Michael There's more sex and violence in the Bible than in Agatha Christie, so if you think the former is age appropriate, the latter will be.
Tracy Any child that wants to read this is probably old enough. A couple of my kids began reading Christie at about ten--when kid mysteries got boring to them.

Spoilers:
It offers a good opportunity to think about and discuss the difference between accidental harm and willful harm, the weird Agatha Christie trope of suicide being a sort of honorable way to avoid scandal, the acceptance of the colonialism of the time and the problem of young women not having a good way to support themselves.
Jack Heath The Bible is much more violent and contains many more sex-related scenes than anything Agatha Christie wrote. Of course the age is important, a bright 10 or 11 and above should be good for Christie, but I wouldn't recommend this specific one to a young person because it is based on bridge. A basic understanding would be very helpful. It's a most complicated card game and out of fashion these days. Have him or her read "Murder on the Orient Express" and then watch one of the movie versions on TV with them. Then ask, "Which was better?" Hint - after they have read the book, not before but prior to seeing the movie, google "The Lindbergh baby kidnapping" and read that together. You'll see why some call Agatha Christie one of the best of all time.
Clara It all depends on your sensibilities. I would say that that minimum age is twelve, just because younger children might be easily scared by the murderers. There's nothing gory or descriptive in this one or really, any of her mysteries. But the murderers and the suspense can be frightening for the younger generation. You don't have to worry about swears or inappropriate scenes though. Although they do say "I'll be damned." Which might be considered a swear and they use God a few times as well.
