Of course the age is important, a bright 10 or 11 and above should be good for Christie, but I wouldn't recommend this specific one to a young person because it is based on bridge. A basic understanding would be very helpful. It's a most complicated card game and out of fashion these days. Have him or her read "Murder on the Orient Express" and then watch one of the movie versions on TV with them. Then ask, "Which was better?" Hint - after they have read the book, not before but prior to seeing the movie, google "The Lindbergh baby kidnapping" and read that together. You'll see why some call Agatha Christie one of the best of all time.(less)
