    William Shakespeare
    “Two households, both alike in dignity,
    In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
    From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
    Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
    From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
    A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
    Whole misadventured piteous overthrows
    Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
    The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
    And the continuance of their parents' rage,
    Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
    Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
    The which if you with patient ears attend,
    What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.”
    William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

    “روزی روزگاری پادشاهی بود که دختری داشت. پادشاه دخترش را در پرده نگه داشته بود و دختر حتا روی آفتاب را هم ندیده بود. فقط دایه اش را می دید و بس.
    یک روز داشت بازی می کرد، چیزی از دستش دررفت و شیشه ی پنجره شکست و چشم دختر به خورشید افتاد. برف تازه باریده بود و آفتاب هم بود. دختر دو پایش را کرد توی یک کفشش و به دایه اش گفت: "من آن چیز را می خواهم! باید آن را به من بدهی!"
    دختر خورشید را ندیده بود و نمی دانست که چیست. دایه اش گفت: " جانم! خورشید را نمی شود گرفت." دختر دست برنداشت و آخر سر دایه مجبور شد که او را بلند کند تا از پنجره به بیرون نگاه کند، شاید دست بردارد.
    دختر دید که برف باریده و روی برف هم دو تا پرنده نشسته اند و آنطرف تر دو قطره خون روی برف ریخته.
    یکی از پرنده ها به دیگری گفت: "خواهر! ببین توی دنیا چیزی زیباتر از برف و خون پیدا می شود؟" دیگری جواب داد: "چرا پیدا نمی شود! محمد گل بادام از هر چیزی زیباتر است.”
    صمد بهرنگی / Samad Behrangi, افسانه‌های آذربایجان
