I want to read a fantasy, standalone book; it should have mystery or some kind of intrigue to keep one reading; romance is appreciated, but it should be a subplot (shouldn't overpower the plot itself), and the book should be on the shorter side (max I want to read a fantasy, standalone book; it should have mystery or some kind of intrigue to keep one reading; romance is appreciated, but it should be a subplot (shouldn't overpower the plot itself), and the book should be on the shorter side (max 350–400 pages; the lesser the better). My "Rating" System:
5/5: I'd recommend it endlessly and could reread it multiple times. (It was breathtakingly amazing; one of the best books I've read.)
4/5: It was almost perfect; I enjoyed reading it. I'd definitely suggest it. (I really liked it; a really good book.)
3/5: It was entertaining enough. I liked certain elements. I might recommend it. (It was good; in certain scenarios, it could be teetering on the edge of being problematic; a regular, not-so-wowing book.)
2/5: I didn't like it. It's not the worst piece of literature in history, but it sure lies nearby, and it didn't resonate with me. It lacked recommendability. (It was almost horrible, quite problematic but had 1 or 2 redeeming qualities; not a book for me.)
1/5: It was an abomination. I'll never recommend such a book. No one should pick this up. Anyone thinking of reading this should rather jump out of the window. (There are absolutely no redeeming qualities; shouldn't be a book for anyone as it was utter nonsense.)...more
