A romance fantasy where both the romance *and* the fantasy are equally strong. For the fantasy side, I want a strong, well-written plot that actually makes sense. I don’t want a story overloaded with a million confusing plotlines or twists that feel random. If there’s a twist, I want it to be clever and unpredictable, because I hate when everything is obvious from the start. Enemies to lovers is totally fine with me too.
Most importantly, for the love of God, I need the female lead to be smart, passionate, and genuinely strong. And by strong, I do *not* mean stubborn, reckless, naive, and incapable of listening to anyone else. Right now I’m reading the Once Upon a Broken Heart series, and I do like it, but I don’t really see the chemistry between the characters as much as I wanted to. The female lead also feels a little too naive for my taste....more
