Do soulmates really exist? I ponder this as I write in my journal. Imagine thinking you have it all mapped out. I write in my journal to keep my sanity. Imagine everyone you love is out of your reach. Let me explain my dilemma for the moment. My mom and the person who owns my heart are both in the military. I look forward to them both returning home so that life as I know it will return to normal. My ex Roderick surprised me and enlisted with his brother. We were high school sweethearts we had plans of living a long and happy life together, but then the war happened and took those dreams away from both of us. As tears stream down my face, I curse myself for not telling him I needed him. Don’t get me wrong I respect him and my mother both for wanting to serve and protect our freedom and liberty. But try telling that to your emotions when said person tell you that they had a change of plans. Most of all, I miss spending time with my mom and learning from her. Imagine watching the effects of someone’s decisions literally kill someone else that you love. Ever since my mom has been away, I have seen my dad become a shadow of the man who raised me. So are either of them selfish to have us emotionally tied to them as they fulfill what they think is their solemn duty to our country. What about obligations to your love ones? Imagine picturing the prototypical fantasy of the three kids and the white picket fence and it’s destroyed by civil obligation. Loki I know I ain’t shit . But these black bitches love the way I take care of them. They love the cars, the money, and how I let them know I can make them feel like shit when I feel like it.
