Ok, there is something in this book that has some vampire-like aspects, but it's not AT ALL like the popular vision of vampires these days. It's more a scary mutant predator that could not pass for human if it had even the slightest inclination to do so. Oh, and it doesn't so much suck blood as it does rip people apart.
