a fast roller coaster ride that had me gripped as I went along for the ride.
Emotions: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper. The first book by Harper. Her Nice Girls series is hilarious! I could not get enough of the snarky one-liners that Jane, the librarian-turned-vampire, lobs at her friends and family.
New: I noticed that you haven't read anything by Lauren Dane. She is a fabulous erotica author, and I feel very comfortable recommending her first Brown Siblings novel, Laid Bare, to you. This series is about finding love and about family. With lots of hot sex thrown in! ;-)
Don't Forget: Simply Perfect by Mary Balogh has been on your TBR list the longest. You have given high ratings to Balogh's other books, so it should be a good read. (I have only read one of her books, but enjoyed it)
Support: I would be excited to do a buddy read with you, reading The Chase by Erin McCarthy. Loved this series. Romance and NASCAR: what's not to love?
Bonus: An Arranged Marriage by Jo Beverley. The first book in her Company of Rogues series. This Regency series follows a group of men who became close friends while at school, and continue their friendship through adulthood as they find their loves and go through life trials. **Note: the paper edition of this book is currently out of print, and so you would have to purchase a second-hand or ebook copy.**
Enjoy!

Hey Brenda, what did he smear all over his bed? I can't figure it out. Is it paint?
About another 26 hours till I do the re-mix, if we can wait a little longer, maybe we will get some more of recommendations in. *fingers crossed*

Brenda, saw the pic! Oh, dear. Of course it was a brand new bottle! Love the name, BTW: Monkey Butt Baby Powder!
