It's a fun series. And she has a lot of ethnic diversity too.

Can't Read (ozmom) | 3 comments I am currently reading, "Lover at Last" book 11 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward!!

I LOVE the WARDens books...been waiting for this book to come out for what seems like FOREVER!! and so far it has not disappointed! She's a great author if you are into paranormal romance. Her vampires in the brotherhood are unlike any other vampire books I've read, I LOVE all her books :)

Ladyamelia | 173 comments Reading Secret by Nia Forrester and it's pretty good so far. I'm really connecting with the heroine in this one.

message 255: by Stella (new)

Stella (flightystella) | 229 comments I am reading Sought. It is the third book in the Kindred Brides series by Evangeline Anderson. It is pretty good so far.

message 256: by TinaNoir (new)

TinaNoir | 1456 comments @Stella- The Kindred bride series is great and the fourth book features a black heroine.

@Michelle - Oh The Charley Davidson (Grave) series is awesome. Hysterical! The later books get a bit dark, but Charley remains super funny. I am due a re-read on those.

I just finished Wolf with Benefits (Pride, #8) by Shelly Laurenston and I didn't love, love it like I usually do Laurenston's work.

Just about to start The Wanderer (Thunder Point, #1) by Robyn Carr

Paganalexandria | 4065 comments I'm reading Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and so far it's a "I can't stop reading, argh!" type of book. It's so funny. I like it much better than everyone else's favorite Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec . Mainly because it doesn't have that bad ass little boy in it that I can't decide needs time out, the naughty chair, or a good 'ol ass whuppin. lol

Paganalexandria | 4065 comments I just finished Beauty (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #20.5) by Laurell K. Hamilton and so annoyed. It expected to at least be the length of Micah (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #13) by Laurell K. Hamilton ...Well at least that 15 minute book helps with my 2013 reading goal. I was a book off track.

I haven't read any of her Anita Blake books; I read one or two of her Merry Gentry books though.

I'm also a big UF fan too. ;)

Robin, I really like Laurell K. Hamilton but prefer her fairy series over Anita Blake. The general consensus of that series is everything's awesome until Narcissus in Chains (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #10) by Laurell K. Hamilton . I personally loved it up to Danse Macabre (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #14) by Laurell K. Hamilton , hated the next two books, and got into it again with Flirt (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #18) by Laurell K. Hamilton .

Deb, One of the things I love about goodreads is the compare books feature. If I'm unsure about a book review I just compare that persons reads against my own. If we rated other things similarly than I can trust we are on the same wavelength. Some of my favorite review sites (Dear Author, Mrsgiggles.com) are funny but we never like the same books. I've just become comfortable knowing my literary tastes are obviously plebian. lol

LOL, I feel that way about my literary tastes at times too. That's a good idea to do the comparison. I honestly don't know what I did before goodreads. I'm becoming so dependent I don't know how to find books on my own anymore : )

Paganalexandria | 4065 comments I have started exploring the dark reads sub-genre. Right now I'm reading Aleatha Romig's Consequences (Consequences, #1) by Aleatha Romig because of the buzz it's been getting. The author is losing me because she keeps wussing out in her scenes. If you are going to explore such a dark subject you shouldn't do cut away scenes because it looses it's impact. Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #2) by C.J. Roberts were so scary because they just went there. I'm only 30% in so far. Hopefully it gets better.

Vampire Shift is sooooooo freaking good that everything else is going to the back burner until I finish it. It is the first in a series and so different than most of the vampire/paranormal books I usually read.

Paganalexandria | 4065 comments Okay I finally finished Consequences (Consequences, #1) by Aleatha Romig and have to give it up...this book is actually crazy good. I think my annoyance really stemmed from this being touted as erotica. It's really a psychological thriller. All the sex is more implied versus detailed. My review was "The worst book I couldn't put down".

Hi! I've read that and deemed it a book you hate to love. It reallyy screws with your mind. I got so mad so many times while reading it...I felt like throwing my kindle down and stomping it--but I kept on reading because it was really intriguing and addictive (LOL)

Now I strongly suggest you read Truth--Wow! Wanna talk about some twists and turns to events and people? That one definitely had me asking WTH?

Cricket, all these characters are so flawed in real ways. It makes them very relatable. I'm barely half way in, hating everyone except Jade, but have to know what happens.

Deb, I haven't started it yet. Everyone says it's much better but I have about 5 books ahead of it. Especially Aleatha Romig's Truth (Consequences, #2) by Aleatha Romig ...now that's a story that I'm begging to know what happens with.

Cricket, It just finished and only can say is "whew...what a ride". It was good but so dramatic. A couple of these characters reminded me of people in real life that I don't like that much. I was expecting a romance but got terry mcmillianish.

I need a breather before starting the second book so going back to real crazy town with Truth (Consequences, #2) by Aleatha Romig
