Kitty and the Silver Bullet (Kitty Norville, #4) by Carrie Vaughn

29.09 - 5 Stars

Kitty goes back home to Denver to see her family. She gets sucked in a vampire war and has to deal with Denver werewolves.

It was good read with lot of action and little bit sad.

Lala | 1065 comments Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) by Charlaine Harris *** 02.10

I liked Deadlocked, but i didn't love it. I was so looking forward for reading it that im little disappointed about it and it was little depressing. It felt like Sookie was in really bad place and in the end she did not come out of it, but im getting a feeling that she and Sam might have a romance in the future :)

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments Desire the Night by Amanda Ashley
Urban Fantasy
Finished~10/02/12
Stars~★★★

It was ok until about 2/3 through! Then I had a WTH moment followed by a "You are such a DUMB A**" moment followed by a "You are so the naked girl checking the basement in a Freddie Movie!" to a WTF! This can get worse! and last a "I wasted a day for this SH*T!!"

So get this... A witch has a vampire captive. She throws in a girl who unbenonced to her is a werewolf. He loves her. She helps him escape. They travel together to end up back at her pack where she has an assh*le father who is forcing her into a marriage to an even worse man... AND SHE DOESN"T FIGHT IT!! She's a wimp! Well, she voices her opinion & that's it!

Much more & I can spoil the whole thing, but get this! Do you think it's wise o go someplace where you know people will hold you captive, rape you & beat you so you can go to a funeral??? Uhhhh NOOOOOOO! Said dead person would wish me safe! WTF!!! AND SHE GOOOES!! HER HUSBAND LETS HER!!! WHAAAATT!?! Idiot!

So I give it a 3 stars because it just floored me to try to accept this rational for stupid behavior I was supposed to rollover & accept!

Whatever! Not a good intro to a writer! That's for sure! Very light romance... No erotica at all, so it's safe. even rape was skimmed over as not really a big deal.

Megan L Harnett Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Shelf: Favorite Author
Read: 10/3/12
Review: ★★★★★

This story is about Nykierian the assasin and Kierara the dancer/princess. Nykierian is a dangerous assaing who saves Kierara from multiple kidnapping/killing attempts. Nykierian is a cold blooded assasin who shows no emotions until Kierara breaks down his shell.

I absolutley loved this book! It was over 500 pages but I couldn't put it down so it went by fast. I loved how the trials these two went to to fall in love. It didn't just happen like in most stories. There was build up, then doubt and then finally making everything work out in the end. It made the story much more belivable! Another reason why Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors!

Shelf ~ Favorite Author
Read ~ 10.2
Rating ~ ★★★★

I just love KMM and Dageus just might be my favorite Highlander! Dageus is slowly turning dark as he continues to battle the 13 dark forces inside of himself. Chloe is drawn into Dageus world and she helps keep the dark at bay. Of course there is plenty of steam between these two! Such a great series.

Emily | 109 comments I finished reading The Vampire's Warden (Undead in Brown County, #1) by S.J. Wright 10/3/12. I really didnt like this story. It was written okay but the characters really werent that likable and it just didnt grab me. I will not be reading any other books in the series. Not sure if I would try another by this author. Sarah was interesting and I dont think the author really gave enough to her and Michael and then her and Alex. I rated this a 2 out of 5 as I was able to finish reading it.

Night Game (GhostWalkers, #3) by Christine Feehan

OK so Christine Feehan is my guilty pleasure. I know they aren't the greatest most original books. But I still love them. This one came complete with a sexy Cajun, a sexy Irishman, alligators and the hero's grandmother supplying our happy couple with naughty underwear and sex toys.

Shelf ~ Urban Fantasy
Read ~ 10.5
Rating ~ ★★★

I enjoyed this book and will probably read the next. However, I expected more from this story. There are some intriguing, funny and romantic parts and for the most part well written. Just keep in mind that the author is 18 yrs old. I like the storyline in which 3 angels come down from Heaven on a mission to counter act the doings of the Dark Agents. You would think there would be lots of action sadly no that was reserved for the ending. Bethany, the youngest Angel is very human like and falls in love with a mortal boy, Xavier. And that was the entire book. Bethany was naive helpless and depended on Xavier to protect her. I would have liked a little more independence.

Vampire

The last one I read was kind of silly, but these are fast reads & I own about 7 so I better get through them so I can get rid of them!!

Kind of sad having to buy reading glasses to magnify micro print. I can see fine, it's just too teeny!!

message 132: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett The Savage Grace (The Dark Divine, #3) by Bree Despain
Shelf: Urban Fanstasy
Finished: 10/9/12
Rating: ★★★

This is the third and final installment in the "The Dark Divine" Series. It concludes the story nicely of Grace and her werewolf boyfriend Daniel. The last book leaves off with Daniel in a permanent state of being a werewolf while Grace tries to fight with her inner wolf and trying to fix him. More and more problems arise including Daniel's father who is trying to kill them all.

I give this story only three stars because while the werewolf element is good, and the fighting scenes are good this story rubs me the wrong way in two ways. First, it has an underlying religious theme while not to bad if I had known I might have not even started this series. Two, Grace is another one of those angry, whiny teenagers that bugs me. So that is why only 3 stars.

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments Everlasting Kiss (Everlasting, #1) by Amanda Ashley

Shelf~ Vampires
Finished~ 10/9/12
Rating~ ★★★

Well, this book did not disappoint. It was yet another wordy travel from place to place repetative meet someone new, do stupid thigs & make bad choices book. I could expect no less.

Girl walks into a bar... gets a drink. Guy walks into a bar meets girl...

Girl a blood stealer. Guy a vamp.
Girls family are anti Vamp & Vamp hunters. Guys family long dead.
Girls stupid hunter brother takes dumb sister from a freddie movie with him on a hunt. OOOoo old vamps can wake up during the day. Old vamp attacks stupid brother & sister who thinks all this is great & normal, stabs vamp not killing him & races brother to Vamp boyfriend to heal. Vamp boyfriend saves brother & they have to drive across the US from LA to Boston to hide from old vamp the didn't kill.

Annoying part... A ton! One major thing was the dad always calling his daughter "daughter"... who does that? Old people. Another thing...until the last 5 pages, they had only kissed. OOookkk! OH! and finally after they do the deed (it's very clean too) it's an after thought to mention that prior to this subtle event, she was a virgin. "OH! Ok!"

As far as the end, a dude is pissed! then next sentence he's straightening up his posture & he's totally over it & fine! "HUH??? Ok!"

Soo thats it with a whole bunch of fluff and wonderings all through the book...

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Here's my vampires review:

Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward

4 stars
finished 10/13/12

Another winner from JR Ward. One thing though that I need to do is not to wait so long between reading them. Part of why I don't devour them one right after the other is that they are so long and once I start reading them it's all I want to do. I'm sorry now that I got them all on print so far ahead because I could get through them faster on audiobook. I tend to grab shorter print reads. The number or story lines is getting a little out of control and I hope she ties some up soon.

V's story is a little rough to read at times. The abuse he suffered and the sex he likes. But I'm guessing anyone who has made it this far into the series isn't overly squeemish about that stuff. This is not fluffy sparkly vampire romance.

Sacred Evil (Krewe of Hunters, #3) by Heather Graham

SERIES CATCH UP
4 STARS
10/14/12

Heather Graham is a favorite of mine. I love ghost themed books. And romances of course so what's not to love about ghost hunters falling in love? Sure I usually have them figured out before the end. They're still entertaining, fun reads. I'm a Jack the Ripper buff so this was right up my alley.
