I can also recommend the Vicki Nelson Series . She's a modern day, working class private investigator in Toronto. He's an ageless, suave and wealthy vampire. Together they face vampires, ghosts, a mummy, you know the drill. A tempestuous romance comes with the package, of course. Oh yeah... she's in the process of slowly going blind.

I add Shattered Glass, because the use of stained glass has stuck with me, since I originally read it in the late 90s. It's more a romance/mystery in story, but it's about the relationship between a woman and a vampire.
