My tastes are rather eclectic, though if pressed, I'd say I have a preference for fantasy. I've always been a mythology/legend/folklore buff and rather enjoy tasteful retellings. I generally read more for characterization, creativity of (usage of) concepts, plausibility within context, etc, but that doesn't mean plot isn't important either. Note that I mostly use my GR to track my M/M reads.
My reviews tend to be comment-as-I-go's, because if I don't do that, then I usually have nothing to say at the end but generic stuff I'm unsatisfied with. Occasionally I'll write one after finishing, but for the most part, if I don't write anything while I'm reading, I won't have much to say at the end. I'll sometimes use the CR shelf and the updates function, but generally I write comments cumulatively so I get to free-ramble for as long as I want/need. I'm trying to at least write sum-ups and stick them in the beginning now, and actually labeling ongoing commentary from when I read as such, but yeah I guess sometimes I forget that reviews are semi-public and not just like things that only ppl following me or friends see, or notes to self (unless settings have changed and they are?)....more
