Hi! I am in desperate need of a good romantasy book!! Preferably a series, but not a deal breaker.
Things I LOVE: - monster men (dragons in particular, but i'll give any monster man a chance any day.) - Morally gray or morally rigid characters. (I like Hi! I am in desperate need of a good romantasy book!! Preferably a series, but not a deal breaker.
Things I LOVE: - monster men (dragons in particular, but i'll give any monster man a chance any day.) - Morally gray or morally rigid characters. (I like exploring thing like what happens when someone "good" makes a bad decision, usually interesting.) - Spice is nice, but a deep intimate emotional connection that pays off in meaningful ways in the plot is KING. - Regency romance. Political plays and fancy dresses? Absolutely.
Nice to haves: - FL who isn't white. Respectfully. There's just so many... - A series. I like to be invested and stay for a while.
Things I don't like... - TikTok language. There's poor writing/an easy read and then brain rot. I'd rather not have the latter. - Apocalyptic world settings. I have no reason. I just dislike it. -Enemies to lovers. Could we please stop dating our enemies? Why is everyone an enemy? -Childhood friends to lovers. It's gonna sound hypocritical...but I would rather date my enemy.
!!Things I WILL NOT READ!! - Anything where FL is assaulted and the abuser is the romantic lead... No. -Body horror that is supposed to be seen as desirable or romantic. Also no.
Books I've loved: - The Clecanian Series by Victoria Aveline. (Yes I read all 9 books) - The Ice Planet Barbarian Series by Ruby Dixon. (I've read about 30 of the 77 books) -The Fourth Wing Series by Rebecca Yarros. (I detest Violet Sorrengail with a passion, but the world and everyone else was nice. Loved the dragons personalities a lot.) -Bride/Mate by Ali Hazelwood. (Truly love her writing style, a shame I don't particularly like modern romance.) -Morning Glory Milking Farm. (That was a WILD ride, but I honestly thought it was a pretty down to earth book and I enjoyed it.)
I'm pretty open to anything in the fantasy genre really. Thinly veiled smut with a good plot is cool. A whole world where the most intense physical connection is hand holding is also cool. I feel like when I search I just keep getting the same books, mostly ACOTAR. Which I liked but didn't love.
Thank you for reading this and for any recommendations!! ...more
